I’d call it an average result for an average day for an average life. It happens, especially in math. And that was a math joke. I believe they call that “rock bottom”. But don’t worry, playoffs are coming up, and those of you remaining have at least one team with a chance to make it there. If so, let’s figure out how to do it…

Here are your Week 9 Rankings!

Select the “Flex” tab if you need a more complete picture to decide your starts and sits. Use the “OP” tab for 2QB Leagues. And you can access our Half PPR and PPR rankings using the drop down box in the top left of our rankings when you select the RB, WR, TE, or Flex positions. Any and all questions will be answered below…

  1. cory says:
    (link)

question of the week: peyton barber or antone smith? half ppr league, i’m leaning on antone now. your thoughts?

    • Cram It says:
      (link)

@cory: Do you guys not look at the rankings in the very article you’re posting on? Serious question. I’m just trying to understand the thought process. Thanks! I’ll buy you a bourbon for the insight.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@cory: Haha, you ain’t kidding. In PPR, I think you go Antone.

      • Btdrnks says:
        (link)

@Jay: Looks like Barber is getting the nod as the starter…

        • William Hung says:
          (link)

@Btdrnks: split even early on – probably gotta give the edge to Antone since he plays passing downs

  2. Zandy says:
    (link)

    Two moves left this week…
My only two WR avail to start are Cobb and Montgomery.
Can I waiver for a randomly dropped McKinnon or do you think both Cobb and Montgomery could sit?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: I think they both could sit, but I don’t see it. I think at least one of them starts. Though, McKinnon isn’t a game changer, he should be owned.

  3. Packers says:
    (link)

Thanks again. It looks like you think S. Ware will play this week. Looking at the OP rankings in a 1/2 ppr I should start Ware over Fleener in one league and Ware over L. Murry in another. Do you feel he plays?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Packers: Yeah, this early in the week, I’m usually bullish.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Packers: To answer you further, I’m just assuming he will, I’ll be updating rankings if he doesn’t. At this point in the year, I think the teams have a better idea of what’s going to happen, and while the reports are usually not helpful, I think it’s the best we can go off of. Not an ideal situation, but if he does play, yeah, I like him more this week than those two.

      • CMUTimmah says:
        (link)

@Jay: I think the signing of a Running Back tells me the team is leaning towards him NOT playing… but with Charles going to IR… it’s a tough tell. They might just be replacing Charles.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@CMUTimmah: Yeah, I would agree with that, for sure.

  4. SunnyB says:
    (link)

If TY misses the game I assume Moncrief if top 15 in half ppr? Maybe top 10…

    Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @SunnyB: I’d think so, yeah. Probably 15ish.

  5. Nightpandas says:
    (link)

    Morning Jay, 12 team .5ppr

Worth dropping Shepard or Hurns for Britt?

Still debating between Winston and Dak this week…

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nightpandas: Sure, I think it’s fine. At this point, just go with the hot hand. Moves on the edge like this probably won’t have a negative affect since we’re getting so close to the end.

  6. Nick says:
    (link)

I paid $2 for Rams D this week to fill in but see you like SD by a bit…little worried as I have Rams in both leagues this week & if Cam is moving better, could be trouble..Steelers are available in both plus SD in one…should I make swap in either leagues? One includes yards allowed so 500+ is -5pts!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: Yeah, but I think the Rams will be fine too. I think holding is okay, or split the difference? Rams have better personnel, but I like the Chargers matchup.

  7. Nick says:
    (link)

    2 other questions…

    1) would you under any circumstances start Big Ben over Dak attack?
    2) cosidering plugging Maclin back in lineup as Foles is in & Maclin had a TD last week with him at the helm. Would have to bench either Snead @SF or D Adams v Colts or take Lat Murray out of flex v. Denver?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: Eh, probably not until he plays for one game. Might be a bad rule, but it’s something I’ve done many times before. I’d probably bench Adams there, they are pretty similar.

      • Nick says:
        (link)

@Jay: With Maclin sidelined, stick with Adams probably right?

Also with a few guys returning on Rams defense, I think they should be in better shape this week, I’m hoping..

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Nick: Yeah, now that he’s sidelined, go wtih Adams I think.

