Don't be shellfish...Tweet about this on TwitterShare on FacebookShare on Google+Share on Reddit

I got a lot of curious looks this week for ranking Cam Newton as my number two QB behind Peyton.  Pretty sure I was the only one that ranked him that high.  Via FantasyPros, his highest rank was 2 so I guess there COULD be another person just as crazy as me out there, but not moreso.  The naysayers said things like ‘The Panthers have looked terrible’ and ‘Cam’s been a bum all year so far’ and ‘You can’t do that on television!’ and other nonsensical senselessness.  Well, ok all things true but I’ll say this.  For how ‘bad’ the Panthers have looked on offense, the Giants defense has looked like the Invisible Man out there for most of the year.  Something had to give and on this Sunday, Cam went HAM on the poor Giants defense, going 15/27 for 223 passing yards, added 45 on the ground and chucked in a total of 4 TDs with one being a rushing TD.  I can hear you now saying ‘Is Cam back?’ and all I can say is he’s never really left.  Sorry everyone, this is the life of being a Newton owner.  He has limited weapons surrounding him unless either LaFell or Ginn step up along side Steve Smith like they did today on a consistent basis.  Moving forward, Cam is still Cam and Cam can still go HAM at any given time but this is one of the few times the Panthers have really utilized his wheels as much as they did today.  Clearly it was effective and I’m sure Cam and his owners hope this change is here to stay.  In other 2013 Fantasy Football news…

Giovani Bernard – GOB keeps showing us what kind of an illusion BJGE really is: 50 and a TD on 10 carries to go with 49 yards on 4 receptions.  Meanwhile, The Law Firm fumbled and only touched the ball 10 times.  From a 30/70 timeshare to a  60/40 in a week swing.  Next week, let’s making it come full circle and go 70/30 please.  Signed, fans of football that’s enjoyable to watch.

Johnathan Franklin – After Starks went down, we finally got to see a bit of what Murph was talking about as Franklin went for 103 on 13 carries with a TD while chipping in 3/23 through the air.  Unfortunately, he also fumbled the win away late in the game.  So far, we’ve only seen about 6 quarters of Lacy, another 6 of Starks and now about 3 of Franklin.  Next up, DuJuan Harris!  Aren’t we happy we drafted a Packers back?

Jordan Cameron – All Cams go HAM apparently.  Despite a new QB at the helm, Jordan finished the day with 3 touchdowns on 6/66.  Meanwhile, Josh Gordon caught a TD and went 10/146 as the Browns defeated the Vikings after putting most of their players on Craigslist.

Kenbrell Thompkins – The ball not only hit him in the hands but he actually caught it!  Had 2 touchdowns on 3/41.  Think this is gonna be the week you regretted sitting him so you start him next week and get a goose egg.  You’ve been warned.

DeAngelo Williams – So many yards (120 on 23 carries) but so little red zone love.  Ran the ball well and got to grind the clock a bit in the 4th to ice it for the Panthers win.  I had him as a low end RB1 this week and he didn’t disappoint.  Ok, he did but it’s not his fault Tolbert threatens to eat him any time the Panthers are within 5 of the goal line.

Joique Bell – Had a very Reggie-like line, finishing with 63 yards on 20 carries and a TD while taking on 4/69 through the air.  And this is why the Lions spent millions to get Bush.  Wait, what?  Joique-ing off would be a thing in Detroit if the GMs knew what they were doing.

Brandon Bolden – Had 51 yards on 3 rushing attempts and chipped in 49 on 5 through the air.  Meanwhile, Ridley finished 11/35 on the ground and 1/8 through the air.  Bolden wasn’t even at 100% on Sunday.  When I told you to Buy him two weeks ago, I said ‘You could probably pick up Bolden…with the hopes he gets a piece of that Vereen pie.’  Well it might be that Ridley starts getting some humble pie along the way if Bolden keeps playing this well.

