2013 RCL FootballAnother big week of RCL action wrapped up in week 5, with the ranks of the undefeated dwindling down yet again.  Looking at you – me!  Woo – let’s go Writer’s Team! Be sure to check out the full interactive 2013-2014 RCL Standings tab up under “Leagues” that shows you how you’re stacking up against your Razzball competitors in your journey to RCL glory.

RCL Top ScorerTOP SCORER: Congratulations to team Makka Pakka from the Monday Morning QB’s league, who was the only RCL team to top 200 points this week!  Is Makka Pakka a Simpsons reference based on your team picture?  With a fantasy explosion of goodness from Peyton, Dez, Nicks and Blackmon, it was the Monday Night breakout from Jacquizz that vaulted Makka Pakka into the RCL spotlight with 208.56 points.  Despite the win, Pakka is still in third place with a 3-2 record, as those beloved kitchen stinks still hold onto the top spot even after getting the wrong side of that Pakka outburst.  Great work again Pakka and enjoy your time in the RCL Sun!

Razzball Writers League – Boom Loudon!  I remain undefeated in the Razzball office battleground, where I have stomped across my competitors cubes like a giant ogre in an 8-bit NES adventure game.  Despite a paltry 120.26 points this week, I think I have what it takes to make a real run at topping the RCL field.  So what if 5 teams in this league have more points than me and my points against is by far the lowest?  Luckiest man wins!  Andrew Nordmeier’s I Pead And it Ertz gave out the hurt this week with the most points scored and I take on JayWrong in week 6 to try and stay lossless.

JB’s Random Commenter League – Big week from Big Magoo who put up 153.96 to move to 3-2 and yours truly also moved to 3-2 with a nail-biting 1.12-point win as RotoZak just needed one more Julio Jones play to topple me.  The Green Bastards remain undefeated atop my league and will have to outlast Zak in week 6 to stay undefeated.

Take On Jaywrong 2 – In what is arguably the best fantasy football league ever, with the best RCLers ever, JayWrong topped his league again with a big week from his Sisqo’s Other Hits to beat Heisenberg.  Jay broke bad with big weeks from DeSean Jackson then a monster flex from Alshon Jeffery.  I bet Jay is going to always get big flexes from Jeffery… While not as huge a week as we’ve seen in weeks 1-4, Fish’s Official Team moves to 5-0 and stays atop the pantheon of the RCL elites.

Rancho Rajneesh – With a big 167.88-point week, Cheeseburger Picnic tops the Rajneeshes with Alshon Jeffery and Julius Thomas giving him some major royales with cheese.  Picnic moves to 2-3, but the class of the league in ReadOptionForDummies kept up his winning ways moving to 5-0.  He’ll have to avoid a surprise stabbing from Dad Boner to not move to 6-0.

Murphatron’s RCL – Ahhhh those Cuddly Penguins…  So good to see them winning and moving to 2-3 despite one of the RCL’s highest point totals.  It’s unlucky to be a Penguin!  Those cuddlers put up 179.96 led by Peyton Manning and Jamaal Charles.  The Feverish Beavers at 4-1 leads the league, and will look to go 5-1 if they can indeed break ADAMANTIUM.

The Shituation Room – A Heisenberg sighting with a good week!  Despite some rough weeks for team Heisenberg across a few RCL leagues, 186.04 in week 5 was one of the top totals led by Tony Romo and T.Y. Hilton.  Pop’s Team remains the patriarch of the league, and will look to go to 5-1 against Drink a Forte in week 6.

Hernandez Hit Men – Huge week from Raynor Shine who moves to 3-2 aided by the monster game from Tony Romo.  The big 176.24-point outing gave scott’s team his first loss and moves Raynor into the top spot of points scored.  Big week!  Along with scott at 4-1, Caballo moves to 4-1 as the two teams vie for top position.

Razzball Rebels – Gavros gave it to the Blountville Bums in one of the week’s most lopsided games, winning 169.06-72.98.  The most points vs. the fewest points!  Gavros is still struggling overall though moving to 2-3, as one of the biggest games in week 5 ended with the Purple People Eaters finally handing Poon Jab a loss to move both teams to 4-1 and the top two spots in the league.

Pabst & Razz – The Razzball Rampage had a huge week 5, really dazing and confusing Dez-ed and Confused with a victory margin of over 100 points.  With the big 176.16-point week, the Rampage moves into first place with a 3-2 record and will look to stay atop the league with a tough matchup against the 3-2 Turrible in week 6.

A League of RCL Thrones – A pretty even spread of scoring with CreanNCrimson’s Team taking home highest-scoring honors with a 151.76-point week led by Peyton and JC.  The Crimson moves atop the league at 4-1 and will look to keep the top spot against a team that has their name in non-English.  Don’t get lost in translation!

In-A-Gadda-Da-Wheeden – It got foamy indeed with Big Foam Cowboy Hat getting a monster week from local hero Tony Romo leading the Hat to a big 185.34-point week and a 3-2 record.  King Daddy Crunch at 4-1 sits atop the league standings and will look to keep his reign over the Wheedens against Tingly Preppies in week 6.

RCLBBWSVU – Man, redemption is sweet for Tio & The Fullbacks, who after starting 0-4 led the league in scoring in week 5 with 183.54 points led by Romo and bounce backs from Ray Rice and Hakeem Nicks.  The 4-1 Defenstrators remain atop the acronym league, and in an epic early-season test will be up against the 4-1 Bearded Hoes for an early #1 v. #2 tilt.  Winner will stay atop the mountain!