  8. Benny says:
    (link)

In a vacuum, what are your thoughts on James Starks ROS? Do you think once he’s active he’ll be the lead guy in the backfield getting the bulk of the carries?

Separately (by coincidentally has Starks as one of the players as well) what are your thoughts on this trade. Doug Baldwin & James Starks – for – Golden Tate & Chris Hogan

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Benny: I think so, but with a limited ceiling. But McCarthy has always loved him. On the trade, I think it’s lateral. I’d rather have the Tate side, but if I need a RB, I think it’s fair and I’d probably buy Starks here.

  9. Brown L says:
    (link)

Ten team league, shallow benches, and IDP format combine to make a ton of position players available on the wire, especially during bye week madness. My current RBs are: D. Johnson, Bernard, J. Howard, Ingram, T. Coleman, and Kerley. I also just picked up Hightower. Would you drop any of those for Asiata, D. Henry, Jennings, or one of the TB backs? Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brown L: I’d probably switch Kerley for Jennings, I kinda like him going forward.

  10. Cram It says:
    (link)

I like the Steelers ranking. I was going to stream them, but it was based on nothing but a gut feeling. They have 3 picks this year! And they’re not home. I’m currently going with Miami. Would you be so kind as to indulge me with your pitch for Pitt?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Cram It: I liked what I saw in some instances last week, and they’ve had success against the Ravens. Also, I think the Ravens offense is a bit overrated right now. The rankings will be updated a few times, and they move a little back, but I do like them this week.

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

@Jay: cam heyward back for one.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @goodfold2: Yeah, great poin there.

  11. Brian says:
    (link)

Would you rather be holding Sammy Watkins on your bench of picking up Kendall Wright in .5 ppr league ? TY

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brian: A loaded question in terms of where your team is at. Need someone now? Wright. Can you afford to stash? Watkins is worthy of it.

  12. Jtbleezt says:
    (link)

Since I need running back help which trade is best for me Ppr league

    Greg Olsen for forte
Greg Olsen and Howard for forte and riddick
    Howard for riddick

    • Jtbleezt says:
      (link)

@Jtbleezt: if he won’t do Olsen Howard for riddick and forte what player can I add in
Sterling shephard, jj Nelson, Terrance west, Corey Coleman?

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Jtbleezt: See if he likes Nelson.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jtbleezt: I like the second two. Forte is nice, and fair, but a little risky. All of them are actually fair, but I like getting Forte and Riddick there.

      • CMUTimmah says:
        (link)

@Jay: If you are trading Olsen in PPR- and adding a RB, you better be upgrading 2 RB slots by a good margin. Riddick and Forte at the minimum… because you’re likely dropping 10 points per game on average from Olsen to a TE2… Sterling Sheppard is a tough roster at this point. Coleman has more upside than value on the trade market. JJ Nelson the same. If you can’t get two RBs, I’m not sure you’re upgrading your team. Howard for Riddick is likely a no go for the other team… unless the guy is a Bears fan or something. PPR Riddick is in the better situation and the better play.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@CMUTimmah: While I agree with the point you’re making, I’d point out that it’s not the only aspect I’m looking at. I’m also trying to create a wedge against risk, especially with Forte, who carries some injury and age risk. On top of that, Riddick projects pretty strongly in PPR leagues. And lastly, I’m looking at roster positions. One TE spot to two, even three RB slots to fill… What the idea here is, we’re creating depth, creating options, and pinpointing PPR-friendly production, all for a position that’s mainly inconsistent in terms of scoring, and one that as much more talent availability on the wire than running backs. That’s just how I process this though.

  13. Buzzed lightyear says:
    (link)

    Howdy!

    .5 ppr league trade Q.

Would you do this if you are me.
I deal Melvin Gordon + Hilton

I receive Gronk + davanta Freeman

My RBs DJ, Gordon, andre Ellington, Tim Hightower, James Starks, Bibbs, and Derrick Henry too

My WRs Hopkins, Hilton, sanders, moncrief, fuller, Shepard, hogan, Corey Coleman, Watkins

My TE situation Rudolph & Witten

I was trying for Gronk since the Gronk owner also has graham & ebron too

    Thanks man

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Buzzed lightyear: Sup! I’d hold here simply because beyond Johnson, I think Gordon is your only sure two. Freeman is too risky at the moment I think.

