It’s Thanksgiving today. It’s a time of year where we get together with family members, pretend we like their company for as long as we can stand them and then run away as fast as possible to the television once dinner is done to catch some NFL action, hopefully with a beer in hand…oh, that’s just me? It’s also a time of year to be thankful for what you have and I can’t think of anyone who’ll be more thankful this week than Andy Dalton. The Raiders are giving up the third most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this year and Dalton has taken advantage of bad secondaries plenty this year when given the opportunity. I’m no Nostradamus, but if the Red Rocket finishes with 3 touchdowns and 300 yards passing on Sunday, color me not surprised. Outside of Andy, I like Fred Jackson a lot more than others do this week…probably because everyone hates him because they love C.J. Spiller. Why can’t we all love them equally, people? Can’t we all just get along? I also think Dustin Keller has a surprise top 5 TE showing this week vs a Patriots defense that gives up the 4th most points to opposing TEs. And with that, I wish you all a happy turkey day. May you be thankful for your fantasy football teams this week and I hope none of them kick you in your cranberries.

Would u drop mcfadden for Bryce brown?
Sounds crazy but possible McCoy doesn’t come back for weeks……
Thanks
@Mike, meh. Run DMC is worthless, but in not sure this guy in Philly is your answer. Any better options in your league?
Depends on circumstances. I’d prefer not to but if he’s all I have to drop and I need to win the week I could see doing it. Would hope there were better long term options if I’m dropping him, though.
Would I be crazy to start Kaepernick over Romo? His matchup can’t get any better and there was a report last night he was getting the start. Plus, it seems like scoring has been down in all Thursday games this year which would hurt romo if the trend continues.
@Benny, nope not crazy at all.
Romo’s matchup is really good this week. I’d have a hard time sitting him when Harbaugh could yank the rookie and put in Smith after a few bad plays. I definitely understand the sentiment concerning Thursdays but it’s not a move I would do.
@Benny,
Don’t believe anything head coaches say to the press until it actually happens. There’s a good chance Smith starts and this could be a ploy to make New Orleans game plan for Kapernick’s style.
I’ve got a interesting start/sit. Need 2 of these 4 WRs: AJ, DX, Wayne, Decker.
I’m almost embarrassed to have such a “problem”, cause they are all WR1s!
Embarrassment of riches but I’d go with who got you here: AJ/Wayne/Decker
Need help with my lineup this week. PPR league with 3 WR, 2RB and Flex:
My current WR starters are : Roddy/AJohnson/Crabtree
Bench : Floyd, Maclin and Wallace
RB starters: Mendenhall and Bryce Brown
Bench : Bradshaw as McGahee and DMAC are injured
Flex : Not sure who to play here, guess its really Bradshaw,Floyd, Maclin or Wallace if all looks good up top?
Thanks in advance
@Mr2Bits, I am guessing you are a Florida fan. Gross.
Regardless, I’d go with Wallace in this spot if it were me.
Go Dawgs.
@Bmac,
Wallace in a PPR with Batch at QB? No thanks…
I’m pretty down on Bradshaw this week but I’m not really high on the guys you’re starting either. You’re starting the right guys overall in my book.
PS, you’ve dropped McGehee right? Are there any good FA RBs you could drop him for at this point? I’d drop him for Lance Dunbar for now for the off-chance he’s the starter for Dallas today with Felix having knee issues and Murray going down.
@Sky, Wasnt sure if I wanted to drop him at this point as its a keeper league. Guess he is not really keeper worthy going forward correct?
@Sky, And yea, I am not very please with my options as well. Every back I have owned this year (Forte/DMac/Bradshaw/Mendenhall) have all gone down with injury. The FA vultures below me (as somehow I am still 5th in my league) pick up all the Hillmans of the world before I can replace my backs. I should prob just stock my bench with all my current players backups as its been 6 weeks since I have made it through an injury-less 4 quarters.