Eli Manning – The Giants are looking like one of the worst teams in the NFL.  Now I’ll forgive the Denver game but their defense has now given up 30+ in every game and they’re just not protecting Manning at all to make a stance.  The Panthers had 3 sacks coming into the game.  They leave it with 10.  Yuck sticker.  I’m sure this team will regroup and this will also lead to plenty of come from behind yardage/scoring for Eli but with it comes these kinds of days.  And I thought just the streets of New York were dirty…

Bernard Pierce – I’m sorry Tehol, I was 1 rec and 8 yards off.

Daryl Richardson – Had the toe that was troubling him stepped on and sat out the rest of the game, leading to Pead’s 63 yard day.  It was a game of nothing going right for the Rams.  Givens long catch turns into a fumble, Jake Long getting pulled for sucking and Bradford adding a lot of green to his jersey with no time to throw.  It even limited the upside of starting Romo today because he had shortfield play for most of his day (17/24, 210 with 3 TDs).  Basically, if you didn’t start DeMarco Murray in this game, you’ve got a little regret in you and even then, you’re ticked Dez Bryant got a 2 yard TD.  Sometimes real football farts in our general direction.

Calvin Johnson – Just checking in *Sees stats*.  Yup, still good.

Ahmad Bradshaw – Goes for 95 on 19 carries and a TD and 3/16 through the air as I dropped him in one league and started Chris Ivory.  I’m not crying, I swear!  Don’t worry, Trent Richardson owners, you’re not in a timeshare but you did have to share the fantasy goods today (13/35/1).  Now pardon me while I go stop not crying.

Bilal Powell – Did what I thought Ivory would do taking advantage of a defense that could be run on, going for 149 on 27 carries and throwing in 2/9 through the air.  I give up on Ivory at this point.  I’ve seen people who stay healthier longer in a retirement center.  Even Sally Fields thinks you need Boniva, bro.

Colin Kaepernick – I can count on my third hand the amount of people who predicted this against the Colts.  BTW, I lost all my fingers on my third hand in a freak chainsaw juggling accident.  BTW2, there’s no such thing as a third hand.  BTW3, you’re crazy for believing me.

Jake Locker – 299 passing yards to go with 68 on the ground and a TD in each scenario.  For those about to ask, no, he’s still not that good but the Chargers defense really isn’t either.  Don’t believe me?  Watch him play the Jets next week.  Ah heck, you don’t even have to do that to find out.  Just re-watch this game.

Jimmy Graham – Remember when I said ‘don’t draft this guy, he’s not worth the 2nd round pick’?  Eh, mea culpa.  Right now, he’s scoring on par with most top end WRs right now and probably won’t have many matchup issues from week to week.  Graham Cracker Crunch!

Marshawn Lynch – I saw Pete Carroll lean in and say to him after Wilson chucked his first TD of the game to Miller ‘Don’t worry, you’ll get the next one’.  Seattle scored 38 points.  There’s 5 TDs in there.  None of them were from Lynch.  YOU.  LIED.  PETE.  Meanwhile, MJD scored a TD on 44 yards and 18 carries.  Had Lynch in plenty of leagues.  Sat MJD wherever I had him today.  With my Ahmad blunder above, I’m currently curled up in the shower.  I’m still fully clothed, rocking back and forth and humming that Daniel Powter tune.  On the plus side, my wife is used to this so no trip to the mental hospital for me.

Jason Snelling – Surprisingly, was on the wrong end of the carry split with Rodgers (11 vs 18) but ended with double the receptions (4 to 2) and actually scored his TD on one of said receptions.  I was expecting 60 on the ground and a score.  He gave us 111 total yards and the EZ love.  So even though nothing of what I thought would happen actually happened, I still came out Snelling like a rose.  Thanks Jason!