  14. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

    Pick 2:

    Forte
    Ajayi
    Booker

    0.5 PPR – 6 pts per TD – 3 point bonus at 85 yards receiving/100 yards rushing – 6 point bonus at 135 yards receiving/150 yards rushing

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Wilsonian: Forte and Ajayi. Close between Booker and Ajayi though. Both carry risk. A lot of it.

      • Wilsonian says:
        (link)

@Jay: that’s who I have in. I have Freeman in, too. Forte and Ajayi are RB2 and Flex. Thanks man.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Wilsonian: Ah, nice, good luck Wilson!

  15. ryanoger says:
    (link)

    .5 ppr

Should I lose Gillislee or Langford for Prosise, or hold? Thoughts on R Matthews ROS?

    thanks jay!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@ryanoger: Eh, Hold there. I like Mathews as a RB3 and Flex option, but he’ll be underwhelming sometimes.

  16. William Hung says:
    (link)

Whelp – looks like I’m going to be buying a ticket on the Kaep cruise ship – hopefully it won’t be like the Titanic!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@William Hung: Choo choo? Do cruise ships still make noise like that?

      • William Hung says:
        (link)

@Jay: Upon further reflection, what made you change your mind on Kaep? After we talked yesterday, I didn’t think you’d have him in the top 10 let alone 6-7 spots ahead of Stafford and Tannehill.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@William Hung: Nothing. Not agreeing, just making noise.

          What are your other options?

          • William Hung says:
            (link)

@Jay: I could sit tight with Stafford or roll with Kaep, McNown, or Tannehill (since I am rolling with both Landry and Parker at WR)

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@William Hung: Hmm. Yeah, thinking about it and kinda browsing through my rankings, he probably is your first choice. How bizarre this season has been.

      • William Hung says:
        (link)

@Jay: that reminds me of Emily Blunt’s SNL commercial where she said she was the actual train in the movie

  17. Mike says:
    (link)

Your so high on Antonio gates but have him so low all the time?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mike: Health has been a factor. I’m encouraged that he’s almost there. Henry still a big part of the offense, but Rivers trusts him the most in the red zone.

  18. Jedimasters says:
    (link)

Good morning Jay. Often at times we don’t talk about kickers because well, they are kickers. I have to ask, how do you determine your rankings in that position?

Start/Sit: Bench Hilton for Hightower in my flex even if Hilton suits up??

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jedimasters: Yeah, but Rudy has me beat every week with them for sure. I think if Hilton suits up, I’d start him. Not sure what kind of split we’ll see right now.

  19. Ted says:
    (link)

Why so high on Jack Doyle?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Ted: It’s a matchup thing, and I think it’s a game plan thing for the Colts. I also like Doyle a bit.

  20. Brian says:
    (link)

16 team dynasty league. I need a fill in for gronk so either need to drop one or roll with an empty spot. I’m in 3rd at 6-2 and going up against a team with no QB this week. My starters are Tyrod, Julio, DT, leveon, hyde, Tyrell, and ty montgomery. of these who would you drop? some of them are on my roster as dynasty stashes and foles is there to keep him away from my opponent but I can drop him tomorrow sp that he won’t clear waivers until next week so that would do the trick too i suppose.
janis, smallwood, dujuan harris (handcuff to hyde), kessler, foles, mike floyd, torrey smith, tyreke hill,

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brian: I think Tyrell is your drop there. Unless you are heavily favored, I probably wouldn’t punt a cat.

  21. Brian says:
    (link)

and btw, the TEs I’m looking at are baaaad….donnell, tye, dion sims, trey burton, erik swoope, marcedes lewis, toilolo, josh hill. so i guess the 2nd question is which of this scrap do you pick up?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brian: Eesh, that is kinda bad. Okay, so maybe punting isn’t a terrible idea. I’d consider it here only because a lot of these guys will put up zeroes any how.

      • Brian says:
        (link)

        @Jay: thanks.

  22. omar says:
    (link)

    12 team 1pt PPR.

Currently rostering Gronk & Eifert. Looking to move Gronk to shore up my WR/RB slots for a playoff run (currently 7-1).

