As the title let slyly by, the election is over. Thank god it’s over. I mean, it’s really all over guys. Hope you didn’t love this world, because ohhhhh-ver. Kidding (MAYBE). I live in a blue state, am a “white-ish” male (half is enough!), that works from home, so a Trump Presidency doesn’t affect me. Add a few more shades of brown or a pu**y to grab, well then, the next four years might have been a bit different. And in the pod, we quickly give our take on what it all means maaaan, from a Clinton supporter (yes, I was with her), a luke-warmish Trump supporter (Unbreakable MB), and a Libertarian supporter (Tehol, because of course) who did the resting-Librarian, which is another way of saying he didn’t vote. After just a short six minutes of cordial discussion (that’s what she said), we quickly pivoted to talking football, going over San Diego’s voting no on their stadium referendum, what exactly is going on with the running back situations in Tampa Bay and Seattle, and what we can expect from Ty Montgomery and Dion Lewis going forward along with other topics. Jordan Howard was mentioned, I know that. And then we just kinda decide to stop talking, since Tehol and I aren’t fully caught up with Westworld. What can I say, we have the best endings… (A lot of people are saying it.)Please, blog, may I have some more?
As the title states (SPOILER ALERT), Rudy Gamble (Stat Guru for Razz) joined me in our latest podcast, and it was a great conversation. Sure, I may be a biased source, but let me introduce you to these totally unbiased people sitting right next to me watching as I type this intro. They have given the thumbs up, and if you can’t trust me, trust them. And if you think I’m making this up, I can unapologetically confirm that I’m probably not. And talking about making things up, I got the opportunity to talk about the 2016 election in a way that won’t piss off anyone (maybe!) by going directly to the numbers. We talk about what it takes to create an aggregate system like the one Nate Silver has made famous at FiveThirtyEight.com, and what we can learn from that system when applying it to fantasy sports. True, we do get lost in the weeds a bit, wondering what it is exactly about Trump that allows for such a… unique and fervored following, but before we get into real trouble of entering an echo chamber, we switch directly into examining Rudy’s tools, and some ways that we can take advantage of projection systems in fantasy football, and furthermore, have a great back and forth on how to go about targeting players who might break out. I wish we didn’t run out of time, but we’ll have Rudy back on soon, so until then, enjoy! Please, blog, may I have some more?
As the title denotes, we talk Aaron Rodgers, we talk Westworld (starts at 47:00 to avoid spoilers), and we delve a little bit into what is an election season that needs to end very soon for all of our sanity. Jen, Zach, Tehol, and newcomer Matt Bowe (Unbreakable MB!) join in a discussion about how at this point, a meteor that starred in Armageddon could probably win the presidency in a landslide. But because my oratory skills were created out of pure magic and the essence of lilac, we were able to transition back into football and what actually happened to Kaepernick and what we can expect moving forward. The struggles of Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb were covered, along with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, the recent Knile Davis trade, and as a final treat, we hearken back to our humble Game of Throne podcast roots and discuss a new heralded show from HBO; Westworld, mostly because SEO hits are becoming harder and harder to come by. Theories, characters, and a couple season predictions are made. Enjoy! (And as a bonus, we lost Tehol in the middle of the show, so I guarantee you’ll love at least half the show. Or, you know, the other half. But 50% will be golden.)
Note: Week 7 Rankings will be released later today! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Sadly, Tehol wasn’t driving, which automatically disqualified him for appearing on the pod, so in his stead, Mike Maher (who writes the Handcuff Report series) joined us so Zach could teach us what Yom Kippur is and why he’s starved himself to only eat food and upset his God. Or Gods. I’m not actually clear how many of them there are, but that’s mainly because I was raised a Catholic, which means I grew up not caring about anything but self-guilt. Mike, Zach, and myself do find time to preview all the upcoming games while also discussing fun topics like: Is Carson Wentz legit? What’s going on with Matt Jones? Should we right the Sammy Coates hype train? Are you buying Todd Gurley still? And why do any of us still thinking owning a Cardinals wide receiver is a good idea? Enjoy!

As the title says, this podcast is a bit shorter than your usual ones (that’s what she said! And it’s totally normal!), but what we lack in time, we make up in guest power. If you’ve been following the show, we’ve been updating what’s being going on in the BlogTalkRadio “Expert” league hosted by PodVader and today we discuss the league a bit where Razzball is one of two teams left undefeated. Following, we turn to the league and discuss the Steelers and Eagles, when the right time is to start making moves for your team, and other tidbits. Only because I wanted to use the word “tidbits”…Please, blog, may I have some more?