Matt Ryan – Had a pedestrian 231/2/1 day and by ‘pedestrian’ I mean he was outscored by Tavaris Jackson.  In fact, Tavaris outscored guys like Luck, Kaep, Bradford, and even Aaron Rodgers on Sunday.  We can’t all play the Jaguars, I guess…oh wait, Lynch can!  And he can still not outscore Tavaris Jackson…

Doug Martin – Another boring yet useful line on the day (108 total yards, 2 rec/20 carries).  It’s hard to get worried about The Muscle Hamster because he’s still putting up solid numbers and is clearly the only option in TB.  But then he goes and gets outscored by Tavaris Jackson and it makes you wonder what his upside is the rest of the way…I keed, I’m still buying but I do it realizing he may be the 5th or 6th best RB this year rather than a top 3 play.  Now if you’ll pardon me, I have to go pick up Tavaris Jackson…

      @mike: Yes.

I drafted him in one league this year. Had him slated to start all week and pulled him about 10 minutes before the deadline because Brian Boyer scared me. But, hey, I started Hakeem Nicks so it all worked out…for my opponent who was Sky.

I didn’t get to watch the pats game yesterday and I am still advising people to stay away from the NE RB shituation if they can, but Blount had the most carries and a better YPC than Ridley. Was he just a garbagepail kid?

    • Sky

      (link)

I’d say about 40 of Blount’s yards came after they sat Ridley/Bolden in the 4th. The Pats just wore the Bucs out on the ground. Most of Blount’s early carries were his usual Brandon Jacobs-like plod for 2 yards.

Like your line about CLE putting their players on Craigslist. Going into the game I was going to gripe about how the NFL needs an NBA like lottery system to keep teams from tanking. But then watching on Sunday (God knows why we got Browns-Vikings 1500 mi away) I was amazed to see a team that was playing HARD. Trick punt, trick field goal (one of Cam’s 3 TDs). Not a team that was quitting. Of course, playing the Vikes helps, but nonetheless we don’t have to write off the team. Deep exhale as a Gordon owner.

Also like you third hand comment re: the Colts. My concern/worry of the day is about the BAL DST and HOU offense. For me and my team I’d love to say that the DST I own owned Foster (who I own) and company because they are awesome…I worry it is closer to the case that a pathetic HOU offense made the DST look good…Didn’t watch the game, so I don’t know the answer to that. However, I do know that Foster is going to struggle if he has to BOTH split time and play with a team that cannot get ahead. They are kind of related I think as garbage time makes Kubiak inclined to preserve Foster. I’d be happy if one of those factors disappear…not being greedy and expecting both to vanish.

Ha yeah. They went with Hoyer because he makes quick decisions. Still looked like a Weeden end line to me but they won so he’s gonna get a longer leash. Will be interesting to see how he performs against a stiffer secondary.

@Sky: Right. Well, I’m reaching out to DeAndre Hpokins owner to try and and see if he might move him. You see Houston-Baltimore game? Hopkins is well liked by Schaub. And, he is good.

        • Sky

          Sky says:
          (link)

Yeah, he’s good and I like him too. I just temper my expectations with him. A lot of his production has happened when Andre has left the game. Plus Schaub isn’t very good, which tempers my expectations even more.

          • CL says:
            (link)

@Sky: Hopefully you back track to this… DeAndre Hopkins owner will give me Hopkins and an RB (I’m thinking Giovani Bernard) for Charles. Too much for two rookies?

He also has McFadden, Ben Tate and Trent Richardson.

Or hold with Charles? I just want another WR over Wallace and Austin, but don’t want to create another problem. My other RBs are Jackson, J. Bell, and B. Pierce.

  12. Just want to get your general thoughts on RGIII for ROS. They finally called a read/option play or two yesterday, but RGIII ran OOB after a 3 yard gain, and later fumbled untouched while taking a dive to the turf. I’m beginning to hate this guy’s guts.

In a 2 qb league I have Luck and Vick (I also own Ridley) do I drop my only backup QB – Weeden for Bolden or do I have to drop him for Hoyer so I’m not stuck without a backup QB I could also drop Kenbrell.

