Don't be shellfish...Tweet about this on TwitterShare on FacebookShare on Google+Share on Reddit

Not that I’m breaking new ground here but I have Josh Freeman a lot higher than most this week which is a little odd.  He just lit up the Chiefs defense – who are for all intents and purposes terrible this year – to the tune of 328 yards and 3 touchdown passes.  The Chiefs are, at best, a middling passing defense and now Freeman gets to face a team 7th to last in terms of passing yards per game given up in the New Orleans Saints.  Even better news?  Tampa Bay’s defense is second worst.  This game could end 48-41 and I wouldn’t be surprised.  Each team is going to have to move the ball through the air to win the day so opportunities will be plenty.  Do I love Josh?  No.  Do I love his matchup?  Yes.  Do I love lamp?  Yes.  Do I really love the lamp or am I just saying it because I just saw it?  I love lamp…I love lamp.  All jokes aside, I have him in my top 5 on the week which does feel a little nutty but then you consider it’s a major bye week with guys like Michael Vick and Peyton Manning not available and you begin to understand.  Other than Freeman, I’m throwing a few more rose petals at the feet of Doug Martin and Darren Sproles than others are.  Passing catching backs in a high scoring affair?  Yes please!  Marques Colston as my #2 receiver on the week also feels right due to the matchup.  Outside of that, I don’t think I have anything crazy to share.  Ok, I have this crazy thing to share.  It’s like kegels for your face!  And with that, enjoy the game tonight and I’ll see ya tomorrow.

What are your/anyone’s thoughts on Britt? Would you trade away Nicks to get Britt + Sproles? In my 1 RB/2 WR/2 FLX league, I’d then have Forte, Colston, Antonio Brown, Britt, and Sproles.

Really on the fence with this one.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Is this a PPR league? Sproles as an RB2 in a PPR league is pretty good and I could see making the deal. No so sure about it in a standard format.

      • CT says:
        (link)

@Sky, thanks. It’s not a PPR league, so it looks like I’ll be turning this one down.

  2. CL says:
    (link)

I am jammed up this week. 12 team, 1pt PPR, return yards.

Safer to start Daryl Richardson at RB2 over Mendenhall?

Or dump one of them (who?) for James Casey or Kendall Hunter.

    Thanks man!

    • Sky

      Sky says:

If Mendy is healthy, you have to go with him.

      • CL says:

@Sky, Just saw Ballard sitting on the wire, so I’ll roll with him this week over Mendy.

          Sounds good

  3. Ray says:

I have a glut of receiving talent (Marshall, Colston, Austin, Britt, and Denarius Moore) so I’m considering trading Ridley and one of the bottom receivers (Britt or Moore) for Trent Richardson. Thoughts?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

As long as Trent’s injury is nothing to be concerned with, I’d like that trade for you.

Would you start Crabtree or Fred Davis at Flex in a .5 PPR league? Thanks!

      Crabtree

Scooped up Freeman & Santana Moss to fill in for players on bye, but you don’t seem as high on Moss for this week as I had anticipated. Would you move any of my bench players into the starting line up (PPR)? Thanks

    QB: Freeman
    WR: Nicks
    WR: A Brown
    RB: Rice
    RB: LeShoure
    Flex: Lloyd
    Flex: Moss

    BN: Powell
    BN: A Hawkins
    BN: Hixon

    • Sky

      Sky says:

I’d prefer William Powell over Moss.

Not down on him but Garcon has been out for a bit and his best week came when RGIII got hurt. Just more realizing he has not proven to be a large part of the gameplan.

What are your thoughts on Chris Johnson? I am real deep in WR (fitz, mike wallace, vjax, britt, hartline) but need help in RB area (only MJD, bradshaw).

I tried trading vjax for cj2k (cj0k), but he is countering with mike wallace instead. Am I giving up too much because I need(prefer) a RB? Should I try to get CJ spiller or Fjax from him instead?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

CJ hasn’t proven himself worthy of that type of trade. I’d want Spiller; try VJax again.

  11. HotRod says:

Just traded away forte…leaves me with Charles & DMC. I already own Goodson, and had Michael Bush as Forte handcuff… Smart to pickup Hillis & drop Bush? With both Charles & DMC past byes after this week dont see much value in keeping bush(except for trade value if Forte gets hurt). I also have the law firm as my 3rd RB…

Same question, I hit you up on the other post.

  12. Jack Full of Hate says:
    (link)

In my PPR I have Harvin, Fitzgerald, Torrey Smith, Antonio Brown, Kendall Wright, and amendola stashed. Is it worth it to drop Amendola? I think I need more IDP depth and feel a little trapped. I also have mendenhall as my 4th RB, with Foster, Bush and Morris ahead of him, and am not sure if he is ownable with Pittsburgh looking more like a passing team this year, especially after last week. I picked up Rudolph this week in a keep away move even though I have Gronkowski. In regards to Gronkowski I could see him missing a game at some point now that hernandez is back. Am I crazy? I’m as mixed up as this posting.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

      Quite the question potpourri here.

RE: Amendola, it depends who I’m dropping him for. Depth only matters when you need it. I don’t think that has the same clout in IDP than it does at a position like RB. I’d personally hold.

RE: Mendy, I wouldn’t be dropping him if that’s what you’re asking. I’d think there’s still a market for him at this time. Maybe throw him in as a sweetener but I don’t see a good reason for a straight drop.

RE: Gronk, it’s possible. But NE is 3-3 right now. Hard to imagine he misses any games if they need to keep winning.

