Did you see that? Did you like what I did there? I used Payoff instead of Playoff as a means to be PUNy. *squeezes horn* Yeah, I’m not very funny, the baby’s mama said most people laugh at me instead of with me. Funny I never got that til I met Sky a couple months back. I’m also not very happy right now. I have missed the playoffs almost everywhere, have tried kicking out the stool about a half dozen times and have also drank enough tequila to get the city of Guadalajara drunk. But hey, my therapist says I need to be more optimistic….note to self: fire therapist. I couldn’t do anything right for myself last week, I missed the mark by not starting Tate and Decker in one league and felt a big whoops like my boy Farley here. It’s impossible to be happy for myself so I guess I can instead be happy for all 12 of you and hopefully help you to playoff gold. My only way to a championship is by living vicariously through my 12 readers. I love you 11 guys and Prezzi. Now is the time where all our good fortune is put to the test and we need to be ready, so let’s get pumped for the playoffs. Hey Mr.T,can you help these guys get inspired? So here’s what were doing here. I’m giving you names to stash, like I did two weeks ago, in the hope they get some play in week 15 or 16 or maybe even 17 because their teams (real life) are playoff bound and don’t want to injure the starter or are auditioning for next years production of football.  To see my last list click here

Here’s how it works:

1) Take the worthless fodder on your team that will never touch the field for you or anyone else and drop them.

2) Look up the rest of the season schedule and find any match ups that can be exploited.

3) Read Razzball daily

4) Sorry, had to plug the site above. Ok, see if any of the guys listed below are available and make them unavailable

Montee Ball – He was my lead last week and really delivered some serious yards. I know this is the easy one, but you might be in a league where an owner dropped him after seeing Knowshon return. I would be surprised if Knowshon played week 17 or even more than half of week 16. The Broncos have it locked up and have a cruise control of a schedule down the stretch. Montee should get lots of love the last four weeks of the season and I can see him realistically getting 12-15 touches in the games Knowshon plays in and 20+ in games Knowshon sits out.  Grab him now if he’s there.

Antone Smith – He was covered by Sky on Wednesday and I can not disagree. I think the Falcons close up shop early and try to evaluate what they have going forward to 2014. Watch the hell out of this situation and hope the Panthers go on “we made the playoffs so lets rest mode” when they face each other in week 17. Even the Monday night match-up vs. the Niners could be good for a 12+ point game.

Jonathan Stewart – He’s on a playoff bound team and the guy he backs up is pretty blah. Bottom line is they  have to protect their “starter” and this back up is better than most. I like him going forward and will be in the high teens low 20’s for touches.

Dennis Johnson – don’t get him confused with this Dennis Johnson. He is unfortunately not with us any more, but was one hell of a player for the Celtics. Sorry, back to the football stuff. He backs up Ben Tate who went off last week and we might think he gets no play. But rewind back two weeks and he had 13 carries for 74 yards and caught 2 balls out of the backfield. The reality here is Tate will probably be playing somewhere else next year and the Texans might see what they have in Johnson before deciding how they want to handle free agency. They are going to be a busy franchise this off season with them having to a find a new coach and all.

Robert Turbin/Christian Michael – I have no idea what Uncle Pete is going to do with this duo when he wants to rest Skittles. But I do know this, I would want either one of these guys more than anyone else on this list. The Seahawks are the only team to technically clinch a playoff spot so far and these two beasts have been waiting in the wings. I give an egde to Turbin to get more play and I like Michael to be bigger if he gets some of that action. Alternate reality check, they both might split carries, if the Seahawks get up big on the Niners this week, then I could see one of these guys coming in to protect Lynch from the upstanding citizens employed by the Niners. Hint: This game might be a tip off of what’s to come.

Bernard Pierce – I have to admit I didn’t really like this guy. I thought he was kinda blah like the Ravens offense. When JB claimed he was 1st round talent with a starting gig I almost choked on my pop tarts and yoohoo. Hey it was after a game that saw him have 2.7 YPC and one TD. But I’m here to say that maybe JB ain’t that crazy, he’s still crazy tall, but mentally not that nutty. I have to talk a little smack to him because we play each other this week in the RCL. That’s right, I’m coming for you big biscuit. Oh yeah, back to BP, I thought he looked good last week against the not-so-steel curtain and could possibly be in a little audition time. Look, I don’t like Ray Rice, he’s old by NFL RB standards and has a lot of mileage on his motor. A 6th year running back is about the same as a 10th year receiver. If he’s there I would grab him and hope he gets the love and affection he deserves cause RayRay has gots to go.

Kendall Hunter – Gore is old and the Niners should make the playoffs, unless the Cardinals shock the world and find a way to take the last spot. I’m assuming the Saints or Panthers grab the other. If an injury is going to occur it’s this week when the Niners face the Seahawks in what should be a punishing game of hard hits and blood. Damn, I just got myself excited about this one. Go Seahawks! Yeah, that’s me sucking up to Sky. Hunter has looked nice at times in his back up role this year and Gore has been good, mostly against bad rush defenses.  The biggest problem for the Niners is their offense is a mess. I really think they wish they had Alex Smith back so they could bench this douchebag. Anythehoo, I like Hunter as a solid stash because if the Niners clinch then they will need to rest the old dog Gore.

Taiwan Jones – He might be the last man standing in Oakland with McFadden out and Jennings stumbling and mumbling to the finish line. According to this article he has been getting reps with the first team at RB and may be a play this week or in the next couple of weeks if the injury bug keeps stinging the Raiders. Why not grab him now and be ahead of the game.