    RB – Forte
    RB – Moreno
    TE – Graham

    W/R/T – Bernard
    BN – Wilson
    BN – Powell
    BN – Mathews
    BN – D.Wilson
    BN – Gordon
    BN – Bennett

0.5 PPR, 3 point bonus at 250 yards passing/85 yards receiving/100 yards rushing, 6 point bonus at 335 yards passing/135 yards receiving/150 yards rushing, 6 points per TD rushing or receiving, 4 points per passing TD.

@J-FOH: thank you sir. At first, I wasn’t too happy about it, but after reassessing my RB depth, I think I did end up the winner.

With Bernard looking like he will (at least should) get the lion’s share of the carries, and Moreno looking like the feature back in a high powered offense, I thought Gore was expendable. The upgrade to Stafford could end up being the thing to put me over the top in this league. I appreciate the feedback.

@J-FOH: I will. And I actually prefer fantasy football, only because it’s much shorter. I like baseball better as a sport, but I get tired of the constant tweaking my lineup and stress it involves. Football is a lot more rolling the dice, being happy with your lineup, and just rolling with it. Not as much constant tweaking.

Chirs Ivory got hurt on the first drive and it only took Marv Albert until the 4th qtr to figure it out. That Albert/Gannon team is about as bad as it gets. Now I see why they were assigned the Jets/Bills game. As for a question, do you prefer S. Hill or S. Holmes going forward.
Thanks for the help as always….

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

      @Harris: Hill for upside

  20. Oppo Taco says:
    (link)

Quit on ivory, dropped him for Brandon Bolden. It burned to see Powell rack up all those yards, meanwhile ivory got me .5pts this week and unless decker, Moreno and prater go bonkers tonight I’m looking at 0-3 start. Roddy white an leveon bell have made me despise drafting in August…..

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

@Oppo Taco: I prefer drafting after the 3rd pre-season game, tough year so far, I suggest a bottle of something that warms your belly and a really sad album

  21. Ranall says:
    (link)

Safe to dump David Wilson or keep him around? I own him in a league with a really short bench (4) and you can only have 4 RBs.

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

@Ranall: who are your other bench players?

  22. Tim says:
    (link)

    I have Gronk
Would u trade Cameron for Jordy Nelson?
    Standard league
    I also have Julius Thomas..
Can only have 5rb and 5wr…so had extra spots…..now have trading assets..

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

@Tim: If you can got Jordy for Cameron i would, you just cashed in and still have two great TE options left.

  23. Alex says:
    (link)

Owner of Cook and Cameron. Obviously I’m keeping Cameron. What would the 1 for 1 value of Cook be at this moment. Cook for Mike Wallace?

Trying to get rid of this bum. Quite a few owners still looking for a TE and hoping they see the 26points in week 1.

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

@Alex: I wouldn’t call Cook a bum at this point but standing next to Cameron, I could see your frustration. If you could score Wallace then I think you just bought low and cashed in on Cook. Having Cameron makes Cook have less value to you than someone else.

      • Scott says:
        (link)

        @J-FOH:

Thanks! A team with J. Finley offered me a trade for their Roddy White for my Cameron + Hopkins. But obviously I declined after Cameron’s performance.

However, seeing what I could get for Cook as I counter with a Hopkins + Cook for White to no success. I have Demaryius, Garcon, and Miles also as my WRs so trading for White to rest on my bench is manageable but not at the cost of Cameron.

Judging by your answer, I think a Mike Williams for J Cook could be a good deal. Only issue with Mike is having a bum of a QB in Freeman. Not to mention if Vjax is out with the rib injuries, I see it complicates the issues and make it worse for Mike as it allows Mike to get 1-on-1 coverage.

        • J-FOH says:
          (link)

@Scott: I’m not saying to trade Cook for Williams, you could get better down the road

  24. Dave says:
    (link)

Sorry if asked again which DST is better for week 4 – Baltimore (@BUF), or Titans (vs. Jets) I could also get the Jets D.

