So this week, we go to the quarterback position. Why? Because I sorta say so, and I’m the one typing.  Show of hands, how many people are still rolling with Matt Ryan?  I see one up front, a few shy kids in the back, and a high school kid just giving me the finger.  Well, in my estimation, a lot of you still are.  So here is my spotlight this week… instead of pretending that Matt Ryan is going to turn it around against the top ranked defense, why not look at a quarterback that is owned by a third of you, and started by just a fifth.  My fellow gents and rude high school kid, take a look at the Ryan Tannehill show.  I know he isn’t for everyone, but there are some of us that have a question mark there.  Tannehill is owned in just 35% of the Yahoo universe, and only started in 14%. The past two weeks he has outscored Stafford, Romo, Ryan, Geno Smith… ahh, you caught me.  You were paying attention.  The list of quarterbacks is pretty long, and it doesn’t start over those three definite startable options.  So stick around as I convince you to start a lower percentage quarterback over a fantasy stalwart.

Ryan Tannehill | FindTheBest

Tannehill comes in with back-to-back impressive fantasy games with 2/1 TD/INT rate over the last two games. The thing that is letting me pump him up more is his completion rate is over 70%, and if you didn’t know, that is good for fantasy.  Now, what’s great for fantasy is he is throwing the ball more per game, at a rate of almost 37 attempts per game.  You do the math there.  It’s basically an easy 250 yard game every week.  Now, go look at who is playing this week, that’s right… the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Who in all their profound beauty, are a sucktitude of fantasy crapiness on a defensive level?  They rank bottom three in passing yards per game given up, bottom eight in passing attempts given up per game, and are surrendering eleven yards per pass attempt.  You see what goes on here when the hamster gets on that wheel for a little overtime?  Numbers and facts, facts and numbers.  The other reason I have liked Tannehill over the past two games is he is nimble of foot lately, 9 rushes for 97 yards… that’s a huge number my friend.

So to regroup our focus, from the beginning, your starting QB is bleh, and you can prolly start a smaller name and get decent value.  I am here to tell you yes, yes, yes.  The Jags are going nowhere fast, and the battle of the America’s dangle will be the end of the playoff hopes for the Jags. I know it’s sad, but it’s never too early to eliminate one team.  So Tannehill seems to be gellin’ with the offense and getting some good swag points with Wallace, Landry Clay and the boys  So look for a better than average fantasy week and prolly better than the one you are hoping for from someone else.

Smokey Says: 26/39, 276 YDS, 2 TD’s, 1 INT and 4 CAR, 38 YDS, 1 TD.