A little late, a little more driving, but we’re back and better than ever! I think. Maybe not. But Tehol and I got a lot of work done, going over the Texans and Patriots Thursday Night snoozefest as we begrudgingly admit that Bill Belichick might actually know what he’s been doing all these years, Adrian Peterson and Danny Woodhead’s season-ending injuries, and and we go over the upcoming Sunday and Monday games. Sure, in the middle of it all, we get sidetracked talking about our current RCL trade we’re both mulling (I send Stefon Diggs and Thomas Rawls for Tehol’s Melvin Gordon and Matt Jones), the Razzball Dream League, and we even make our picks for the upcoming Presidential debate. Yes, we talk some politics, and no, we don’t get political. We did our best to be as neutral as possible when discussing our picks, so no fear everyone, you can still continue to flame us for our football viewpoints. All is well…Please, blog, may I have some more?
Welcome to the newest episode of the Razzball Football podcast! As the title alludes to in very obvious ways, not only do we go over some highlights from Week 1 and preview Week 2, but we also get a fully-fledged admittance that Tehol may have made a huge mistake by selling Tyrod Taylor to the masses. To be fair, all of us enabled him, so maybe the blame lies with us all? DEEP. Regardless, our amazing “production value” returns as Tehol once again braves the highway as a professional driver and talker at the same time, which made it sound like we recorded near an ocean. Only if that ocean was full of low-volume background static. Surf those electromagnetic radiation waves braaaah. I’m also happy to introduce a special conversation in the middle of the cast that I had with John Sahly, a senior writer over at Pro Football Weekly. We’re set to face off against each other in Pod Vader’s BlogTalkRadio League, and talk about not just our upcoming face-off, but what exactly a “fantasy expert” is. Hint: Not much! After that short reprieve, Tehol, Zach, and myself finish up our Week 2 previews. Enjoy the show! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Football is back, so naturally, that’s what we talked about in Episode 5 of the Razzball Football Podcast. Tehol and Zach joined me with special guest Ramona from SportsGalPal. And, as the title denotes, we did that with PRODUCTION VALUE. That was the theme of the night, because we had Tehol talking on the phone while driving, which is totally something we don’t condone. Zach eating his mic was a nice issue to have. And I left music on here and there because what do I know about closing windows and pressing buttons on my mouse? Hint? I. Don’t. Know. Much. Despite all this, we do get to every Week 1 matchup with some thoughts, pontifications some would say (probably just me), and predictions for you to consume. Hopefully with an alcoholic beverage. Or some tacos. I don’t know, spice up your experience man. SPICE IT UP. (Is that a saying?) Whatever, Episode 5 is after the jump!

After a week off (not by choice), we’re back at it with our fourth episode of the season. And when I mentioned a week off, it wasn’t like we were all on a tropical island drinking Mai Tais (well, Tehol might have been). Nope, we recorded what was probably one of the best Podcast ever… Zach, Jen, Kevin, Tehol, and yours truly was doing our best impression of Dylan and spitting hot fire. But alas, technology railed against us in our time of need and all was lost. But do not fret, do not fear, Tehol and I are back and better than ever, delving into the unknown knowns (LOL, thanks Rumsfeld) of Tony Romo’s injury-palooza, Teddy Bridgewater’s 21 leg explosions, Colin Kaepernicks (valiant?) stand against the man, and our season preview of what teams finish where and how the NFL playoffs will shape and our Super Bowl winners. A betting man would expect us to pick the Seahawks and Chargers, so I guess this is my way of saying you should become a betting man (or woman). But still, it should be at least entertaining to see how much verbal calculus it takes us to get there… right? RIGHT? Right!
Anyhow, here’s Episode
5 4 :( of the Razzball Football Podcast!
Special Note: Next week, we’ll have our full panel going over the latest NFL news and the first week slate of games, including special guest Ramona Rice from our friends at Sports Gal Pal!Please, blog, may I have some more?
Now, if you’ve been a reader here at the football side of Razz, you know that I try to stay away from the title of “expert” whenever possible, except in reference to watching porn (the single life!), as I’m just a dude that likes writing about football… that’s it. But whenever this nomenclature comes up, you have that one guy (or girl… please?) explaining that we are not experts and blah-blah-yadda-yadda, ef the establishment! In which case, I kinda agree, but can’t we just accept that this is the title of the league and I’m not really going to take the time to say: 10-team league full of seasoned-writers that decided to get together to form a league so we can see who reigns supreme? That’s right, I’m just going to put it in the lede to take up space until we get to the Podcast link…
Anyhow, like the title denotes, this Podcast (on the Blogtalkradio Network) was recorded during our “EXPERT, MUTHAF*CKER” draft, and among the teams, you’ll find those “seasoned” fantasy vets such as ESPN’s former Producer Pod Vader, Fantasy Insiders‘ Joel Henard, SportsGalPal‘s Ramona Rice, Her Fantasy Football’s Brandon Marianne Lee, Matt Chatham from Football by Football, Wally Spurlin from Fantasy Football Sharks, D-Rex (yes, that’s his name, no, he’s not a dinosaur, unfortunately) from Pyromaniac, Daily Fantasy Sports Rankings‘ Doug Norrie, Pro Football Weekly‘s John Sahly, and Jay from Razzball (hey, that’s me!)
I’ll have my own analysis of the draft in a few short days, but in the meantime, enjoy the show! Please, blog, may I have some more?
