Don't be shellfish...Tweet about this on TwitterShare on FacebookShare on Google+Share on Reddit

Jonathan Stewart has the skills to thrill, but hasn’t been able to get on track this season. It looks like he’ll get his shot on Sunday with Deangelo Williams listed as doubtful and I don’t think that’s his state of mind, but it could be. The Rams are giving up 4.6 yards per carry and their pass defense is their strength, so The Daily Show should get his work in. He’s a must start.

Before we get to our notes for the day, we are trying to fill our last Razzball FanDuel League so give it a clickety click and see what’s up.  And be sure to pick the best QB/RB/WR for the week in our Week 8 Contest and win!

Steven Jackson: He says he will go and I believe him. The Panthers have been gashed in the run game the last 2 weeks and I don’t see SJax not getting his usual 100 yards and hopefully a TD.

Beanie Wells: The Whiz has finally come to his senses and has named Christopher Wells his starter.  Feel good about starting him against the Bucs who give up a league high 5.3 yards per carry.

Chris Ivory: Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush are both out for the Sunday night game. Of course the Steelers have been insane against the run so it’s hard to recommend Ivory. With Aaron Smith out, there is a chance he could have a little more running room, so if you are desperate there is a glimmer of hope there.

Ladell Betts: He’s been a good source for PPR points and since they will be throwing a lot against the Steelers I see him racking up a goodly amount of receptions. He makes a decent bye-week ppr fill in.

Joseph Tamme: At first I thought we would see more of a committee at TE in Indy, but it looks like Tamme is going to be the clear cut starter. I’m leaning toward giving him a shot against one of the worst pass defenses in the league. His upside with Manning throwing to him outweighs the risk.

Antonio Gates: He practiced today and you saw what he did last week when he was hurting. Get him in your lineups and forgedaboudit!

Danario Alexander: Well, his knee is going to get cut into once again for a clean up. That’ll be five surgeries on that knee which is sad for such a talented player. He’ll be out a few weeks and is droppable in re-draft leagues.

Donald Brown: He says he would play if the game was today so it looks like he will go. There is a good chance he will split time with Mike Hart and it could be that dreaded “hot hand” kind of committee. I’m not high on either, but if you are desperate I’, leaning Brown over Hart.

Dexter McCluster: He is out with a high ankle sprain and could be for a couple weeks. This is probably more helpful to JC Superstar than Tom Jones, so feel even better about getting Charles in your lineup.

Vincent Jackson: He’s officially signed his tender and will start practicing and be ready to play in week 12. With the state of the Chargers receivers he is looking better and better to make a big impact once he returns. If you have room make sure he’s on your team.

James Starks: If you are keeping him on your bench it’s probably time to drop him. The news isn’t too optimistic for him to get on the field anytime soon.

Chester Taylor: He is penciled in as the Bears goal line back which hurts Matt Forte, but Forte wasn’t scoring from the one yard line anyway.

    @Howard: I would

    @genghis chone: I’d lean Torain, but BEst is close in PPR

    @Dominic: Non-PPR I’d go Stew

    Doc,
    PIck two of these for my PPR league: MJD, A Foster, JC.

    So the other day I went to grab Stafford as a replacement QB, but he was gone already. So then I tried to get Kitna but he was gone too.

    So the best options out there now are Garrard and Cassel. I’m thinking Cassel since he’s against Buffalo (which is awful because I’m a Bills fan), what is your suggestion? We get some points per completion if that makes much difference.

    By the way, the new rankings thing is bitching!

  9. Roger Lodge says:

    Hola Doc,

    Would you start Greg Jennings (@NYJ) over Jahvid Best (vsWAS) or Marshawn Lynch (@OAK) at my flex position? My love guru’s intuition has told me that you like Best over Lynch but still, Jennings beckons me from my bench this week. Whaddya think?

  10. Steve Mc says:

    Need to start 2 of these in a PPR league. Thoughts?

