Although this is my first rodeo with Razzball, it’s not my first rodeo when it comes to writing about the NFL. One thing that I have learned about fantasy guy is that fantasy guy loves stats… And fantasy guy loves rankings. He wants to look at a chart and have the chart tell him who the best player is…

Fantasy guy also wants to see what other people think about a player… kind of. If you have a different opinion, fantasy guy loves to bombard you with stats to affirm the man crush they carry for a particular player. Looking for affirmation of his love for his third string tight end will often cause huge emotional swings for fantasy guy.

Here is my message for fantasy guy, as I am about to give you a couple more players I think will be over-rated in 2014: It’s not personal. Don’t go tearing up your 2014 mock draft based on my feelings. I put my pants on just like you do and there is a chance I might be wrong. It’s going to be okay.

In typical Daniel Snyder fashion, the Washington Football Team has won the NFL off-season championship once again. With the addition of DeSean Jackson to the line up, many are expecting great things from Robert Griffin III. Griffin had a difficult year last year and I don’t see it improving a lot this year. He is not the most accurate of passers, and inaccurate passers need to run for a lot of yards in order to be valuable. And I’m afraid his rushing days are over. DeSean Jackson is going to have to bust a lot of long ones to get RG III’s numbers up to where they were two years ago. I’m always leery of a quarterback that has to rely on a receiver’s break away ability to have success. Be smart where you draft Griffin. Don’t spend too much or take him too early.

The carousel that is the Cleveland Browns’ offensive back field continues to go round-and-round. Brian Hoyer is a possibility at QB, but most of the experts expect Cleveland to take a quarterback in the first or second round. I certainly don’t need to tell you to stay away from whomever winds up under center for the Browns. However, Ben Tate will usher in the new era of running backs for the Browns, and I know some out there that are going to jump on his band wagon and grab him early. Don’t do it. Tate had a good year for the Texans a few years ago, and the Browns think that he can be a feature back, but it’s fools gold. Running backs at Houston are system backs. Just like the Broncos used to put any scrub in the back field and get a thousand yard rusher, Houston does the same thing. We just haven’t had a chance to really see it. It’s always been Arian Foster and Tate. When Foster gets hurt this year again, and he will… His back up will light it up. It’s the system. Stay away from Tate, unless he’s available late. The Browns are the place running backs go to ride off into the sunset.