My Wife Frowns Upon This – Well Willy’s wife certainly wouldn’t frown upon his results, as One I’d Willy moves to Five I’d Winny and Zero I’d Losey.  With a core of Brees and McCoy, Willy will hope to stay undefeated and atop the overall RCL table with a win against the 2-3 Crimson Extremes.

Cracklin’ Brats RCL – Huge week from the aliens on Planet 10, putting up 183.26 points led by Peyton and JC – a common duo atop some of the RCL’s best teams.  Planet 10 moves to 4-1 and tops the Brats, and just a smidge under 800 points is one of the RCLs most feared teams.  The aliens will looks to go to 5-1 against Let’s Get Some Percy this week.

Bobby Boucher’s Water Bottle – Monstrous week from the Cowtown Russellers, who put up 182.10 points and moves to 5-0 on the season.  Led by the RB duo of JC and Moreno, the Russellers’ receiving corps of Marshall, Wayne, Flash Gordon, Randall Cobb and Justin Blackmon is enough to make a grown RCL man cry.  They’ll look to go to 6-0 against Rory’s Rad Team in week 6.

The Podcast Kingdom – Hold Mah D#$*$#)%^#@ led the Kingdom in scoring this week, erecting a big 160.80-point monolith of fantasy goodness and moving to 4-1.  My good buddies Will and the Pirates get another win, moving to 4-1 despite AP being on bye.  Go Pirates!  They’ll look to stay atop the league and move to 5-1 against Kickalicious Suh.

Nick’s Bad JB Impersonation – Haha I hadn’t seen the team name Always Shady in PHI before and I love it.  Great stuff!  Even better was their 168.74-point week to top the Bad Impersonation league and move to 2-3 on the season.  Straight Cash Homey snuck out a 0.44-point win to move to 4-1 and stay in the first spot in the standings.

Any Given Sunday – A pretty even week of scoring in Oliver Stone’s league, with Big D leading them in scoring with 156.32 points.  Jedi Mind Tricks has set themselves apart from the field with over 799 points and a 4-1 record.  They’ll look to keep their midichlorians flowing against the aforementioned Big D in week 6.

Booty Hunters Unlimited – Wow, another 0-4 team leading their league in scoring, as the Pughnitive Damages came out of nowhere for a shocking win over the Street Sweepers.  Not only did the Sweepers lose their first game, but they put up the second most points in the league this week at 168.84 which would’ve topped a lot of other RCL leagues.  However, it wasn’t enough to topple the Damages who got big games from the big Rs in Rice, Russell and Rueben Randle to put up 182.10.  With over 810 points, had Sweepers played anyone else, they would surely be close to the overall RCL leader.  They’ll look to bounce back in a tough matchup against the 4-1 FootballinYourPants.

Take On Jaywrong – With 193.14 points, Dread Pirate Roberts had an elite week led by Alshon and Romo for another 100+ point win in RCLs this week.  Nice work, Judge Dread!  Despite a measly 129.74 points this week, JayWrong’s Hand Schaub moves to 5-0, but is second to the also undefeated Yeshcheese.  Jay has a stiff test in front of him in week 6, and will really need to work his hands to Schaub his way past the 4-1 Dread Pirates.

The Razzbro League – As mentioned on this week’s pod, Guru’s Scotch Fueled Guru led the RCL field in scoring through Sunday, and had the penultimate highest scoring output when all was said and done.  With his Cowboys Romo, Bryant and Witten going off, plus the 26 from Moreno, he had one of the biggest outputs from one game in recent memory.  Sip that scotch!  Or pound it!  Despite the big win, Guru is at 3-2 as the Bearded Meat Muffins holds onto the top spot despite a tough loss to the Belligerent Beavers with both teams topping 170 in a great week 5 game.  High scores across the ‘bros!

Razzball Experts League – Man, just an utterly terrible game from the Rushmore Beekeepers this week, but despite only putting up 118.16 points in week 5, they snuck out a win to stay in the running for RCL glory.  I still think it’s Pianow based on the Twit Pic!  Sky, Sky Sky… 1-4?  Yikes.

The Shadynastys – Wasting Time didn’t waste time this week (I feel like I probably made that “joke” before), putting up 187.44 against Big Blue’s Team to move to 4-1 and 2nd in the league.  Ugh… The top spot goes to… You know what, I don’t feel like typing your name!  I have so much power as the RCL recapper!  All I’ll say is there is a 5-0 team that put up another big week for 812.18 total points and should be very close to the RCL leader (standings will come out after this is written).  And of course this hypothetical team will look to go 6-0 against the worst team in the ‘nasty league, the 0-5 MakeDatPussEffect.  C’mon Effect!  Bring the big upset!

One More RCL – Clot Busters barely edged out the most points in the One More RCL league, and snuck out a 3 point win over Jay Feely is my QB.  Despite the win, Busters is still only 2-3 and 10th in the league as Devastation Squad Jr is the only team to stay unbeaten with Kobayashi Maru suffering their first loss.  But Maru can make up for it, as they’ll have a chance to hand Devastation their first loss as well in a great week 6 matchup.

Shoot your RCL smack talk below and thanks again for joining the RCL Football Leagues this year.  Good luck in week 5!