RE: crazy, also possible. Psychiatrists haven’t sent me over your file yet. I’ll let you know later.

@Sky, Thank you Dr. Sky. I can send you my crayon drawings my therapist has me do. I use crayons because they won’t pierce the skin, sharp objects are a no no.

I actually thought of trying to package Gronk and Mendo and running with Rudolph ROS.

I know come playoff time I will love Amendola, Mendo is a wild card because him playing wholly depends on Bush and Morris.

        • Sky

          Sky says:
          (link)

Ha, no problem! If the shock therapy doesn’t work, there’s always a lobotomy so don’t worry, we’ll find a way to get you back on your feet.

That trade makes a lot of sense to me if you can get something worthwhile out of it. I personally hope Amendola comes back soon. Have drafted him on literally all of my teams this year. Hurt to lose him. Agree about Mendy.

          • Jack Full of Hate says:
            (link)

@Sky, I like the shock therapy especially when they hook up the car battery to my boys. Hey if I get the lobotomy then i can go get a job at E$PN….

I know in your rankings that you like Brown over T. Smith this week but I noticed that Houston has given up 12 passing touchdowns this year to Cincy’s 8. Even though cincy has given up more yards through the air they have given up less passing touchdowns. thought?

            • Sky

              Sky says:
              (link)

Ha! Shoot, that’s all it takes to work over at ESPN? Damn, I could’ve signed up years ago!

To be fair, Houston gave up 6 of those TD passes last week to an angry Aaron Rodgers which means 6 in 1 game and 6 in 5 games. Unless that Rodgers broke them, I still think they’re a stout defense to mess with in terms of their WR coverage.

                (link)

@Sky, RE: HOUSTON – thats why I ask you the questions, cause I’m too lazy to do the research I use to. Thank you razzball you have made me even lazier than I already was.

RE: E$PN – for real, the worst sports columnist in LA Times history now works for E$PN. Without a doubt, hands down just god awful has been on their shows for years and he is as big an idiot on TV as he was in print.

Thoughts on Stafford vs Fitzpatrick? I figured Fitz would be a bit higher than usual, but that far above Stafford?

I have to choose between Stafford, Britt and Rudolph vs. Fitzpatrick, AJ Green and Chandler just for this week only. Which one would you pick?

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

TEN isn’t very intimidating on defense and Detroit just looks like a mess to me. Unless the bye cleared something up for them, I’m going to have a hard time trusting Stafford.

I’d start them like I ranked them. Fitz over Stafford, Green over Britt, Rudolph over Chandler.

  14. Sampsonite says:

Is this the time to pick up Hillis while everyone is dropping him for bye week fill ins?

    • Sky

      Sky says:

Depends on who you’re dropping. He hasn’t done anything this season and is dealing with foot issues that have kept him out a few weeks.

    Hi Sky,

    This week’s question…:-) PPR, 2 RBs, 3 WRs and 2 Flex.
    RBs –
    Felix Jones is locked.
Then I choose between Fred jackson and Law Firm.

Flex – One of the RBs from above, Brandon Lloyd, James Jones or Jermichael Finley.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    B

  16. FillyP says:

Would I be crazy to start Freeman over Stafford? Rivers is my backup, but I’m getting close to throwing him out and working the waiver..

Rest of my team is pretty putrid this week –

    Stafford
    B. Lloyd
    Kerley
    Wright
    Morris
    McFadden
    Olsen
    Ridley
    Greg Z
    Seattle D/ST

    • FillyP says:
      (link)

@FillyP, Also – Gibson over Kerley? I’d have to drop Kerley though..

      • Sky

        Sky says:
        (link)

Tallest midget argument. Both are low-upside WR3’s attached to bad offenses. I’d probably stay Kerley, though, in case Amendola returns.

    • Sky

      Sky says:
      (link)

Don’t think it’s crazy at all, considering my rankings for the week.

Rivers might be a toss but I’d check around your league to see what value he has before I do that.

  17. AdamH says:

I have been offered Michael Crabtree and LeSean McCoy for my jordy nelson and Darren McFadden. Should I take that?

My team is brees, foster, demaryius thomas, Stevie Johnson, Darren sproles, James jones.

    2 WR, 2 RB, 1 WR/RB

  18. Prezii says:

Yooo skyseph! Got ur boy freeman goin for ryans bye.. heres to that! Anywho, in that same league we start, QB-2WR-2RB-FLEX, I have too many options..

Steve smith and megatron locked as WR. (Although Dallas secondary is brutal on wideouts) Ridley and felix locked as my RB. but for flex i have to pick out of leshoure, miles austin or britt. Or i could bench stevey and play miles(wr#2) and leshoure(FLEX)? Wat to do Yoda?

    • Prezii says:

By bench stevey i mean stevey smith… Gotta like ridley this week.

          (link)

Hey thanks! Yeah, I agree about flex but Mikel has already proven that he’s not an every week start regardless of matchup. Here’s to 40+ yards and a TD for Miles against that Panther defense(lessness).

          • Prezii says:
            (link)

@Sky, agreed, and that chicago D is no joke! I can definitely get down with 40+ and a score so ill toast to that.

              Sky says:
              (link)

And a well rested Chicago D to boot…things might just get crazy this week for Stafford and friends.

  19. Just want confirmation that I made a good trade – PPR

I gave James Jones and I got McGahee?

My WR/RB Roster is now this:

    Calvin Johnson
    Percy Harvin
    Antonio Brown
    Josh Gordon

    Lynch
    LeShoure
    McGahee
    Ballard

    • Sky
