Congrats to Razzballer Emceeperiod for taking first place and 75 green backs in our Super League last week.  I thought I’d go back to the 10 team leagues this week.  Join them here — League 1, League 2, League 3.

Here are my initial thoughts for my team this week —

QB Michael Vick: He is very expensive in FanDuel, but he has a great matchup against the Dallas pass defense and he is easily the safest bet for a big helping of fantasy points out there.

RB Peyton Hillis: Buffalo is very good at giving up yardage to running backs and Peyton Hillis has been very good at gaining yardage against defenses.

RB LaGarrette Blount: Last week the Redskins gave up 200 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns to Brandon Bradshaw and Mr. Blount racked up 100 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons who hadn’t given up a 100 yards rushing or a rushing touchdown since week 2.  These two statistical storms shall collide into a game of magnificent proportions!

WR Desean Jackson: He is overdue for a big game. I can’t say I’m a fan of the talk of his avoiding contact and not wanting to return punts and being an all around wuss bag, but he still wants to get paid and he’s had a few down weeks (for him at least) in a row.  Dallas has played better lately, but Vick is a different kind of QB.

WR Greg Jennings: He’s been on a tear and Rodgers and he get to play on the indoor carpet of Ford Field.  I don’t see Aaron Rodgers not getting him the ball.

WR Seyi Ajirotutu: Going with Vick and Hillis means I have to skimp in a couple slots.  This is one of them, but I think as long as Vincent Jackson is out I like The Seyi Kid for at least one long touchdown.

TE Ed Dickson: This is a very risky pick, but the matchup and price fit my needs.  As long as Todd Heap is out I like Dickson to have a good game against a poor Texans defense.

K Matt Prater: I’m following my “start any kicker against the Cardinals” approach which has been working very well for me this season.

D Denver Broncos: The Broncos defense hasn’t been much to talk about this season, but we’ve already seen two other teams play inspired football after their head coaches were dumped and this game will feature John Skelton at the helm.

    @Doc: Should I dump Shonne Greene for Seyi? I have Vjax on my bench, figure Greene won’t be any use last 3 weeks, I have McCoy & Blount this week. Doubt Seyi would be startable over Westbrook at flex but still…

  2. Nick says:
    (link)

    or would you rather just have driver, bennett, ford, hagan, alexander…

  3. Craig says:
    (link)

    I want to get Starks for his dynasty potential, however I am in the playoffs and can only cut either zach miller or kevin boss.

    Miller seems to be the better dynasty hold over, but hes injured and I do need to start a TE this week.

    Would you cut either Miller or Boss and add starks, or do you think Grant will assume his old role next year and Im just wasting my time

    Thanks!

  4. nick m. says:
    (link)

    Do you like the Broncos D over both the 49ers or Browns this week?

  5. Black Beard says:
    (link)

    How do the Seahawks factor into nick m.’s above inquiry?

  6. NateMarcum says:
    (link)

    Start two! Standard PPR

    Tolbert vs KC
    BGE vs Chi
    Best vs GB
    Ivory vs StL
    Starks vs Det

    I am leaning on Starks and Ivory.

  7. AdamH says:
    (link)

    Do you like Dickson over Fasano this week?

  8. AdamH says:
    (link)

    Or is it safe to finally roll Zach Miller (Oak) back out there in a must win matchup?

  9. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

    Denver over NYG this week? Assuming I make it past the first round of the playoffs, NYG has AWFUL matchups the rest of the way, so I wouldn’t use them anyway.

  10. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

    Would you start Blount over Bradshaw or Westy this week?

  11. zack neugut says:
    (link)

    Its 1 QB 2 RB 3 WR and a RB/WR
    For qb i can either use brees or kitna.
    RB: Moreno, bradshaw, westbrook, LT, Tashard Choice (im thinking taking 3 rb’s and 3 wr’s)
    WR: Mario Manningham, Michael Crabtree, Blair White, Jabar Gaffney, Randy Moss, Anthony Armstrong, Deon Butler

    Who should i play?