@Sky, Dunbar is available. Would he be your flex then? Right now its down to Bradshaw or Wallace or Dunbar if he starts
Thanks again
Yeah if Dunbar starts, I’d want him at flex out of those three
Would you really roll the dice and play Hillman over Nicks in the flex? 0.5 PPR. Really need a win to stay in playoff contention. Made one stupid swap like this that cost me the week last week, so I’m on the fence of playing it safe and shooting for the homerun.
@Wilsonian, nope!
Hrm, I’ve never read ‘Hakeem Nicks’ and safe in the same sentence before but I hear where you’re coming from. Packers give up plenty of fantasy points to opposing WRs. I don’t mind going Nicks but I’d prefer the RB, personally for a higher volume of touches.
@Sky, haha. Yeah, I know he isn’t the MOST reliable. I just would prefer to see how Hillman is used before going all in on him. I know he could blow up, but he could also stink it up. Now that the first game has started, the only other options I have over Nicks would be (other than Hillman):
B. Brown (not Bobby)
Beanie
Andre Brown
Blackmon
Hilton
So it does kind of look like he’s the safest bet – now that I can’t play LeShoure any more.
Still prefer Hillman but Nicks would be your second option
Ranked #73 expert on fantasypros?! You need to step your game up man!!
@Jermo, And today I am thankful for: people who keep me humble.
Wells,Bryce brown,parmalee on waivers…
Would u drop DMC for any?
I already picked up Hillman
I start spiller and Martin.
Standard league
@Mike, I don’t trust Wells and I don’t know for how long Brown/Parmele have starting jobs. If you’ve already got a full line up for today I’d wait.
Big fantasy week as my 9-2 team faces another 9-2 team for basically the regular season title.
I have these options for my flex in a PPR league.
McCoy, Sproles, Crabtree, Bryce Brown, Antonio Brown or LeShoure.
Who would you go with?
Thanks!
I’d want to say Sproles if I knew he was starting/healthy but without that I’ll say LeShoure. You should really just drop Antonio Brown at this point. Charlie Batch/Byron Leftwich have pretty much killed his value.
Whats the reason Harvin drops so much from the regular to the ppr rankings?
Ugh, auto-rankings. I have to go through and clean them up as best as possible. Sometimes I miss one. Thanks for the good eye, he’s up near 20 at this point. Just worried about reps if he plays.
Need to make a call on QB within the hour…start Schaub or roll the dice with Kaepernick? Pretty big game this week with a shot at a bye on the line.
Cheers!
I’m not that hip about Schaub. I’d give Kaepernick a go there.
Hey Sky,
Is Aaron Hernandez worth playing today, even though limited? Last time the Pats said this earlier in the season Hernandez had 15 points with a TD. Alternative TE is Owen Daniels who seems safer.
Out of Hernandez, Nicks, Nelson and D. Moore, which one would you sit in a PPR?
Lastly, At RB I am currently going with LSH over Wells and Felix Jones. Any logic to this?
Combo’ing your first two questions. If you’re not willing to start him over Owen Daniels, you shouldn’t consider him in that grouping of WRs. I like Hernandez’ matchup and with Gronk missing, I think he’s the higher upside play to Daniels this week. I’d gamble and go Aaron but that’s just me. They’re ranked close together this week, wouldn’t fault you either way.
Felix might play today but I don’t see a good performance and he could leave early with an injury. I still think LSH is the back to own in AZ but admittedly I’m biased against Beanie. I’d play LSH this week as well.
Best Flex this week in a PPR
Floyd
Wallace
Turner
Leshoure
mendenhall
And If I win Shorts on waivers tomorrow, would he out rank whoever you suggest?
Thanks and happy thanksgiving
LeShoure by a nosehair over Turner. Unfortch, you’d have to start him today over Shorts if that’s the route you went but yes, I’d want Shorts over either guy this week. Think we have a shootout in that JAC vs TEN game.
Oh and happy turkey day to you too!
Hello, and Happy Thanksgiving!
