ALL THE VAGUENESS. But you’ll just have to trust me. While it’s true that we already have some wonderful prizes (described in detail after the jump), I thought I would take the time out of my day to let you know about one more prize that we are including for this year’s RCL Championship. And that is a mystery prize! OOOO, so exciting. In fact, it’s so mysterious, I’m not technically sure what it’s going to be, but I do know it’s going to be good. (Full disclosure: I actually know what it’s sorta-kinda-maybe going to be, and I think it’s pretty nifty and cool, and since I’m nifty and cool and you’re probably nifty and cool, we might have a similar opinion on such a matter!) The announcement will come out next week, so in the mean time, just trust me and get in on this free action. We are about a quarter way through the drafting phase of the pre-season, with the next three weeks being the “main event”. I actually used air quotes when typing that. The actual typing was done by my forehead and tongue to make my hands free. Impressive, I know. So remember, we are still looking for commissioners and fantasy owners to test their mettle against the entire Razzball family, from the contributors to you, the readers. Everyone is invited! So what are you waiting for? Create or Join a Free Razzball Commentator League today! (Or tomorrow. Or next week. Or, you know, soonish.)

PRIZES:

Prize for Overall RCL Champion: Custom-Made Razzball Bobblehead Doll Set. (With two figurines, together, one with the likeness of myself, Jay, and the one of you, the winner!)

creation-2

creation-1

Okay, so it’s not exactly like above, unless you have a mustache like that AND want to marry me… but they are good examples of what you can expect. The likeness will be based off your submitted photo, and will read “2014 RCL Champion: TEAM NAME” at the base. It will be a hand-sculpted 7-inch (approximate) tall figurine (2 people), sure to be the envy of everyone who visits your mom’s basement. Just be sure to cover my side with a napkin or something when the ladies come over. Not your mom though. She knows what’s up. Actually, now that I think of it, based on how I look, we might have a better example to show you of how this bobblehead doll set might turn out.

Prize for Commissioner of the League That Hosts the RCL CHAMPION: $50.00 Best Buy Gift Card.

50-Best-Buy-Gift-Card

You read it right folks. If you are the Commissioner of the league that our RCL Champion is in, you get a prize. So what should you do? Follow the instructions below to create a league. The more leagues you create and fill, the greater the chance you have of hosting the eventual winner. Create as many as you want… just make sure to get them filled, so go nuts!

Special Bonus Prize: Razzball T-shirt for League Champions of all the RCL’s hosted by Razzball Contributor Tehol Beddict.

Tehol thinks that, with the power of his Elder Gods, he is unbeatable. And guess what? He’s willing to put some pretty smooth cottons on the line. Are you brave enough to battle not just his fantasy football wit, but his fantasy football loins? If you so choose to take this challenge, you are a braver person than I, that’s for sure.

Please Note: Razzball contributors, while allowed to participate, are not eligible for prizes. If a Razzball contributor is RCL Champion, the Grand Prize will go to the next highest scoring player, and that Grand Prize will be a $100.00 Best Buy gift card. If a Razzball contributor hosts the RCL Champion in his/her league, the next highest scorer’s league Commissioner will receive the $50.00 Best Buy gift card.

@Ciwa: Okay, let me double check that and fix. Thanks!

  7. Michael says:
    (link)

Hi Jay, hope all is well. Im fairly new to fantasy and still learning. Had my draft last night and felt good about it but my draft grade report ripped me apart. 12 person league, standard format: 1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 te, flex, k and def with several bench spots. So here is my team:

Cutler, mccoy, r bush, antonio brown, r cobb, michael floyd, heath miller, tate (ie as flex), novak and cinci.

Bench: piere thomas, khriy Robinson, tre mason, d woodhead, justin hunter, j boykin, dwayne allen, carson palmer.

Thoughts? I liked it but that report is making me second guess. Probably stupid bc those reports are never accurate. Thanks Jay, appreciate it.

    • frankgrimes says:
      (link)

      @Michael:
dude those reports are automated bullshit!
      you did fine
      Play the waiver wire hard
your bench is a little thin imo

    • Steve Stevenson says:
      (link)

@Michael: That’s a good team. Those reports are worthless.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Michael: Yeah, like others have said, don’t pay attention to the report card stuff. They only base it on their rankings too, so it matters not

I think it’s a good team, and love that Dwayne Allen pick.

  8. Ian says:
    (link)

In my league we keep 3. I’m keeping Peyton for a 6th and Seattle D for a 14th. Tough choice on 3rd…keep Tate as a 4th or Starks as a 9th? I know 4th is high for Tate but guys like Lacy, Ball, Bell, Murray, Bernard and Stacy are being kept. This way I draft AP/Forte 1st at 3rd pick, then take two Wr’s and Tate as 4th and will have Peyton for 6th. I would have kept Cobb for a 7th and Stacy for a 12th but traded them last year to win it all. Thanks for input!

    • frankgrimes says:
      (link)

      @Ian:
      Keeping a defense is foolish
Do you have to keep 3?
how many teams in this leagues?

      • Ian says:
        (link)

@frankgrimes: We don’t have to keep anyone if we don’t want to. Wow don’t even keep Seattle for a 14th rounder? I usually pick Defense almost last pick always but I figures Seattle D was good value that late. I don’t have much upside for keepers because I traded a lot away last year to win the title.

        • Ian says:
          (link)

@Ian: 12 teams. So if you were in a draft and Seattle fell to you in the 14th round you wouldn’t take them…?? I think you would and there is value there I think.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Ian: I wouldn’t keep a defense. I wouldn’t keep Tate as a fourth either. I’d just keep Manning here.

