Yeah, why not, a little Lou Reed… could be worse.  So this week’s spotlight will be shining on Delanie Walker.  For those of you who didn’t read last week’s post, let’s just say I am as happy as a T-rex with a back scratcher.  So if you own Jimmy or Gronk, or people all around the world of King Julius, you don’t really need to pay much attention here. The position is filled with uncertainties and injuries.  Tyler Eifert and Jordan Reed are toast right now.  The reports about Chuck Clay and Jordan Cameron are worrisome right now.  You have the ineffective first weeks of several other guys: Witten and Heath Miller.  This is where the pitch comes. Delanie Walker is playing the hapless Cowboys defense that couldn’t guard Vernon Davis or his five heads for the first half of last week’s game, that for all intents in purposes was over at halftime.  As SF started granny shifting and made Dominic Toretto post a SMH in his tinder account.  So picture this Walker, hapless defense not a fantasy savior but a fantasy guy being overlooked.

So the Cowboys allowed 2 touchdowns last week to Vernon Davis.  This really isn’t anything new for the Cowboys, as they can’t guard Tehol, and he is Razzball’s tight end.  Dating back to the start of last year, the Cowfolk have yielded some gaudy numbers to TE’s, to the tune of 939 yards, 8 TD’s, and 78 Rec on 138 Targets. That’s a lot of balls being thrown around.  Hell, I bet Uncle Rico could go all-state on the Cowboys.  Now why I like Walker this week is because it fits into a trend here.  When you look at the yards and who caught most of them, it’s to the tight ends that are of the “move” variety, or are used that way in their teams offense.  Guess what… Walker is used to get the medium to down the field attempts for the Titans and Jake Locker seems to like him as his safety valve in certain sets.  This is all great and wonderful, and I hear the but-but, but Smokey, what does this mean for me fantasy wise, and who should or would you start him over this week?  It’s coming in about an inch and a half. [Jay’s Note: That’s what she said?]

So, Walker this week is just outside the six spot for me.  The top guys: Graham, Thomas, Gronk, Vernon, Pitta, and then I have Walker.  I like the repetoire that the Titans are putting out there right now, they have the taller standout wide receiver in Kendall Wright, they have the take of the top guy in Justin Hunter, and then they have the always under-rated Delanie Walker.  He has always been a great all around player and burst out last year because the Titans offense was a sputtering mess of jambalaya and pig piss.  Locker has always had the arm strength, and now has a decent enough personnel around him to make him a decent QB2 option until he gets injured.  Walker welcomes in the Cowboys, hell he will even carry their luggage to the hotel.  He doesn’t shred them and make them feel bad, as this is only a couple week a year type play here due to injury and questions this week.  I would feel comfy with 5 catches 70 yards and a touch.  Enjoy the Thursday/Sunday/Monday festivities.