PPR Flex: Percy Harvin, Greg Olsen or Mikel Leshoure?
Thank you!
Ooph, tough. I’d probably gamble and see if Harvin is healthy and run with him.
Happy Turkey day back!
Hey Sky. I lost Gronk and am in a bit of a TE dilemma. Not much out there on the wire. Looking at guys like Clark, Watson, Moeaki, Dreesen and Paulsen. I see you are big(ish) on Clark this week. Do you like him over the rest of those guys, ROS? He seems to be finding the end zone, but I’m not sure how involved in the offense he is, so I’m afraid of feast or famine. Thanks, man. Happy Turkey Day!
@Zeke, Sorry to hear you lost the Gronk. Honestly, you’re better off playing matchups than trying to find a TE ROS. Play Clark this week and look at matchups from here on out. Enjoy your Thanksgiving as well!
@Sky, Thanks. Will do.
Sky,
Happy Thanksgiving! Big week this week!
Need 2 RBs, 2 WRs and a flex W/R from this pool:
Welker, Decker, Cobb, M. Reece, BJGE, B. Wells, Hillman, D. Alexander, Dunbar, J. Rodgers
Need 2 RBs, 2 WRs and a flex W/R from this pool:
B. Marshall, B. Lloyd, J. Charles, Dunbar, J. Parmele, Daniel Thomas, J. Rodgers, J. Starks
Also, do you favor Dwayne Allen vs.Buf or Kyle Rudolph @Chi this week?
Thanks so much in advance!
@Rocky,
Going off of the weekly rankings I posted today in this article:
Decker/Cobb/Reece/BJGE/Hillman
You only have two WR in your second set
Charles/Parmele/Dunbar(if he starts)
I ranked Allen 10th and Rudolph 15th sooo…go Allen.
@Sky,
If Harvin sits do you give Rudolf a bump to top 10?
Probably not. Bears would just key in on him more and it’s not like he has the best QB throwing to him.
Happy Turkey Day,
Who should i start in the flex:
Andrew Brown, LaRod Howlings, or DeSean Jackson?
Hrm, I’d say LSH but don’t have much confidence in any of those three. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
Sky,
Brandon Lloyd or Kenny Britt this week?
Thanks and Happy Turkey Day!
I’d give Britt a go for upside. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Sky : Just came out Felix Jones is active, do you flex Dunbar or run Bradshaw or Wallace out there to be safe?
Flex Bradshaw
Is it just me or does Scheffler look like a much better all around tight end than Pettigrew?
At the very least, he can catch the ball. There’s a reason Pettigrew wasn’t used much near the goal line last year. Hard to think today would make the Lions see Scheffler as the sole pass catching TE in that offense from here on out. If the first 10 weeks didn’t prove it to them, I don’t know what will.
Feels like a weird question, but I’ve just been offered Greg Jennings and Dwayne Bowe for my Pierre Garçon. I’ve pretty much locked up a playoff spot which starts week 14. Thoughts?
If Garçon isn’t vital to your team, it’s worth the gamble
Daniel Thomas, Dexter McCluster, Dion Lewis or Kendall Hunter to fill in for Shady if he doesn’t go?
I know these are not good options, but I had a low waiver number and couldn’t get Brown.
PPR or non? If PPR, I’d go McCluster. If not, give Hunter a shot.
Pick one for the Flex PPR
Bradshaw, Stevie J, Denario Alexander
Must win week!
@AB, Not hip on Bradshaw this week and the Broncos have a solid secondary. I’d go Stevie J.
Sky, who do you like more Kap or Cam? I see you have Kap rated higher, but he’s also a bigger unknown. Will they have the same game plan or rush a lot. Will they pull him for smith if he’s struggling, etc
Thanks
Yeah, I have him ranked higher because he has a great matchup and provides the highest potential but your fears are not unfounded about a possible benching. He’s a boom or bust play. I’d play Cam if you want to be conservative, Kaep if you’re confident in your skill positions.