    Thoughts on this trade:

    Give
    Gronk
    Ajayi
R Kelley (trade oartner owns Matt Jones)

    Get
    Amari Cooper
    Devonta Freeman

    Current roster:
    QB – Big Bem
    WR – A-Rob
    WR – Nuk
    RB – Lamar Miller
    RB – Ajayi
    TE – Gronk
    Flx – Diggs
    Bn – Eifert
    Bn – Dion Lewis
    Bn – Tyrell Williams
    Bn – Gillislie
    Bn – Mariota
    Bn – Kelley

Thougts? Just don’t trust A-Rob and Nuk at the moment. Also, I hate for this to factor into my decision, but it keeps running through my mind; is there a possibility the Pats sit starters in week 16 if they’ve clinched home field by then?

    Thanks

    Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@omar: Yeah, I don’t trust them too much either. And I think they do sit those players, yes.

Anyhow, to the trade. I think it’s fair, and I’m okay with it. That being said, if it were me, I’m probably holding just because Cooper just had his best week performance and is at his highest value, and Freeman isn’t necessarily consistent either. I’d like to see where Ajayi goes with this.

      • omar says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

Appreciate the insight. If I decide not to move on this one, I’m going try to put together a package to move Gronk for Mike Evans next week.

        Thanks again.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@omar: For what it’s worth, I like that idea a lot. And no worries!

  23. Blake says:
    (link)

is TY montgomery really going to play?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Blake: That’s between him and his kidney. I think so, but I’m not confident.

      • William Hung says:
        (link)

@Jay: It’s the reason I have Rudy’s boy Kendall Wright as insurance. Both playing at 4:25

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@William Hung: Yeah, agreed. Rudy is loving Wright, and I want to believe.

  24. Nightpandas says:
    (link)

Ry Matthews or D Henry this week (.5ppr)

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nightpandas: Coinflip, but I’m going with Mathews at the moment.

  25. Clyde Prompto says:
    (link)

Hi, Jay. In a .5 PPR 12-teamer, would you burn your #1 waiver priority on Will Fuller? Currently my stable of WRs consists of Antonio Brown, John Brown, Devante Parker, DGB, and a stashed Sammy Watkins.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Clyde Prompto: I think I’d hold. I like Fuller, but you have plenty of pieces to work with there. Better to have the one and not need it, then to need it and not have it.

      • Clyde Prompto says:
        (link)

        @Jay: DEEP AF. Thanks!

  26. Big W says:
    (link)

    Hey there,

Didn’t see Shady ranked… so you’re fairly confident he won’t play then?

    • Big W says:
      (link)

@Big W: Hey, just noticed on Rotoworld that they think Shady will play Monday night after getting in a limited practice today. If he does play (vs. Seahawks), where would you rank him?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Big W: Yeah, latest I saw was that there wasn’t much faith. I’ll be re-updated later tonight with that news probably.

  27. Joe says:
    (link)

My roster is deep because all of our rosters are deep and it’s a keeper element. It’s a yahoo PPR league and we play QB-WR-WR-WR-RB-RB-Flex-Flex-TE-DST-K.

Question: should I grab Pitta to play at TE or go without TE and grab Montgomery for WR depth?

    I have:
    QB – Prescott, Cousins (bye)
RB – Gordon, Ingram, Sproles, Miller (bye), Howard (bye), White (bye),
WR – Brown, Bryant, Crabtree, Landry, Marshall [and I’m playing *all* of them this week]
    TE – Miller (bye)
    K – Bryant
    DST – BUF

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Joe: I don’t think you should punt here. I love Ty, and he should be on a team, but yeah, I would just get Pitta nad hope for points.

  28. Willy is slick says:
    (link)

It’s thirsty Thursday jay woo hoo!

.5 ppr league for ROS as simply depth would you rather have Bibbs (I don’t own Booker ) or drop for either Alf Morris, farrow (I own Gordon), paul Perkins, zenner, buck Allen , Deandre Washington, Spiller now on the jets. This isn’t for this week just for depth / upside

    Gracias!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Willy is slick: Woooo! I would want Washington there probably.

  29. morgan says:
    (link)

AJ Green is on bye this week and I need a win. Just got offered Doug Baldwin (11th round keeper next year) and latavius murray for my AJ Green. Would you accept this trade? 12 team standard

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@morgan: I like the idea of it, but I think you keep Green here.

