Don't be shellfish...Tweet about this on TwitterShare on FacebookShare on Google+Share on Reddit

I thought we’d try another big league this week.  First place gets $75, second $15 and third $10.  $5 to enter.  Last week’s winners were Rob McAngus, NickD, and Iltat.  Congrats!  To enter this week’s Super League click back an inch.

I don’t feel great about my team yet, but this is what I have so far –

QB Jay Cutler: I figure if I’m going to tout him again I better put my money where my mouth is.  So I am throwing some quarters on this pizza. Mmm, yummy money.  Detroit has a good defensive line, but poor defensive backfield.  Let’s hope Cutler gets some time to throw.

RB Jamaal Charles: Denver is rotten at stopping running backs and JC Superstar had 23 fake points against them a few week’s back.  Now he gets them at home and Tom Jones is fading rapidly.

RB Michael Turner: The Falcons are playing well all around and Turner is a big part of that.  I don’t see Tampa getting a lead big enough to take the Falcons out of the run game and Turner had 107 yards and 2 touchdowns the last time they met.  It’s hard not to see at least another 100 yards and a TD out of him.

WR Legedu Naanee: It is getting harder to find cheap receivers and with VJax and Gates hurt and Floyd not 100% I think we’ll see Naanee get plenty of targets.

WR Mario Manningham: The Redskins are still bad at football and Steve Smith is still out.  His upside isn’t astronomical, but I think he’ll get targets.

WR Greg Jennings: Dwayne Bowe’s price went up to 9,700 billion dollars so he is just too expensive for my tastes.  Jennings remains solid and gets San Fran at home.  I’m really not loving any receiver matchups this week. Maybe something will uncover itself during a research session.

TE Jacob Tamme: He’s really the only solid tight end going right now.  Peyton will want to exorcise some demons against Dallas.

K Shayne Graham: I had to skimp on the kicker.  Don’t love his matchup, but we’ll see.

D Seattle Seahawks: At home facing Jimmy Clausen across the U.S.A.

    I’m planning to drop Kevin Boss (my backup to Gates) for Westbrook, but I’m worried that Gates might not be fully recovered and I could end up stuck without a reliable tight end in the playoffs. My other bench options to drop are K. Williams and Goodson (behind starters McCoy and BGE) and N. Washington and Floyd (behind AJ, Bowe, and Austin in the flex spot). Who would you recommend I drop?

    Would you consider a trade of Westbrook and Garcon for Maclin unfair for the Maclin owner. I’m taking a lot of heat from the league for it and don’t want to do something totally unfair. Forget’em right?

    12 Team NonPPR 2WR/2RB/Flex

    I have Cutler & Ben should I keep Romo? Also I have AJ & Colston should I keep Vjax? I have no other WR. I Would pick up a bench warmer like Goodson Gehart Dixon BWhite JJones Dressen/Daniels or a week 15 Defense.

    I know Kickers are kickers and I already asked if I should drop Carpenter for Keating which I did. Now that Henne is playing again is Carpenter the better guy to own? Are kickers ever worth a high waiver? Where do babies come from?

    still have faith in Vernon Davis after another down week? I NEED to win the next two games and score big pts too (.5ppr)
    would you start him or sit him in favor of boss or Dreesen (both nice matchups) or even billy bajema @ ARI (awful last night)……whats your thoughts on VD???

    And whod you start as flex (.5ppr): felix jones (soft indy def and no MB3), thomas jones (nice matchup and trust that hes gonna fare better this time around), Crabtree, Woodhead, BJGE

    Thanks

    @friar: I’d drop Washington.

    @MJD Took A Knee: Babies are grown in underground caverns and burrow up into barefoot women’s and bonobo ape’s feet and latch onto their stomachs and feed off chocolate and brussels sprouts.

    Kickers aren’t worth high waiver claims. Kaeding and Carpenter are equal enough to not worry about. I’d keep Romo and VJax until you have to get rid of them.

    I think you might be lying about the babies. I asked every week since week 5 if I could drop Cutler but you said to hold. That’s probably going to work out pretty nice now.