      • Ian says:
        (link)

@Jay: Okay thanks for the input. My keepers a a mess this year. The only reason I was thinking about Tate was if I handcuff him with West, I would have a for sure starting RB. Even on a horrible team like the Browns… By the time I get my 4th round pick the only Rb’s left will all be in time shares. Thanks again for the reply.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Ian: It’s okay keeping that defense there I guess, but I’d rather have that spot to take a flier on a Dwayne Allen or Dexter McCluster… then see how everything falls into place and stream into week 1. Seattle’s defense is on it’s own tier, so again, I wouldn’t mind keeping them with your keeper list the way it is.

  9. Steve Stevenson says:
    (link)

Thanks to being married, I was late for the rookie/FA draft in my dynasty league last night (to her credit, the wife felt bad about it), so rather than picking 9th and 19th, I picked 22nd and 23rd. Ended up with J. Matthews and J. Hill, who were 9 and 11 on my board, but missed out on Benjamin, who would’ve been available had I shown up on time.

Anyway, we start 2RB, 2WR and a RB/WR flex. TD-heavy scoring, with no PPR and no fractional pts or yardage bonuses.
My RB: Forte, Foster, Tate, Rice, L. Miller, Michael, J. Hill
My WR: Dez, Roddy, K. Allen, Edelman, Matthews

    Questions:
    1) It wasn’t until post-draft that I saw Bradshaw and Wayne are available. Would you drop any of my RB/WR above for one/both of them? I feel like either could end up top 20 at their position, and I’ve got some things that could go wrong at RB. That said, my team’s getting old so a) holding some young talent on the bench makes sense, but b) maybe it’s time to go for it, as I’ve been 2nd or 3rd the last 3 years. Some other interesting WR on the wire are Britt, Marqise Lee and Wheaton. Could also cuff Foster with Grimes.
    2) The guy with Justin Hunter is offering him (or some other WR I don’t want) for RB depth. Would you offer one of the above?
    3) Thinking of shopping Edelman (I’m expecting regression, most of my leaguemates are Pats fans) for some young RB or WR talent. Given the dynasty format, would offering him up for a Hyde, Evans or Benjamin be asking too much, too little or reasonable?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Homer: @Steve Stevenson: I’d rather have Bradshaw over Michael and Wayne over Matthews.

      2) I’d try to turn Foster into something. You could probably get more though.

      3) I think it’s reasonable depending on what the other team wants to do. If they are going all in, it’s not crazy. Probably easier to target Hyde and Benjamin there.

  10. Allan says:
    (link)

Just finished drafting, 14 team league non ppr.
    QB: Aaron Rodgers, Andy Dalton
RB: Eddie Lacy, Ryan Matthews, Danny Woodhead, Devonta Freeman, Stephan Taylor
WR: Demaryus Thomas, Kendall Wright, Michael Floyd, Kelvin Benjamin, Kenny Stills
    TE: Kyle Rudolph, Zach Ertz
    D: Rams K: Dan Bailey
    Thoughts?

Question…..Nick Diesels league drafted last night with only 4…….. Ive reached out to try to touch him to get a plan but no luck…I need to be deleted from that league….What’s next? Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Greyismyhero: I could only find instructions on how to delete the fantasy team if it is before the draft. Since the draft has already taken place, you’ll have to email the Yahoo email contact and have them manually remove you.

You are, of course, allowed to join our other RCL leagues, and I hope you do!

does grimes just get a.brown’s old projections, or how much less than his?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@goodfold2: Are we really asking how Grimey it is? That’s what I’m getting from this.

      • goodfold2 says:
        (link)

@Jay: i mean grimes from HOU, the RB. your projections have a.brown still as backup, but he’s been cut. i’m trying to rank my players and need to have some projection change for grimes, or whoever else is backup RB at HOU now. It’s possible Grimes’ projections should now be very close to A.brown’s old ones.

        • Jay

          Jay says:

@goodfold2: I would agree. Those projections have not been updated.

hey Jay – asked Tehol this but I’m curious what your thoughts are

Just drafted this squad in a 20-team .25 PPR:
    QB – Brady
    WR – Andre Johnson
    WR – Colston
    RB – Forte
    RB – Gore
    TE – Ladarius Green
    W/R/T – James Jones
    K – N/A as of now…
    BN – Bowe
    BN – Knowshon
    BN – Marvin Jones
    BN – Jake Locker
    BN – Travis Kelce
    BN – Robert Turbin
    Def – Washington
    Def – Dallas
(waited on Def, will switch based on matchups – all Def’s have been drafted)

as is, I need a kicker so who should I drop for Shayne Graham? Marvin – he’s out for a while right?

Also, should I swap anyone out for any of the following available on waivers?:
    – Asiata
    – Malcolm Floyd
    – Brian Quick
    – Benny Cunningham
    – Stepfan Taylor
    – Denard Robinson

sorry for taking up space – but appreciate the knowledge!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@SheriffMcRawDawg: I’d hold on the waivers. And I know it[‘s a 20 team league, but the Dallas defense is a dumpster fire. Ask me on a kicker before the season, I usually wait until a few days before the first game, you never know what could happen.

    Hey Jay,

    K: A. Vinatieri (17)

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Steve: Nothing stands out to me here that’s bad. Not crazy about Ball, but I love Brown in PPR, and I think Wallace is being slightly underrated.

    Hey Jay,
Can you rate my team in a 10 team Dynasty league with 1PPR . We start 1QB/2RB/3WR/1Flex/1DST/1K…we can keep 5 guys so being that its 10 years deep, some guys have some good established keepers

I had to trade my 2nd pick for Stacy but feel pretty confident in my starters, late round flyers and guys with upside/keeper value next year(ala Gordon).

    1. (4) Keenan Allen  (SD – WR)
    2. (17) Roddy White  (Atl – WR)
    3. (24) Andre Johnson  (Hou – WR)