  30. Toby says:
    (link)

Is Bortles worth dropping for Cap or Tannehill or do you think the garbage time magic will continue? My other QB is Palmer so I need someone for this week and ROS given how bad he’s been this year.

Also, do you really think Amari Cooper can produce this week against Denver? Would you really start him over Maclin who goes up against the porous Jax DEF?

    TY

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Toby: Yes, that’s fine. If Bortles is your started, you should be streaming. I’m starting Cooper here, but I know there’s risk.

  31. Chad says:
    (link)

Deal my Ajayi and Reed for Olsen and Landry?

My RB are elliott, freeman, ware, ajayi, t west, c west, morris
My WR are Jeffery, Julio, Lovkett, Wright

Figured Olsen more reliable than reed and landry big upgrade at 3rd WR.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Chad: Yeah, I’m okay with that with all the RB depth you have. But there is a chance that Ajayi and Reed do outperform, just with less risk. Sounding like you prefer that path, so in that regard, I think it’s a good deal.

  32. William Hung says:
    (link)

Looks like DuJuan Harris is the next man up – is he any good?

    • William Hung says:
      (link)

let me rephrase – what are his chances of reaching “Ajayi level”

      • Cram It says:
        (link)

@William Hung: The chances rushes for 200 yards a game? Why, 100% of course!

      • Cram It says:
        (link)

@William Hung: Want to try rephrasing again? Like a Harris or Player X question, which is what your’e going to end up asking anyway.

@William Hung: I find this interesting: Focusing on more fantasy relevant stats, we turn to Pro Football Focus’ Premium Stats. Perhaps most impressively, Harris led the Green Bay backfield by a wide margin in Elusive Rating with a 39.2 rating, which was higher than Trent Richardson, Reggie Bush, Stevan Ridley, Ray Rice and Matt Forte, among others.

It’s quite old, three years, so I’m thinking the pedigree has faded. Does he have breakout potential? I’d say it’s very limited. Best case is a Justin Forsett type of resurgence, but I don’t feel that while talking about him.

Who is your RB of choice for the rest of this short season- Prosise or Hightower?

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@Rondo: Probably Hightower just because coaches have a tendency to do dumb things. Add into that, Rawls might complicate things upon his return.

My amari cooper(25$) for Pryor and a 1st round pick(we do a 1 round snake off last years values)

    Possible keepers
    Gurley(35$), Ware(3$), Ingram(9$), cooks(42$), watkins(21$), cooper(25$),

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@Big league choo: What’s the dollar value on Pryor. I’m liking the deal right now, but it depends on long term cost of Pryor.

      • Big league choo says:
        (link)

@Jay: 3$ we only keep 3 players though

        • Jay

          Jay says:

@Big league choo: Yeah, I like that deal for you. Gives you a usable keeper on the cheap, plus a 1st rounder.

Damn you nailed the RB’s and won me 100 smackers in DFS dude thanks!!

PPR, thoughts on trading Cooper,J HIll and Montgomery for David Johnson?

It would leave me with Ajayi, Antonio Brown, Landry and B Marshall at WR/Flex. Looking to get a beast lineup for down the stretch.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Michael: Oh nice, man, congrats! I’m just a guide any how, all of you have to make the decisions that count, so really it’s you guys and your process that should take credit.

It’s a big trade, and I like the boldness. If there’s any guy I want to consolidate in, it’s David Johnson. And you seem to have plenty of depth for the run.

  36. JimmyJackJames says:

Half PPR league – I’m offering Tate/McKinnon in two separate deals – one for Fitz and one for Michael Thomas.

The alternative is I’ll likely be dropping McKinnon and they are both on my bench.

Name value seems like a lot but I feel like the upgrade in WR is probably worth it – thoughts?

    Thanks Jay

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@JimmyJackJames: Yeah, this is fine, I like them both when you look at them in a group.

@Jay: Thanks man – I’m hoping to get Larry but thinking Michael Thomas is more likely – I like Thomas a fair amount more than Golden, especially considering the Lions bye in week 10. Am I drinking too much Thomas kool-aid?