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

@Dave: It’s close but they are both solid vs. the run but the Titans have the edge vs. the pass. It’s close but the Titans. Geno should be good for three picks!

      • Wallpaper Paterson says:
        (link)

@J-FOH: Jets fan here. J-FOH is not trying to trick you. Smith is good for a couple interceptions. Both teams have pretty good defenses. Go with the Titans just because they are at home.

  25. DDT says:
    (link)

Would you drop D. Richardson or G. Olsen for either I. Pead or Bilal Powell?
Olsen is my back-up TE and D. Richardson is currently my RB4.
    Thanks~

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

@DDT: thats a pretty good back up TE, I would hold. I think Richardson will be better, just be patient and by throwing Olsen back out there you have just made someone else’s team better. Powell had a good game against the 30th ranked rush defense, I would want to see more

  26. Mark says:
    (link)

    Drop Ivory for Bolden?

As a Lacy owner do I pick up Franklin to cover my bases? Franklin was looking very good till he fumbled the game away.

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

@Mark: the situation is horrible for RB, I like Bolden better, I would handcuff Lacy with Franklin

      • Mark says:
        (link)

        @J-FOH:

Would you waste top waiver priority for either of those adds? I have TRich/MJD/GOB/Lacy/Ivory and can only start 3 max so this is more for RB depth. My WR are decent (Cobb, Decker, Stevie, Hartline) but we start 3 (plus a flex) so could use a WR too. Looks like Hill is the best available.

I’m leaning towards holding onto my waiver priority and then if Bolden/Franklin make it through add one/both of them. Or Pead, Ellington are add options as well. Any of these guys worth using top waiver priority for?

        • J-FOH says:
          (link)

@Mark: nah, I would see who gets through, someone might drop something better than the adds, it happens. I would be looking to add some WR’s, Is Brown available? Avery? you might want to gamble against sky and try Thompkins. I would focus on strengthening your WR’s

          • Mark says:
            (link)

            @J-FOH:

Which Brown? Marlon and Vincent are both gone. Avery is actually available. He might be good depth. I actually just dropped Thompkins last week to pick up the KC D.

So you’d go Avery over Hill? Santana Moss and Nate Washington are also out there.

            • Jack Full O' Hate says:
              (link)

@Mark: without seeing it, i would go look at their schedules and figure who would be the best play, potentially, thats what I do when they are all in the same value tier.

What?! No discussion of Gordon’s return to carry the franchise weight in Cleave-Land? Check this out, I got screwed in that game not once, but twice, and yet I may still sneak out with a win if the Raiders protect the ball & score points tonight. I went with your gut to start Givens over Gordon (ouch) AND I went with my own idea of streaming a defense like Minnesota OVER the Cowboys who I dropped for them, figuring the Viqueens in the dome, being 0-2, and facing the arena-league-quality Browns should be able to hang one for this weekend. One more reason to hate the Viqueens but if I get the win, Gordy & the ‘Queens can be forgiven…temporarily.

    • Sky

      Sky says:

@Clint (aka Pablo Death): Talked about Gordon in the Cameron blurb. My write ups can only include one Brown per bolded name. Company policy.

I think I coulda steered you clear of MIN but I can’t remember…think I ranked DAL DEF higher.

Hope you win, can’t believe how bad that MIN secondary is.

Stick with your studs, the man said. So I did. Played Martin instead of Bell—with my gut screaming “Go Bell, fool!” while my perfectly functioning mind pulled hard on the reins. Lesson 1. . .sticking with your studs is sound advice if your studs are studs. Lesson 2. . . experts herd up and herds are slow. Lesson 3 . . .there’s trouble in Tampa with a capital T and they got no studs right now.

    • Sky

      (link)

@TJ: Any chance you could’ve sat someone besides Martin to get that line? 100 yards of total offense wasn’t bad. Besdies, nobody knew Reggie Bush would be out until Sunday morning. I wiggled Bell up to 12th RB at that point.

