Playoff Statistical Strategery: Running Backs
So you are looking like a contender in your league and you are getting ready for a playoff run, but somehow you got there in spite of Matt Forte. So you come here to the friendly Razzball confines to see what your next move should be. Well, take a look at Mr. Forte’s opponents for weeks 14, 15, and 16 and you aren’t going to be happy. And how has Forte done against highly ranked rush defenses? Yeah, I’m not sure he’s showed up either. Now take a look at Jamaal Charles’ matchups. Detroit and Cleveland at home weeks 14 and 15? Will LJ be back? Maybe. Will Kolby Smith be taking some carries? Maybe. But if you can do a multi-player deal giving Forte for Charles and another piece it might be worth it. A lot depends on where you are. If you are almost locked into your playoffs you can start maneuvering for playoff matchups. Hopefully this chart will give you a way to plan ahead. Some playoff schedules are just weeks 15/16, but I’ve seen longer playoff schedules so I added week 14. Make sure you check out your league settings.
Of course the higher the number the worse the defense(s).

Thin at RB. Trade away Gates for Lynch/Witten (assuming he would consider it).

I love posts like this, they really help me out it trading away that good talent/bad situations… I just got Grant for my Forte
and I own Jamaal Charles!
Will you be doing this for all positions?

@adamh: I’d do that in a heartbeat, especially if you’re thin at RB
@adamh: Yeah, if you could get that done go for it.
@Jo: I’ll have one tomorrow for QB’s which will translate into WR’s and TE’s to some extent.

@Jo: Yes, I’d start Maclin.

Rank these players going forward: Charles, Beanie Wells, Mike Bell? Seems like Bell’s stock fell a bit last week, no?
@vinko: Wells, Charles, Bell. Yeah, Bell took a hit last week. The situation there is too hard to put much faith in him.

Great post…i think Thomas Jones is THE back to have with Shonn backing him up JIC (just in case)…one of the best rushing teams vs some of the worst…sign me up…I’m trying to figure out how i can wrestle TJ away from his owner since I already have Greene
for flex this week??…Hines Ward, Steve Smith (car), Maclin, Manningham
leaning towards Maclin or Smith

Flacco or Palmer (facing each other) this week?
@danimal35: yeah, I’ve had a lot of TJ hate this year, but he’s set up for a nice run. I like Maclin because I think the Eagles are going to pass all day long.
That’s tough. Baltimore is getting better in pass D and Cincinnati is getting worse, but I still like Palmer at home off a bye.