          Jay says:

jay just want your advise as to what you would do — sorry i shouldve been more clear earlier

so i need 2 WR – only have Cobb and Montgomery
    I have 2 moves left
    I have Dallas Def
McKinnon clears waivers in the morning
My league locks all Free Agents at 1pm into waivers

Are you waiting to see what comes out of Cobb and Montgomery? Are you trying to grab McKinnon now or waiting to see for more GB info – McKinnon provides mostly trade value for me based on roster but still a lot of guys hurting for RBs? Would you grab Wright now? If I have an extra move I can swap Dallas def for SD….

    Std
    Eli (Carr)
    Cobb Montgomery (Hopkins Alshon Watkins)
Gurley JStew Ingram (Ware Hightower Barber)
    Graham
    Dallas

    How would you play it?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: I’d try to pick up McKinnon here, yeah. I don’t think you need Wright in this situation because your WRs looking pretty good.

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@Jay: you I’ll go McKinnon and hope both packers are a go. If so, maybe I’ll defense swap. Otherwise I’ll grab wright just as a bye week fill in

        1. RB: Bell, Gordon
        WR: Green, Edelman
        Flex: Hill or Bernard

        2. RB: Bell, Hill

      (link)

@Btdrnks: Hmm, I think I actually might want to stream that position instead. I’m not crazy with your WRs, don’t get me wrong, I love the depth, but there’s not a star here, an elite producer. Most likely, you’ll have to play matchups here, and the best way to do that is to keep your solid options intact.

      • Btdrnks says:
        (link)

@Jay: So hold onto Coleman and stream my TE position instead? I’m cool with that. Am i am liking the upside this week for Hooper and decided to run him out this week over Witten.

@Jay: I didn’t watch the game, was Barber less than impressive? If so, maybe I hang on to Stafford and drop Barber for Kaep or am I still better off swapping the QBs and then dropping Barber for Dixon?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@William Hung: I’m pretty sure all their RBs were pretty unimpressive. I think still switch on QBs and probably checking out Dixon.

            (link)

I checked a couple of forums and Antone Smith got hurt pretty bad? Some people are saying it looked like a season ender… does that mean Peyton should be getting some good volume?

            • Cram It says:
              (link)

@William Hung: No, every body is hurt except Barber, but he won’t get the volume. Because that makes sense.

              (link)

@William Hung: I’d be hesitant there until we get a bit more news… all their running backs looked like a mess, some of it may be line issues too. I’m probably going to rewatch later today.

        • Cram It says:
          (link)

@William Hung: You’re gonna be 2-7 and concerned about getting Dixon for Barber? That’s your big plan to help your team not suck?

who are some of your biggest WR or RB targets for here on out? in terms of buy lows or hidden gems that could be potential league winners

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Nothing too crazy. I think you have Watkins as a stash, that’s probably a name I’d mention. Guys like Wheaton, Brown, Floyd all have a chance, but I’m pretty bearish. Tate seems to be a buy-low. Maclin too. I sorta like both. Rawls, Drake, Asita in PPR… but these are low-impact guys. Langford and Jones have a chance, but I’m not excited.

  52. Zandy says:

    send mcKinnon for Corey Coleman?

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Zandy: I’d hold on both. His ceiling is low, but a starting RB I think does better in terms of value then hit or miss WR3’s. Tyrell is close though.

        • Zandy says:
          (link)

16 team dynasty, team based around ARI, so clearly i have tons of subs this week.
QB flacco OR one of the CLE guys (have chainsaw in stash slot, have to bring him out this week unless he’s inactive)
RB (2) antone smith (had to start him, couldn’t risk activating hyde yet and him not play at all, dropped barber pregame, have 1 spot open for a RB in case hyde does play)/daily show
    WR (3) kearse/tyrell/evans
    TE (1) ebron
flex hightower (if hyde plays he goes here)
BN (bunch of stuff, only relevant part) hawkins CLE. you appear MUCH higher on r.anderson NYJ/conley KC this week than consensus, which has hawkins in near tie with robby (yet behind conley as well)? please elaborate, as if tyrell doesn’t go and maybe even if evans is out next week one of hawkins/robby anderson/conley could stick on roster as backup, depending on how many of john brown/floyd/eddie royal/starks and some others are back healthy (fantrax so we can stash ANYBODY who even has any kind of injury, or bye, or suspended/inactive). we cannot add from FA anybody suspended/on PUP nor IR/inactive, but we CAN stash people on byes/short term injuries, and i have tons of them.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo: Robby Anderson has had a few solid performances lately, with some clutch targets and catches, so I’m kinda thinking there’s something here. Probably more than my peers. Limited WR3 upside I think. Out of those three, I think he’s worth a look.