  12. TonyD says:
    (link)

    @ Doc

    Pick two of the following WRs for Week 14:

    Steve Breaston vs. DEN
    Sidney Rice vs. NYG
    Seyi Ajirotutu vs. KC
    Hines Ward vs. CIN

  13. TonyD says:
    (link)

    @ Doc

    Should I start Jamaal Charles @ SD or Brian Westbrook vs SEA for my FLEX?

  14. Mike F says:
    (link)

    Calvin Johnson@GB, Roddy White@CAR, good pass defenses, but probably gonna start them. I have Santonio Holmes and Terrell Owens on the bench. Good move?

    LaGarrette Blount or Chris Ivory at FLEX?

  15. Mr2Bits says:
    (link)

    Doc : Forte or the law firm this week?

  16. DiscoDrew says:
    (link)

    @ Doc

    Would you start Ed Dickson @HOU this week over Rob Gronkowski @ CHI?

  17. So So says:

    1 point ppr league where qb’s get 4 points for passing tds, receivers get 6 point for tds josh freeman or bowe . pretty much an even match up point projection wise between me and the other team.

    I wish I had the gonads to start Blount over CJ but if i lost because of that i would never live it down.

  18. charlie batch says:
    (link)

    big week. to start at WR: blair white, danario alexander, jacoby ford or davone bess?

  19. jiggywitit says:
    (link)

    CLE vs buf or BAL vs hou ?

  20. Nate says:
    (link)

    Pick two: Woodhead, Law Firm, Mike Thomas, Choice. PPR league.

  21. Whiskey Diet says:
    (link)

    I have to drop someone on my bench for a DEF. Who do you get rid of?

    Kitna/Freeman
    Woodhead
    Cooley/Tamme
    Michael Bush
    S. Rice
    R. Moss
    M. Floyd

    I’m thinking Bush?

  22. doodee says:
    (link)

    My WR are Holmes, S. Rice, R. Moss, Bess, Nicks. I need 3. Nicks played 60% of the practice this week and said “if I’m practicing, i’m playing” sunday. I’m sure we all remember that “Questionable” tag he had before the Dallas game when he had 9 for 108 yards and 2 TDs, right?

    I’m probably gonna go with Holmes and Rice. for my third I’m not sure if I should go with Bess. Is a less than 100% Nicks better than Bess or should I play someone else? possible candidates include: Bennett, Burleson, Meachem, Massaquoi, Gibson, and Obamanu.

    and 1 DEF question: Browns D, Broncos D, or Chargers D?

    thanks for the help

  23. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @Nick: I’d keep Greene just in case.

    @Craig: I like Starks quite a bit in dynasty, but I would rather have Miller because we know his role will continue. And you need to start Boss since Miller has been hurt. So I think that’s your answer.

    @nick m.: Yes

    @Black Beard: Denver still

    @NateMarcum: Yeah, it’s a little riskier than Tolbert, but I agree.

    @AdamH: I’d lean Dickson

    @Wilsonian: I’d rather have the Giants this week.

    @zack neugut: Brees, Moreno, Bradshaw, Choice, Manningham, Crabtree, Armstrong

  24. Cole says:
    (link)

    Floyd, Brit, Mason, or Branch? Pick one, ppr. Thanks!

  25. Cole says:
    (link)

    Sorry, i need to pick 2.

  26. Cheese

    Cheese says:
    (link)

    @Doc: Hey Doc, who would you start as a QB2 for this week? Stanton or Skelton? I would normally choose Stanton, but looking at matchups (det vs gb and ari vs den) I’m leaning towards Skelton. Thoughts?

  27. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @TonyD: Rice and Tutu

    @TonyD: Yeah, gotta go JC.

    @Mike F: Yeah, I think you have to go with your studs there. I’d lean Blount.

    @Mr2Bits: That is a tough one for sure. I’m leaning Law Firm after all that work Taylor got last week.

    @DiscoDrew: I would.

    @So So: CJ’s matchup is good. I think he’ll rebound this week. I’d lean Freeman.

    @charlie batch: That is tough. It’s between Ford and White for me. Leaning Ford for the upside.