  32. Willy says:

Hello People… Always trying to figure out ways to make my team better so I have come to you for your advice…

Currently sitting in first in a 10-team PPR and holding the #1 waiver claim– anyone worth biting on from this bunch: Bilal Powell, Kendrall Thompkins, Nate Burleson, Donnie Avery, Jason Avant? If so, who should I part ways with?
    Here’s my roster:
    QB-Luck; RB’s: J. Charles. D. Sproles, K. Moreno, L. Miller, D. Woodhead, S. Vereen (no IR spot but I am holding); WR’s- Julio Jones, B. Marshall, R. Wayne, G. Tate, C. Givens; TE- J. Cook & M. Bennett

    Thanks!

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

@Comickaze: Don’t know if I’d hold that dearly to Vereen in a 10 team, non-keeper league but you can pick up Powell and drop Tate for RB depth. He’s a solid but unspectacular running back, just like the Jets like back there.

      • Mark says:
        (link)

        @Sky:

Would you pick up Vereen in a 12 team 0.5 ppr? It’s also a keeper league. He would either cost me a 5th round pick or 11th round pick next year depending on if we use his original 7th round selection or if he’s classified as a player off waivers (13th round). Assuming it would cost a 5th round pick next year to keep him, would you make a move to pick him up? Or would you pick up Bolden instead? I’d be dropping Chris Ivory. I have 4 solid backs (TRich, MJD, GOB, Lacy) already and can only start 3 so I’m not in an immediate need for a RB.

  34. Eddie says:
    (link)

Bush and Joique Bell for Brandon Marshall and MJD? Jones Drew becomes my RB2 in this scenario.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

I’m not overly thrilled if that makes MJD a permanent lineup fixture but I do like Marshall there. Go for it.

      • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
        (link)

@Sky: it’s also a benefit to get 2 useful roster spots for the price of 2 guys whom of which it can be said only 1 of them have any value at the same time. Bush/j.bell.

  35. Carbz says:
    (link)

Jordan Cameron’s value is high right now. I’m in need of a TE desperately (charles clay is my starter). Would you trade MJD for him?

I have Lynch, Snelling, F. Jackson, and Ingram as my RBs.

    • Sky

    • J-FOH says:

@exactly: looks like a push at this point, if we are talking your 3rd or 4th back I might be willing to pull the trigger. I still have faith in Wilson and the Giants turning this thing around. He would be a good bye low for the gambling man

  38. Andy Luck says:
    (link)

What do you think of le’veon bell this season? What about beyond? Would you trade Larry Fitz for Garçon and Bell, my other wideouts are Calvin and Hilton… Might be able to get him to throw in Wayne or Boldin. It’s a keeper league by the way

    • Andy Luck says:
      (link)

@Andy Luck: update: garçon, bell and my choice of Wayne/Boldin for Fitz

      • J-FOH says:
        (link)

@Andy Luck: I like both Wayne and Boldin, it’s always tough owning two receivers from the same team. Especially if both get shut out. That being said I’m on the fence about Bell, we haven’t see him play in the regular season and you could end up trading Fitz for garcon and either Wayne/Boldin.

  39. Allen says:

Sky im about to be a lucky 2-1 because down town antonio brown saved me last night. I cannot take another stinker from Kaep. What are your thoughts on jay cutler vs detroit on Sunday over Kaep Thursday…can’t believe I’m asking in week 4 but I need pts and am thinkin of taking a wait and see approach….if I grab cutler I have to drop buc williams or michael floyd…floyd is the one to drop agree? Or hold and start kaep…floyd and buc are both bench wr….thanks sky…ps 12 team standard

    • Willy says:
      (link)

@Allen: I’m not sky and am often seeking advice like you are today, but if I was in your situation, I’d hang on to Kaep and not worry about it yet… They are playing this Thursday night against the rival Rams… Davis should be back in the line-up and that will be huge for Kaep and his fantasy numbers! Sky and others might think differently, but that’s just my opinion. Good luck in week 4!