i hadn’t looked at the team section at top in a bit, good night there’s some movement i wasn’t aware the level of:
CIN is the 24th best (i’d have thought higher)
CHI are 15th! (i knew they’ve gotten better, but that’s a LOT more than i thought)
DET is 32nd! (i didn’t think they were good but not worst)
BAL all the way up to 6th
    SD is 7th! WTF
MIA (13th) and NYG (10th) also higher than i thought.
    http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef
for those that don’t know, these metrics take into account who these teams actually play, so none of that scheduling luck helps them, like just checking fantasy points for would do.

PPR RB’s, I have BOOKER, J STEW & C WEST. I need to start 2 of the 3. J STEW has scored me 18 & 19 pts the past two weeks (although last week I had him on the bench vs ARI damnit!) It’s tough for me to justify sitting him again, but I have BOOKER & C WEST starting. What do you think?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@cdadare: I think Booker is ceiling to Stews floor, so combining West and Stew is pretty solid in terms of mitigating risk.

  59. Sano Chance in Hell says:
    (link)

    A few add/drop questions:

PPR, 10 team league – who’s a better stash: Dion Lewis or Corey Coleman?

PPR, only 3 bench spots, I’m sitting Brady and Eifert this week and I have Ty Montgomery and Donte Moncrief. I can start one of them and otherwise would need to drop the other for a TE. Leaning towards dropping Moncrief (on bye next week, so less likely to be added by another needy team) and starting Montgomery – alternative is to start no TE and stash them both. Thoughts?

.5 PPR, 16 team league – if Hyde sits, would you prefer to start Kenneth Dixon or Dujuan Harris?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Sano Chance in Hell: Lewis on the first one. I’d start Ty, so I think you have it rright. I would start Harris there probably, but double check my rankings if that happens.

WR – D. Thomas, M. Jones, Coates, JJ Nelson and Shepard

I’ve been offered J. Jones for Thomas and Ware.
I’d appreciate your thoughts on the offer.

          • vrugg says:
            (link)

@Jay: His RB’s are: T. West, C. West, Bernard, Dixon, and R. Kelley. Looks like he’s handcuffing Ware/ C. West and T. West/Dixon. Don’t know who he’d be willing to part with, yet. Targets?

@vrugg: I think getting Kelley back would be enough. I know this will weaken your RBs, but getting Jones over DT is a pretty substantial thing.

Would you take that trade ? I would have to drop Rawls or Jennings for a roster spot .

McKinnon was also dropped and is on waivers . If I don’t make the trade , I could grab him . (Have the 6th waiver claim, so may not get him)

Had a quick question regarding D/ST ROS.

I currently have philly D who has been tearing it up lately. looking at the rest of their schedule, they have Atl, Sea, GB, Cin, Was, Bal, NYG which is a pretty tough stretch till the end. Patriots D is on waivers and I have a roster spot open. Their ROS schedule is pretty easy with Sea, SF, NYJ, LA, Bal, Den, NYJ which on paper looks MUCH better. Would you ride the hot hand in Philly? or scoop up the Pats while they are still on bye? Appreciate the insight!

@Jwrry: Feeling Jennings, but double check my rankings tomorrow night.

12 teamer where we have deep ass benches but roster restrictions like 6 max RB, 6 WR etc. 3 QB, i currently have stafford/cousins/mccown. appears mccown’s lost his job for now. who’s best of these:
kessler, goff (ranked highly ROS by recent updating decent at QB ranking FP guys, actually highest of these), cutler, brock lobster (don’t see how this answer would be him though)

Thoughts about some swaps in my ppr league …

Dion lewis, Asiata, Sheppard, and Martellus Bennett are available

Swap out McKinnon or j. Rodgers for any of the above ?

    Qb – ryan
    Rb – freeman, forte
    Wr – Julio, jordy Nelson
    Te – kelce
    Flex – Cobb, c. West
Bench – d. Walker, diggs, ware, j. Rodgers, luck, McKinnon

    Thanks !