    Between Orton and Cutler this week. I also like Cutler’s matchup, but Orton has been quite a bit better on average, plus he blew up vs. KC recently. A lot of that was in garbage time, though. Think I should roll with Orton? My game doesn’t mean anything but pride because I clinched last week, so I’m looking for the highest ceiling this week.

    @doc.
    I have a short week to prepare….and I win my game Im in the fantasy playoffs. I lose, I need help to get in.

    1)Is Bowe healthy?
    2) Austin, Floyd, or M.Williams?
    3) Is it smart to sit ray rice?
    4) will mccoy be healthy?
    5)will tolbert make another start?
    6) TE: Keller, Celek, or Dressen ??
    7)what do you think of San Diego’s D this week?

    A pathetic question, but if Shaun Hill is out for the season, who’s the better QB2?

    Stanton or Hasselbeck?

    Thanks. Also, if I get beat out for Westbrook in the waiver process, would it be worth dropping Washington for Gerhart instead, or is that foregoing too much upside for a potential one-week performance? This week is a must-win week for me and I want to make sure that, if I have a chance to improve on McCoy/BGE at RB, I do whatever is necessary to make the playoffs (without unduly mortgaging my chances of playoff success).

    0.5 ppr, McCoy, DMC, Felix, Boldin, Buc Williams, Ford in the flex (pick one)?

  12. Nate says:

    Luckily I picked up Mike Goodson in my PPR league, and he’s doing quite well, but unluckily I also owned Frank Gore. Who should I pick up off waivers to replace him? (I put in a claim for Westbrook, but I’m assuming someone with higher priority will get him.)

    The players I’m looking at are Jonathan Stewart, Maurice Morris, Anthony Dixon, Chris Ivory, Bernard Scott and Tashard Choice. That’s the order I have them on waivers right now. Stewart obviously has the most talent, but I’m leery of starting both Panther RBs. Should I switch up my waiver priority?

  13. Nick says:

    @Doc: Should I bench Ward this week in favor of either Blair White (I have Wayne & Tamme starting already), Blount or Greene???

  14. DDT says:

    Knox or M. Williams-TB as my FLEX?

  15. emceeperiod says:

    @Doc: Got playoffs locked up…so thinking week 16. You like Henne v DET or Garrard v WAS or Hill v Miami?

    Thanks.

  16. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @emceeperiod: You can’t count on Hill being healthy by then. It’s a close call between the other two, but I’m leaning Henne.

    @DDT: Williams

    @Nick: I’d lean White if Collie doesn’t play. If he does I’d lean Greene.

    @Nate: I’d grab Stewart because he is the best.

    @Wilsonian: McCoy

    @Cheese: Hass

    @friar: I’d grab Gerhart

    @Damion:
    1)Is Bowe healthy? Yes
    2) Austin, Floyd, or M.Williams? Williams
    3) Is it smart to sit ray rice? depends on who you sit him for
    4) will mccoy be healthy? yeah
    5)will tolbert make another start? I believe so
    6) TE: Keller, Celek, or Dressen ?? Dreessen unless OD returns
    7)what do you think of San Diego’s D this week? I like them

    @SDPete: Very close for me, but Orton

    @MJD Took A Knee: I hope so. If he craps out again I am going to be peeved

    How about sitting Ray Rice for Blount or Westbrook??

    @Doc: Just did my FanDuel team without reading who you had. Ended up with Turner, JC, Tamme, Graham, & SEA. Either we think alike or Razzball has influenced me haha.

    Doc says:

    @Damion: I wouldn’t

    @D Gross: That’s tough. I think so.

    @timSTi: Hah, without that Eagles game it does narrow it down some.

  21. Howie says:

    @Doc: How good is Anthony Dixon? Westy will get hurt and it will be up to him. I saw him run once in the Monday night game near the goal line and he appeared to move slowly in a lateral fashion vs. turning it up and getting six. Sample size of one I know, but others are talking him up a bit… thoughts?
