You’ll notice a reoccurring theme on here. I really like the show Breaking Bad. That’s the first part of the theme. The second part of the theme is I don’t have cable so I’m always behind on everything. My wife and I are currently acquainting ourselves on the series as a new season finally came out on Netflix this Summer. We’re going back through seasons one through four – currently close to end of re-watching season two – so of COURSE I’m gonna make a BB reference as my header. How could I not? It’s like, I watch football, write football, comment back to football commenters and then watch an episode of BB. Some would say I’m missing out on life but I say to them a life without those things is missing out by itself. But more to the point, I can’t wait to see season four and I really, REALLY need you to keep the spoilers at a minimum in the comments. Wait, no, at a null…a nullimum? Yeah, don’t tell me shizz, m’kay? Thanks. But more to the really, real point, Mr. White. And to the really, real, specific point, Roddy White.  He’s been terrible so far this year. But he’s played through it. Which has also been terrible based on the stats. Roddy’s currently on pace for 40 receptions, 336 yards and zero touchdowns and has not looked good doing it. But here’s the reality: he’s gonna get better. After getting targeted 9 times on Sunday vs the Patriots (more than doubling his previous season high of 4), I’m thinking White’s working his way back into the Roddy of old sooner rather than later. Plus, one of those targets came in the end zone late in the game for what could’ve been the game winner. Unfortunately, despite the big numbers Matty Ice had some pretty big misses on the night and that was one of them. High and away ain’t just a baseball term. As stated, Roddy’s still not quite there yet but after last night’s performance, I’m thinking he’s on the precipice of what people drafted him for. Just in time for you to swoop in and say, yo, gatorade me, B@#$%! to Mr. White owners. I still haven’t found a really good way to use that quote. Doesn’t matter, got it in anyway. In other buy/sell news for 2013 Fantasy Football…
Terrelle Pryor – I can already hear you now. Woah, hey there. I don’t play in 2 QB leagues, brah. First off, I’m not your ‘brah’. Secondly, I think we have ourselves a low end QB1 ROS if he stays healthy. I’ll put it this way: what I thought Russell Wilson would be to fantasy owners has been what Pryor has provided so far. I know it’s hard to buy someone who seemed to win the starting QB job by default and whose initials are ‘T.P.’, but Pryor has performed admirably so far this year and I have no reason to think he’ll stop being fantasy relevant. Probably more relevant to 12 team leagues but the reality is he’ll be playing from behind plenty this year, his legs are a huge asset and he’s been able to throw the ball with more accuracy than many projected. Check in and see if the owner is concerned about his health and doesn’t need him because he has a top tier QB already.
Marques Colston – I can’t predict how your league will react to what looks like sub-par play that’s really on par play. The pace for the usual 80/1100/8 is still there for Colston minus the touchdowns. But something tells me owners are overwhelmingly underwhelmed by this steady high end WR2. Go down to the Colston Creamery and see how much it would cost to make your own creation. You can call it the Marques if you want. Make sure and bring your coupon!
Steven Jackson – This buy call ain’t for the faint of heart. Jackson has made it clear that if he returns, it will be after the bye week and there’s still a possibility he doesn’t return until week 8. But for all of that, his first game and first series of the second game (let’s just call it 1 game, shall we?) has been productive: 14/77 on the ground and 6/53/1 through the air. I’m not gonna pro-rate because it’s silly to off of that small of a sample size but that’s 100 total yards and a TD. The owner might be desperate for a starter right now. If you have the time to wait on SJax, you could be handsomely rewarded ROS. You prefer to be unhandsomely rewarded? Fine, here.
Mike Goodson – Lottery tickets. They’re fun and they cost next to nothing. Goodson has great speed. It’s unclear how the Jets will use him once he’s back but I’m guessing while Ivory is out, you can see him as the COP/3rd down receiving back to give Bilal a rest. Funny how the Goodson got a 4 game suspension. Change last name to Badson and we’re golden.
Khiry Robinson – I throw these names out like Khiry and Brandon Bolden after waivers because no one is paying attention to them. Ahmad Bradshaw. He done got the shaft but there’s nothing out there for you to grab, right? Khiry’s a message in a bottle. Pull the message out and read it. It says ‘how awesome were The Police? Very awesome’. Now flip it over and read what it says about Khiry. He had 12 carries on Monday night to Pierre Thomas’ 4 (though he chipped in 5 catches). We’ve seen obscure backs come out of nowhere and produce in NOLA before. PT did it. Then Chris Ivory did it. Robinson is an ‘I have a WR5 sitting on my bench and don’t know what has gone wrong with my life’ pickup. This buy is softer than a pat of butter left out on your table during the summer heat. But it’s still there and might spread easy. Yeah, I don’t know what I’m talking about anymore. Moving on.

Eddie Lacy – Not the biggest name and not a name I’m pushing you to just get rid of at this point. I have multiple concerns here. Some personal. Some pyschological. But none of those are important in this scenario so I’ll deal with the ones that do. Firstly, it’s Green Bay. how much do you believe in GB starting 1 running back on a weekly basis from here on out? Be honest with yourself here. It seems like forever since they have. Secondly, Franklin showed well in the game against Cincy minus the fumble. Sure, it was costly but it doesn’t negate what he was able to do on the day (13/103/1 and 3/23 through the air) after stepping in for Starks. I can’t predict the future of any running back scenario but I can see where it’s a quick pull for one guy or the other because their backup has proven they can get the job done. A lot of people are gonna still think of Lacy as an RB2 and that he’s just going to assume the starting job again. I’m not on board with that assumption and think this would be a prime time to shop him with no news of splits being talked about right now. They may never happen but do you wanna be there if/when they do? Didn’t think so. He’s off his bye which is also a selling point. Strike while the iron’s hot or before it gets cold in Green Bay…or whatever. Treat Eddie like he’s on a mannequin in a lingerie store and you’re the owner and sell something Lacy this week.