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

@Allen: good question, Cutler is facing a bad pass defense in the Lions and I think it would be a good idea to have a backup to Kaep. I’m not saying not to start him but Cutler might be the safer route than to go with a team that looks like they’re melting down and on the short week….Williams

  40. Zandy says:

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Are you saying it would be a 2 for 1 in each scenario?

      • Zandy says:
        (link)

@J-FOH: yes I’d send one of them to get the two back

        • J-FOH says:
          (link)

@Zandy: being that its non ppr, or standard as we use to call it, I would part with Sproles to get GOB and hopefully a Wilson resurgence

  41. Alex says:
    (link)

This trade idea just dawned on me. Offer the guy with LeSean McCoy and need fir TE the following trade:

    Give: Bryce Brown, Cook
Take: Pierce (I’m the owner of Ray Rice)

    Make the trade? Good deal?

I have Cameron on my team, and don’t mind giving up Cook to get a RB that I could use immediately in the lineup. Hoping his need for a TE and the McCoy ankle scare will convince him to take the trade.

    • J-FOH says:
      (link)

@Alex: I think you’re giving up too much in Cook, we also haven’t seen how teams will adjust to Cameron. I would hold cook and not over pay for Pierce

I have Kaepernick at QB, I have no back up TE and there is nothing good on our waiver wire in our 12 team redraft. Am I obligated to take this trade out of draft value gained?

    • Sky

There’s no obligation with trades. If there’s no reasonable FA to replace then I would hold

  46. Principle Blackman says:

In my QB—Q/W/R/T league, my 1 & 2 are Cam and Vick. Weeden was my back up, and Cam’s bye is this week. Do I go out and grab Locker or Hoyer, or do I role with either Snelling or Patterson at Flex? By the way, this league is PPR/.5PPRush/10 ret. yards per point.

@Sky: sick thing is moreno’s 5.5 pts was .55 enough for me to win. opp had nicks and some other bum for the week. My Pierce outscored him by almost 10.

      • J-FOH says:
        (link)

@Sky: because this will not happen very often i have cut and pasted from Saturdays premiere

        0) Knowshon Moreno (Montee Ball (-3), Ronnie Hillman) As a Bronco fan I don’t see Moreno hold the job or be healthy all year and Ball will get his shot if he can hold onto the rock. Stash him!

        • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
          (link)

@J-FOH: are you saying in a 2 RB league we should be dropping moreno for ball if we have charles/bush/pierce/moreno. no flex, so obv stashing more WR is usually a good idea (play 3).

        • Sky

          Sky says:
          (link)

And yet he didn’t hold onto the rock tonight! I figured Moreno losing the job was an eventuality coming into the season but really, so many pundits were putting Montee in nosebleed territory in terms of overvaluing. In the end, he’s not THAT great.

          • J-FOH says:
            (link)

@Sky: he’s not THAT great butr has shown some flashes if he can get past the whole holding onto the ball thing

  50. Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
    (link)

in a PPR with 1 pt per 10 return yards (punt or kick) are we even better off with jennings or one of these guys (also bonus for over 40 yard TD’s).
ginn (16.87 pts per week, due to bonus of long TD)
patterson (14.83 pts per week on a bad def, kind that gives up a lot of kick returns)
    k.martin (14.5 pts per week)

seems like these guys have higher floors than jennings does, since nobody is scared of ponder or any other receiver enough to not blanket him.

    • goodfold2 says:
      (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: in a different league with all the same as the above, but .5 pt per 10 return yards, both patterson and ginn still both outscore jennings.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

You can go for Ginn or Patterson in a league like that, just don’t think you can call counting on PR/KR high floor.

      • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
        (link)

@Sky: i know, see sproles so far this year. that guy, in the full 1 pt per 10 league, for the last 2 years averaged over 20 pts per game, but this year, so far, there’s been a lot of touchbacks, and NO Def has been a lot better. Ginn is actually getting scrimmage yards too though.
