So I figured rather than hinting that I had updated my Overall Rankings for 2012 Fantasy Football, I’d give you a brief synopsis of what has transpired.  I also figured I would compete for the Guiness World Record for longest post title about an updated ranking while I was at it.  Yeah, it’s not a real category but when it is I’m a freaking shoo-in to win.  Basically, Doug Martin snuck into my fantasy football heart once it was clear he would have a clear shot to be the RB1 there.  You may not notice it in the overall rankings but he’s now in my top 20 for Running Backs, much to the chagrin of Shonn Greene.  Meanwhile, Cedric Benson is slowly creeping up my RB ranks much to MY chagrin.  Also as I mentioned in my morning post, I’m not budging on Peyton Manning at this point.  Don’t hate him, just think there’s no reason to take a risk at Quarterback this year in a standard 10 team one QB league.  Most of the updates you’ll notice in the Running Back section as there hasn’t been too much for me to change my mind at the other positions.  I did add Russell Wilson as my 26th best quarterback but I think we all know how much relevance that is going to have on your draft strategy.  Alright y’all, click on that first link of the post to see what you came to see and then click on this link to see why Terrell Owens is no longer an NFL player a Seahawk.  For those not in the know about how that play turned out…yeah, he dropped it.

Just had a draft last night…

    12 Team .5 PPR 4/6 TDs Start: QB/3WR/2RB/TE/FLEX/DEF/K

    QB: Rivers

    RB: C. Johnson, M. Jones-Drew, R. Matthews, B. Greene-Ellis, D. Williams, J. Rodgers, R. Turbin

WR: M. Colston, T. Smith, L. Moore, M. Williams (TB), Nate Washington, A. Collie

    TE: R. Celek

DEF: Seattle (Always rotate every week)

K: Will have to drop some for a kicker (Always rotate)

Is this team gonna be a contender or did I get two risky with my WR core in a 3 WR league? QB’s and WR’s went fast so I just kept pounding RB’s in the early rounds and as it ended up so did two other owners so it’s safe to say there are quit a few teams that are looking for RB’s if I want to trade.

Talked to another owner about a possible CJ2k/Lance Moore for White/Harvin/R. Jennings trade. Think that would help my team? Feel like with my team if I trade CJ2K or MJD I should be shooting for Rodgers/Brady/Brees/Graham/Gronk.

Pffft, if you’re reading my posts you know proof reading isn’t done in these parts!

So here’s the problem. CJ and MJD should be a solid set but whatever you spent on Mathews probably should’ve been for another WR. Washington’s use will hinge a lot on how Britt comes back. Rest of team makes sense, though.

I don’t like the trade you’re thinking of because it puts too much dependence on Mathews. I’d try and move him to see what I could get in the WR arena instead of MJD/CJ.

@Sky, @Sky, For what is worth (and it’s not much) I own Ronnie Brown too and he could be a serviceable flex if Matthews is only out a couple weeks. Anything more than that and I’d assume they look to sign someone. The reason I’m more willing to part with CJ is I see trading MJD or Matthews as selling low right now. Although, I could understand an arguement for the opposite case. I knew the risks when drafting them and tried to draft accordingly. I’m a lot higher on Matthews and BGE than you guys are in your rankings so I guess that played a part in it too. I suppose the best plan of attack is to be patient and revist once the JAC and SD situations are resolved.

Just had draft…would u drop lafeil(CAR) and pick up Kendall wright?
Was surprised how high berry at espn had wright over lafeil…
Looking for bench guys with big upside.
Also have lance Moore on bench..
    Thanks!

If it’s not a keeper, I’m not that interested in Wright. LaFell has upside as well this year, I’d lean his way.

Yeah, fair enough. Everyone has their likes/dislikes. Hope Mathews bounces back for you but if you believe than yeah, I’d wait until there’s value to be had.

I’m not a huge handcuff guy unless the player themselves are actually worth owning. Would rather just have Cobb.

Jon Baldwin, Stephen Hill, Davone Bess, Robert Turbin

I get to keep two and replace one with a kicker (PPR, .25 points per rushing attempt)

    Who gets the axe?!

      Keep Baldwin/Bess

12 team, non-PPR auction keeper league. Jennings ($24), Welker ($14) or Sproles ($1) as a keeper? Already have D Murray at $5.

Probably go Sproles based on the price, though I’m not big on keeping him for non-PPR leagues.