@Old Dirty: trade luck for a WR

@Old Dirty: I think Rodgers for Lewis isn’t crazy, definitely a future-in-mind move.

        @Jay:

Rawls is also available …lewis or Rawls ROS?

        Thanks

            @Jay:

Sorry but I have one more question…

I have vinateri and gostkowski was dropped . Would you use that open slot for him over dion lewis? And then grab lewis or Rawls next week whenever Vinatieri has his bye .

            Thanks again

@Old Dirty: Of course! I’m fine with that strat, sure. Gostkowski and Tucker are two kickers who are pretty money.

14 teamer PPR where i F’ed up and didn’t realize earlier when i dropped antone smith for d.harris (harris not LIKELY to play for me this week, but anybody that had hyde last year could remember how much longer he was out than original reports claimed) that i now only have 1 move left for week. issue with that is right after i do this BOTH one of my LB’s (we start 2 DB, 2 LB, 1 DL), e.kendricks MIN and TE henry (have eifert also but on bye) get ruled out for week. so i need to either grab a fill in TE OR a LB, can’t be both. i know you aren’t IDP guy particularly, but i can give you some averages that might help.
TE options: virgil green, vance mcdonald, swoope, j.james. guys you have ranked 19-24th range. on the season the 19th per game TE gets 8.99 per game (it’s fiedorowicz). this is using yahoo, so guessing they don’t count any game a guy doesn’t play at all.
LB options: bellore (27th-30th at the only 2 sites i know that do a decent IDP by position ranking), and highest this week. 27th-30th LB averages on the season 9.94-10.14 per game.
go with which? it certainly seems that LB’s of this range have for sure better floors than weak ass TE’s. according to yahoo projections i’m about tied in points this week, but team overall is 7-1 and doing fine.
    2. also guessing regardless which guy i go with henry himself is the drop, as i’m reading he’s not all that likely for week 10 either, and his last 2 weeks were pretty garbage anyway (guessing that’s from gates being healthier than before), kendricks himself is the 11th best per game LB at 12.29 points per game. and his injury is a concussion he played the entire game through and only afterwards was determined to have concussion, and will have till nov 13th to get right. after this week i could either use this roster spot as backup TE or backup QB (luck’s bye next week anyway)

@Eli Man Penguin Boy: scratch #2 entirely, i forgot we have 2 IR spots and yahoo now allows anybody out to be put in those. so i stashed henry in it. i might be able to leave him in it next week and still have a QB.

    • Jay

@Eli Man Penguin Boy: Yeah, not something I really play. Which position has the highest scoring potential? Like, TE’s usually get around 10ish points, what about LB’s? I think since your record is pretty good, I’d go with the player that projects for the highest amount of points. Just go for the home run. And Henry is fine as a drop, sure.

      • Eli Man Penguin Boy says:
        (link)

@Jay: a top 10 weekly LB scores about 15-16. bellore himself has had 2 weeks in a row like that in weeks 5 and 6. he’s the new MLB since bowman went out.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Eli Man Penguin Boy: Oh, interesting. I’d go LB here then, because I think the range for TE’s is like 5-10, especially with those names you’re listing.

    1. Need to lose one to pick up a DEF this week…Langford, Gillislee, Dixon, or Jacquizz?

    2. Based on rankings…I’m gonna go with the Panthers DEF this week but have the option of picking up Miami with their juicy match up or your Chargers D?

    thanks jay!
    ryan

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@ryanoger: I think you can switch with Gillislee. I like the Charges defense this week, but I feel like the Panthers are the safe choice here.

Hey, Jay. Who do you prefer ros: Fuller, JJ Nelson, Inman or Kendall Wright? Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@Jerry: Probably Nelson is the safe pick here. Same with Fuller. But the lottery ticket is Wright, I’m kinda intrigued.

@Zandy: I’d put them like this: Hopkins, Alshon, Cobb, Baldwin, Pryor. but they are clumped really close.

Hey Jay, Who should I start from these three WR this week?
    T.Hill
    C. Beasley
    S. Sheppard

    Thanks.

  73. Zandy says:

So sounds like Cobb is likely to sit… So I have to drop Barber

And Ingram and Hightower are splitting carries… (Not sure how much your rankings reflect this)
Are you flexing McKinnon or Ingram?

Sorry also what’s driving Inman over Wright this week?