    @jiggywitit: Cleveland

    @Whiskey Diet: I like Bush’s schedule and he’s getting more work. I’d drop Moss.

    @doodee: I’d go with Nicks if he plays. I like Denver.

  28. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @Cole: Floyd/Mason

    @Cheese: I’d still lean Stanton, but it’s a cluster F.

  29. Cheese

    Cheese says:
    (link)

    @Doc: Yeah choosing between Stanton/Skelton is no fun…. makes me wonder how I still finished first in the regular season…

    Now for my flex spot, I can choose one of the following (non-ppr): Steve Smith (CAR), Donald Brown, Forsett, Morris

    I’m basically debating between Brown and Smith at this point. I mean, someone has to catch passes against Atlanta’s horrid secondary. But then again, Tennessee isn’t great at stopping the run.

  30. zack neugut says:
    (link)

    do you not like westbrook at all?

    and any kickers or defenses you could recommend for this week?

  31. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

    Pick 2 (0.5 PPR):

    Bradshaw, Choice, Westy, Blount.

    Leaning Bradshaw and Blount, but have Westy in right now.

  32. timSTi says:
    (link)

    @Doc: Need to start two of these schmohawk wr’s in a .5ppr:

    Burleson, B.White, Bennett, Knox, or Meachem.

    Also which 1 of these schmohawk rb’s in a .5ppr:

    Brown, Starks, Goodson, or Beanie.

    Yeah I BARELY squeezed into the playoffs which a team of these chumps haha!

  33. timSTi says:
    (link)

    @Doc: To add to the above post. Ajirotutu and Ford are floating out there if you like them better than what I have.

  34. doodee says:
    (link)

    @Doc: well it seems very likely Cassel will be out against the Chargers. I literally dropped the Chargers D/ST and picked up Denver D/ST minutes before news of Cassel came out. Should I pick them up again (have to wait for waivers to clear) and start them over Denver or do you stand by your call?

  35. primetime says:
    (link)

    Playoff time Doc!

    Should I roll the dice with S Rice this week over Megatron in non ppr?

    I’m a bit nervous about him due to tough D and bad QB.

    Must win!

  36. MJD Took A Knee says:
    (link)

    How is Charles affected if Cassel is out?

  37. Damion says:
    (link)

    @doc

    need 2 out of these fab 4: Bowe, Austin, Mwilliams, and Floyd
    need 2 out of these fan 4: rice, mccoy, tolbet, and blount
    te: kellar or celek? Didnt keller have a stellar game last time vs Miami?

  38. BAM says:
    (link)

    Hey Doc…I’m STRUGGLIN’ with my lineup this week. PLEASE HELP!?!?! I’m outgunned in the first round of the playoffs due to bad matchups so I’m trying to get the most upside but mitigate risk as much as possible

    .5PPR, 1pt per 10 PRY/1pt per 30 KRY Return Yardage League

    QB
    E.Manning
    Cutler

    RB
    C.Johnson
    Hillis
    F.Jones
    T.Choice
    Dixon

    WR
    Bowe
    Nicks
    S.Smith (CAR)
    D.Alexander
    E.Bennett
    E.Royal
    (btw, Tutu and B.White are available on the wire also)

    I also need to choose a flex which can be a RB or WR.

    Any help here is GREATLY appreciated.

    BAM

  39. Damion says:
    (link)

    also at WR, does it change things with bowe…with croyles being the starter….do i use austin, floyd, or m,williams….pick 2 please

  40. timmy riggins says:
    (link)

    @Doc: kinda fucked at WR…have harvin, fitz, and v-jax….and have Crabtree, Bennett, blair White, Branch, and britt on my bench (ford on FA)……which 3 would you start in this important playoff matchup……thanks

  41. timmy riggins says:
    (link)

    non-ppr…..15yds/1pt…..td=6PTs…..and 30 return yds = 1pt

  42. nick m. says:
    (link)

    Would you drop Pierre Thomas for James Starks, Javarris James, or Seyi Ajirotutu at this point? I need someone to fill an OP position in a 14-team PPR and I can’t trust Pierre…

  43. nick m. says:

    Would you drop Pierre Thomas or Ryan Mathews for James Starks, Javarris James, or Seyi Ajirotutu at this point? I need someone to fill an OP position in a 14-team PPR and I can’t trust Pierre…

  44. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @timmy riggins: Crabtree, Fitz and harvin if he practices soon.