    James Jones
    Driver
    Sims-Walker
    Meachem
    A Gonzalez
    Jacoby Jones

    I got my whole bench used up on bye weeks and i need a fill in at WR/TE and possibly another option at WR. I picked up Brian Hartline already at WR. So far i’ve been looking at some bleak options because its an 18 team league. This week is looking pretty bleak but my lineup is strong enough to win with some 10 pt bombs off the wire. I trust your instinct over mine so just gimme something. Return points count fairly well so theres that to.

    Heres a few options I’ve been looking at so just pick the best 2.

    Brian Hartline, Devery henderson, Stefan logan, Micheal SPurlock, Tiquan Underwood, Darius Heyward bey, Tiquan underwood, Brandon Gibson, Anthony Fasano.

    Beanie is getting lots of love in the Arizona press this week.

    So, apples to oranges:

    Beanie or Colston?

  13. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @hideousmutants: Beanie for sure

    @Steve Mc: James Jones, Meachem

    @Roger Lodge: I like Best in PPR and Lynch in non. Jennings should have Revis on him.

    @G.O.B.: Cool thanks. I’d go with Cassel.

    @Christopher: Foster, JC

    @Doug: Harvin/Britt Crayton, Hart

    @Doug: Tough, I’m leaning Greene

    @trevor: Henderson, Underwood

    What do you see Tamme’s upside being? Celek is killing me in a couple leagues. Droppable for Tamme?

  15. Doc

    @emceeperiod: I think it’s worth a shot. Celek has been crap.

    so i’ve put dez into my line-up, for sure, with zach miller in my wr/te spot. i’m now wondering if i should switch him out for hawk williams. it comes down to who’s going to have the bigger day and the most opportunities to make something happen, i guess. williams is at full health but miller has been more productive over the long term.

    Best two RB’s to start this week in my 16 team league? RB’s points…1 point every 10 yards receiving or rushing, 1 point every 4 receptions, 6 for TD.

    Options: S-Jax, J-Stewart, Marshawn Lynch, Ryan Torain

    eli was just dropped in my league for some reason. I have Ben and Cutler. Would you ditch cutler and put a claim in for eli?

  20. Doc

    @Drew Crew: I’d go for it.

    @Joel: I’d bench SEA Williams. Asomugha should be on him.

    @cruisinkc: All good options. I’m leaning Torain/S-Jax

    @swingkungfu: Asomugha should be on him Hawk. I’m sitting him.

  25. Doc

  26. genghis chone says:

    I’m in kind of a weird position right now. I am very happy with the depth and quality of my team’s QBs (Orton, Big Ben, Eli), RBs (CJ2K, Charles, Best, Forte, Torain, Stewart), WRs (AJ, Nicks, Harvin, Britt, “Buck” Williams, Knox and V-Jax) and TEs (Zach Miller and Owen Daniels), but I have no kicker or DL (IDP league) and I’m at the maximum roster size. I’m 6-1 and leading my division. The obvious thing to do is to try to work out some sort of 2 or 3-for-1 but I’m not sure what I really need. Maybe try Torain/Britt/Eli for Peyton Manning?

  27. genghis chone says:

    Who do you like in my flex for .5PPR — S. Smith (Car), D. Bess, or Lynch?

  29. Joel says:
    (link)

    Doc, quick Q: Rbs are now CJ, Gore, Bradshaw, Jacobs and Legarrette Blount. WRs are Nicks, Boldin, garcon, TB Mike w. Qb is ARod. If you were me, would you trade ARod for Schaub and McFadden?

  30. Joe says:
    (link)

    Tamme or Moeaki for this week (PPR)? Also, which one to sit: R. Moss, or Garcon?

  31. BAM says:
    (link)

    I have two deals I’m mulling over:

    A.) my addai and r.moss for r.mathews and royal.

    or

    B.) my M.Williams (sea) and sims walker for s.green and Hester

    Less risk with the second but I’d like to rid myself of the possible headaches that lay ahead with addai and moss.

    Thoughts?
