I’m not sure that I understand football anymore. The Bills went on the road to play one of the best teams in the NFL without their best offensive player, a rookie quarterback, and one of the worse receiving corps I have ever seen and completely dismantled them. There are weird games every week where the game script is wonky and it just doesn’t pan out the way that we thought that it would, but this is the most lopsided upset that I can remember seeing for a 16.5 point under dog in the NFL. Reid will write up this game for you later on in the day so let’s move onto the six games that I’m reviewing for you. Please, blog, may I have some more?
The best blend of accurate and bold weekly projections for QB/RB/WR/TE + PK + Defensive Teams and IDP as well as a kick-ass DFS lineup optimizer and projections for DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo!.
There are two weeks in the books and now it’s onto week 3. If you take it at face value, this slate is pretty weak compared to the first two weeks from an entertainment standpoint. But, never judge a book by it’s cover and we’re here for fantasy stats anyways. I am looking forward to the Chiefs and the 49ers in the early slate and the battle for Los Angeles in the afternoon. Let’s get to the weather and injuries. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Loyal readers of mine know that usually I have either some sort of nonsensical or comically long introductory paragraph, sometimes relevant (discussing a DFS concept/tactic/strategy that I think would be helpful for you to digest), often times entirely not relevant. However, in this case, I think the right course of action is to get right to the picks, because frankly, there’s a bunch of good cheap choices at RB this week. That’s because a few injuries to starting RBs after salaries were published caused some insanely good values to open up at the low end, and when combined with the same pair of elite RBs from last week in juicy matchups once again, we’re looking at some tough decision making. So let’s get right to it.
On to the picks…Please, blog, may I have some more?
Last night’s game was one of the most depressing first half performances I’ve seen in quite some time. Tyrod Taylor looked exactly like the Tyrod who lost to Saints and Jags last season while he was manning the helm in Buffalo. We were all witnesses to Baker Mayfield and his greatness and why he was QB1 for me going into the draft (all the Baker haters can take a seat on the bench at this point). Looking forward, this week presents us with the biggest point spread in the NFL so far this season (Minnesota is laying 16.5 hosting my lowly Bills this week) and I cannot be more excited to watch another blowout with quality garbage-time Bills scoring. Here are some of the games with interesting fantasy tidbits. Please, blog, may I have some more?
What’s goin’ on everyone, and welcome to Week 3 of the NFL season!
Hopefully you guys all won in every league last Sunday, thanks to some awesome performances from Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan, Matt Breida, Stefon Diggs, and Jesse James of all people! Well, we’ve got what appears to be another awesome slate of games tomorrow, so…
Let’s get to it!Please, blog, may I have some more?
When building a DFS lineup you want to ask yourself three questions. Can this player score well? If they do, are they a good price? Will they be a popular play? The last one is less important in a cash game, where there’s no incentive for finishing any higher than the cut-line. These seem basic, but too often lineup building goes off the rails chasing a situation or player that doesn’t meet our three primary needs. Check those boxes for every player you roster. Does anyone else think the season is already going by too quick? Here we are at the top of Week 3 and depending on when your playoffs start we have 10 weeks left of regular season play. Still plenty of hours left for us to spend on our couches curing hangovers or putting a few back at the bar. Week 3 brings us a couple of new handcuffs to pay attention to and some repeat offenders.
I’ll spare you long blurbs about names I already wrote about but will give you quick hits on a couple previously mentioned that are still worth monitoring or rostering. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Rudy and myself are back with our plays and fades for week 3. Blake Bortles has made his glorious return in Rudy’s projections and of course Ryan Fitzpatrick and the unstoppable Buccaneer’s offense is a play for me. Check out the rest of our plays on the podcast file below!

My apologies for dragging MB through the mud last week on Ryan Fitzpatrick. Sorry MB. I’m stupid. You’re smart. I was wrong. You were right. You’re the best. I’m the worst. You’re very good looking. I’m not very attractive.
Ryan Fitzpatrick is the greatest thing since sliced bread (is it really that hard to slice bread?), but then what does that make Patrick Mahomes? What was the greatest thing before sliced bread? The wheel? So Mahomes is the greatest thing since the wheel, and we could maybe say that Patrick is rollin’ with Ma-homies.Please, blog, may I have some more?
What are my rankings bona fidas? Well, there’s finishing in the FantasyPros Top-10 Draft Accuracy (7th Place) in 2017, Top-25 Weekly Accuracy (23rd Place) in 2017, Top-5 Draft Accuracy (3rd place) in 2016, Top-10 Weekly Accuracy (10th Place) in 2016, Top-25 Weekly Accuracy in 2015 (21st Place) and on average we’ve finished in the Top-10 Draft Accuracy (9th Overall) and the Top-20 Weekly Accuracy (18th Overall) for the past three years. I’d like to think we’re pretty good at this stuff…
What does the word bona fidas mean? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, bo·na fi·des \ ˌbō-nə-ˈfī-ˌdēz , ÷ˈbō-nə-ˌfīdz \ means 1 : good faith : sincerity, 2 : the fact of being genuine —often plural in construction, 3 : evidence of one’s good faith or genuineness —often plural in construction, 4 : evidence of one’s qualifications or achievements —often plural in construction. On a separate note, I think it would make a great name for a cat.
What’s my ranking process? I’ve actually written about this in the past, and instead of working hard for new and enlightening content, I have chosen the more efficient (lazy, ahem) method and dropping in a link to that post here. Honestly, my process hasn’t changed much at all (the ole “don’t fix what ain’t broke” proverb comes to mind) and so my “A Day in the Life of a Fantasy Football Ranker” story still remains relevant to this day. (The TL;DR is: I’m ghetto as fudge. Well, I mean the other “f” word, but I’m hungry.)
How should I use your rankings? The same way your mother does. Which actually makes no sense. (Unless your mother is in the running to always finish top-3 in your Fantasy Football league. And if that’s the case, say hello to her for me.)Please, blog, may I have some more?