    @BAM: Manning indoors this week, CJ, Hillis, Choice, Bowe, Nicks if he continues to practice, not sure how many you need.

    @Damion: Not too worried about Croyle. Would knock him down a bit, but am leaning his way still.

    @Damion: Bowe, Williams, McCoy, Rice

    @MJD Took A Knee: I think he will make up for the extra attention on the run game with more looks in the passing game. Croyle isn’t great by any means, but knows the system.

    @primetime: That’s tough. I would still lean CJ, but you should go with your gut.

    @doodee: I would probably go with the Chargers now.

    @timSTi: I’d go with SchmoStarks and SchmoWhite and SchmoMeacham. I’m worried about the weather in Chicago.

    @Wilsonian: That’s the way I’d go

    @zack neugut: I do like Westy this week. He’s barely below those guys.

    @Cheese: Yeah, that’s tough for sure. I’d go with Smith.

  45. batman the horse says:

    10 team PPR.
    Pick 2 RBs: Turner, JC, Blount

    And would you start the third RB over Sidney Rice (other WR= AJohnson, Welker) at Flex?

    My thoughts are Turner, JC (even though he hasn’t had a lot of success v. SD, he IS Jamaal Charles. And TB says that Blount won’t get goal line ops), and Rice.

    Thanks!

  46. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

    @Doc: leave it as is, or play Bradshaw and Blount?

  47. Damion says:
    (link)

    out of austin, floyd, tolbert, and blount…who is best at FLEX

  48. Damion says:

    te: kellar or celek? Didnt keller have a stellar game last time vs Miami?

  49. timSTi says:

    @Doc: in regards to my question here i need to drop someone for meachem. cut bait on goodson?

  50. Mike says:
    (link)

    Kellen Winslow or Joel Dreesen?

  51. DDT says:
    (link)

    Doc,

    With Cassel out do I dare bench Bowe for Floyd as my WR2? My WR1 is Megatron and my WR/FLEX is TB.M.Williams.

    Also, Pettigrew or Cooley @ TE?

    Gracias!

  52. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @DDT: I still feel ok about Bowe. Not great, but good. I like Pettigrew.

    @Mike: Winslow

    @timSTi: Yeah, I’d drop Goodson.

    @Damion: That was pre Holmes and he hasn’t been getting as many looks. I’d lean Celek.

    @Damion: Blount

    @Wilsonian: Bradshaw Blount

  53. timmy riggins says:
    (link)

    @Doc: and if harvins out, whod be your WR3? (Bennett, blair White, Branch, and britt on my bench (ford on FA); scoring non-ppr…..15yds/1pt…..td=6PTs…..and 30 return yds = 1pt

    thanks again

  54. DDT says:

    Weather concerns: rain and wind are in the forecast for the Meadowlands. Do I replace Carpenter with Brown, who kicks in the dome this weekend?
    Are kicker questions even relevant?

  55. Hennessey says:
    (link)

    Bowe facing the Chargers D, Mason facing Houston D… still start Bowe though right?

  56. Hennessey says:
    (link)

    @Hennessey: 1 PPR

  57. BAM says:
    (link)

    I need one more WR…choice of Alexander, Bennett, Royal, Tutu or White

    Also, so Choice over F.Jones? Would you play any of the receivers above as a flex in replacement of either of the Dallas boys?

  58. Hennessey says:
    (link)

    Also, better defense to start…Broncos vs Skelton and the Cards, or Bucs vs the Redskins? Thanks Doc!

  59. Doc

    Doc says:
    (link)

    @timmy riggins: White

    @DDT: I like Prater this week. I’d stay away from bad weather for all kickers. Plenty of free agents in warm/calm conditions.

    @Hennessey: yeah

    @BAM: Tutu, Choice

    @Hennessey: Leaning Denver
