Since trading has ended we have decided to cut our Buy/Sell list. We will resume it at the beginning of the 2010 season.  Be sure to stay tuned to the “Comments” section below because we continually update injury status changes, etc. all the way up to game time. And as always we answer your start/sit quandaries.

Matchup Savers

Quarterback:

Mark Bulger – The Rams could get completely blown out in this contest. This should be a classic case of junk time production from Bulger.

Matthew Stafford – This could be a big week for this emerging quarterback. You know Calvin Johnson is anxious to have a productive outing after all the adversity he’s been through this year; it’d be nice to see him finish strong.

Josh Freeman – You have to imagine the Bucs are going to get blown out in this game. That could lead to some big production for Freeman in Fantasy. The odds of him throwing interceptions are higher too but the yardage/touchdown possibilities should outweigh that.

Running Back:

Kevin Faulk – He somehow finds his way on this list every week. The Patriots are facing the Jets and Faulk is projected for over 8.5 in PPR. You could do a lot worse if you’re hurting for a spot starter.

Maurice Morris – Projected for almost 7 points in PPR with the juicy matchup against the Browns. He’s another great hold for the remainder of the season; Kevin Smith has battled inconsistency and injuries and I can foresee them replacing him.

Chris Jennings – Who the heck is that? At the beginning of the season it was James Davis we were all looking to as our Fantasy savior in Cleveland. Then he got hurt and we all turned to Jerome Harrison. He showed flashes of brilliance in a couple of outings while Jamal Lewis was hurt. Now he has been usurped by Chris Jennings on the depth chart. There aren’t a lot of Sleepers set to emerge (other than via injury) and this is one of them. He’s projected for almost 5 points this week in PPR to boot.

Wide Receiver

Robert Meachem – His projections never seem to be very good but his performances, as of late in particular, have been rock solid. Drew Brees should start slinging the ball more effectively any time now and with Lance Moore battling injuries Meachem should benefit from that.

Sammie Stroughter – As I noted above the Bucs should get blown out in this one and Stroughter could have a solid Fantasy day.

Jordy Nelson – The 49’ers run defense is mad stout, yo. If the Packers are smart they’ll throw the football early and often. Jordy Nelson is a poor man’s Wes Welker (it seems like there are a lot of those these days) and I can see him approaching double digits in PPR.

Lance Long – In PPR he could prove useful down the stretch as a cagey possession type guy (see Jordy Nelson above).

Tight End

Kevin Boss – He’s no world-beater and Eli Manning has largely ignored the Tight End this season. Boy that’s a resounding vote of confidence, huh? Well he’s started to get more targets as of late and there’s not a ton out there in terms of waiver wire Tight Ends right now.

John Carlson – He is productive Tight End as it is but with the Bye weeks over you should be able to find him on your free agent list.

Todd Heap – He may not be that exciting but he catches passes ever week and sneaks his way in to the double-digit category when he nabs a touchdown.

D/ST

Detroit – They are projected as a top 10 defense in most leagues because they’re facing the dismal Browns offense. I’m a huge fan of betting against bad offenses.

Cleveland – I’m not as keen on this play because I can see the Lions having success against a hapless Browns defense. Even so you could do worse than this play.

Jacksonville – The Jaguars get to face the Bills. They can’t protect the Quarterback and are huge fans of turning the football over. I guess you can see why I like this play.
