So Maurice Jones-Drew finally ended his holdout with Jacksonville on Sunday.  Though no word on why he had a change of heart as of this typing, I have to assume he wanted to help Razzball writer Tehol Beddict further his tv career and me so I didn’t have to keep hearing ‘When is MJD going to come back?  Why is he so high in your rankings if he’s a hold out?  Why do you insist on not wearing pants to a funeral?’, and other great nonsense.  Now MJD owners can rejoice, Rashad Jennings owners will weep and my calm demeanor about the whole thing can be understood.  As far as the first week goes, I think it’s fair to say no one knows what to expect.  He has a game in a week so how in shape and ready he’ll be is anyone’s guess and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rashad hold some week 1 value because of these questions.  Now is there a possibility of him suffering from CJ2K disease?  Sure, he could pull a Chris Johnson 2011 season out of his hat but I’m not going to assume that just because he was a holdout that he’ll be a mess for the rest of the season.  If you’re a Rashad owner at this point, I’d hold for week one if I had the roster spot to do it with and see how it pans out.  You might be able to wrangle a bit of trade value out of him if MJD doesn’t bounce back straight away.  With that said, let’s get on with what should be the final preseason blurb before the 2012 fantasy football season kicks off…

Kellen Winslow – Was cut by the Seahawks on Saturday and as of this typing doesn’t have a new team to call home.  Remember when I was doing my off season rankings of Tight Ends and said I didn’t understand how Kellen was getting ranked in the top 20 by experts?  You don’t?  Well where have you been?  Probably pretending your fantasy baseball team still had a chance.  It’s ok, you’re here now.  That’s what matters.

Roy Helu/Evan Royster/Alfred Morris – It’s been stated the Redskins are keeping their starting Running Back ‘a secret’ heading into the season.  I’m sure it’s mastermind moves like this that will show how Shannahan makes his team go 6-10 rather than 5-11.  Oh and it also makes him a jerkface.  Before you ask it I don’t know who will start and no other fantasy football analyst who’s worth their salt would say they do either.  Mike is going to ride the hot hand week in and week out and unless you have a VIP pass and can attend the Redskins practice every week, you’re not gonna know either.  Hope you enjoy your ulcers Redskins RB owners!

Kenny Britt – Only suspended one game by Goodell for his DUI.  He’s currently being priced around the 72nd pick off the board in yahoo but MockDraftCentral has him around pick 97 and his highest pick was 74th…hrm, I don’t know about you but something about that math doesn’t add up.  Well, whatever, to the point: he’s being priced as a WR3 and has WR1 potential.  I’ve already nabbed him in one of my friend leagues and plan to do so wherever I can if the price stays low.  I love me some Britt.  Come ‘ere Pippa!
