As happens regularly during the preseason, a player’s value can change dramatically. Unless you’re Mark Sanchez. Then your value remains always the same. But for all the other fantasy football players that will presumably be drafted, it’s inevitable that sh*t happens. Pretty much a good motto to live life by if you ask me. So as things like Arian Foster and groin muscles happen, so does the landscape change. Yes, the rankings are not static, and I do make minor edits every other day or so, but when a potential top-10 running back goes down for the foreseeable future, I do make broader changes. This will happen at least once a week (updated rankings, not Arian Foster throwing his groin muscle away. Actually, this might happen weekly too now that I think about it…) where I’ll be updating the rankings every Sunday night for your Monday morning consumption. Don’t worry, this isn’t to make you dizzy, like moving Donald Brown up 45 spots. (I mean, unless there’s some reason for him to get moved up. Like the apocalypse.) These changes will be based on reports coming out of training camps, especially when it comes to health and the player’s roles, basically anything that I feel shifts a player’s value. As an example, you will notice after the jump that Le’Veon Bell has already moved up to the number two spot in the running back rankings now that his suspension is confirmed at two games, and, of course, Arian Foster and Tom Brady have lowered due to their current issues. Be sure to stay up to date, and we’ll help you with your draft no matter if it’s in a few days or a few weeks.

    Yo Jay,

First year dynasty league draft is this coming Sunday. Recommendations? I’ve looked at a few dynasty-specific ranks and people seem to be torn on weather stud RB’s or stud WR’s are more valuable. I tend to think it’s the WR given the durability issues we have seen with RB’s. I feel like their is a much higher chance that LeVeon has no knees in two years than Julio has deteriorated to the point that he would no longer be a 1st or 2nd rounder. At this point, I’ll probably try to go WR/WR and hope that I can get a combo like Dez/Green or Dez/Julio as I think most teams will be taking RB’s in the first round along with Gronk and maybe Luck.

D/ST and K will be my last two picks. And I am targeting Teddy Bridgewater as my QB. Probably pair him with someone like Ben/Eli/Rivers who will fall a bit in the dynasty style since they have a lot of miles on the tank.

Any young guys you are stashing in all keeper-style leagues?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jensen: Well, in a dynasty, RB’s are great, but WR’s have less risk, so it’s a balancing act. I think you should concentrate on young guys with limited miles and hope for the best. Jeremy Hill and CJ Anderson come to mind. With the influx of talent coming in this season, going OBJ in the first round then filling in your RB core with a Gordon or Gurley isn’t the worst idea in the world.

12 team auction full ppr keep 3 league 1 flex

    QB Bridgewater/Jameis/Derek Carr
    RB Forte/Lacy/Gurley/Mathews
    WR Cobb/A Cooper/Mike Wallace/DGB/Funchess/Stevie Johnson

    TE Josh Hill/A Seferian-Jenkins

Was planning on grabbing Brady or Eli…didn’t work out should I lose Jameis or Derek Carr for a safer Alex smith.

Just inherited a team in a ppr keeper league. Roster is as follows, and get to keep 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Def. I listed the team below and put asterisks next to the players I think I should select as my keepers. Just wanted to see if you agree.

    QB -Cam Newton*
    QB – Matt Ryan
    QB -Matthew Stafford
    RB -Justin Forsett*
    RB – LeSean McCoy*
    RB – Antone Smith
    RB – Bishop Sankey
    WR – T.Y. Hilton*
    WR – Percy Harvin
    WR – Jordan Matthews*
    WR -Andre Holmes
    WR – Kenny Stills
    TE – Eric Ebron*
    TE – Jermaine Gresham
    K – Stephen Gostkowski*
    K – Mason Crosby
    Def – Miami
    Def – Seattle*

@Filkarri: Yeah, I agree with everything, though I might want Ryan over Newton. Kind of a coinflip for me though.

@Jay: Yeah that’s the toughest call for me too. Thanks!

Hey Jay! Thanks for all the hard work!

I know the 0.5 ppr rankings don’t get the same fancy look as the others… but do they get updated each time you do a ranking update as well?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Rice: Ah, no they don’t, but I’ll update them tonight.

@Jay: I was going to ask the same question. Thanks for all the hard work Jay!

@Jay: Am I missing the half-point PPR update somewhere? I can’t seem to find it.

Nope. Been having a few tech issues. Should be resolved soon.

@Jay: Great, no worries. Just thought I was missing it tucked away somewhere. Appreciate it.

Dynasty 14 team PPR… Keep up to 3 in round they were drafted.

John Brown, AZ- 8th round value (Waiver claim=8th round value).

    or

Stevie Johnson, SD- 14th round value.

Can keep either one for 3 years. With Floyd’s injury and Brown’s age I’m leaning Brown. Thoughts?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mike: Yeah, Johnson has good value, but Brown as an 8th rounder I think is the best choice here.

  6. Patrick Leon says:

Holla Jay – Keeper league draft coming up this weekend. Can keep any guy drafted round 6 and later. Who should I be targeting? I haven’t had much luck findnig the gems so I’m light on keepers and am looking to really make a statement this year.

    Thanks!

  7. Dave says:

I play in a 16 team keeper league with 3 keepers. I have Cj Anderson forte and Aj green. Just got offered Aaron Rodgers for Aj green. Thoughts?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dave: Yeah, I’m okay with that, but it depends on what’s available this season on for your draft. If QB talent looks terrible, I think this is the season to bank on WR depth being there, in any format.

  8. niner says:
    (link)

My league takes running backs off the board fast. With a couple keepers gone from the top 20 already am I forced to keep Murray lose my ninth round pick or keep Hopkins lose my 7th.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@niner: I’d stick with Murray then.

  9. Alex says:
    (link)

$200 budget. Currently keeping A Brown for $16 n Lacy for $35…. Do I keep Forte for $47, Edelman for $14 Gronk for $30 or J Randle for $5…..

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Alex: I’d say Gronk.

      • Alex says:
        (link)

And it’s PPR league too if that makes a difference

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Alex: Yeah, still sticking with Gronk there.

          • Alex says:
            (link)

Is your reasoning because there is such a drop off after Gronk? Please explain

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

That, and the 14 dollar value is fantastic in PPR.

  10. Mike says:
    (link)

14 team PPR, keep three in round they were drafted. 2 RB, 3 WR NO FLEX.

    Was offered:

Miller, 2nd round pick and 4th round pick

    For

My First round pick (#6) looking at Dez or Demaryius and my 6th round pick.

Catch is you can’t keep any player drafted in rounds 1-3. My keepers would be miller/6th round value, Morris/14th round value and Kelce/8th round value. I’d also have two 2nds, one 3rd and two 4ths.

    Thoughts?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mike: If I’m reading this right, you can’t keep Dez? If that’s the case, I like this trade for you.

  11. Hit man hart says:
    (link)

In a 12 team, keep up to 4 player dynasty league …

If you don’t keep a player, you get the draft pick. So, I have: lacy, Bree’s , foster, Antonio brown , and Cobb

I realize that lacy, cobb, and ab are definites. What would you do with foster and Bree’s ? Let them go or keep one of those guys ?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Hit man hart: I’d let Foster go, depending on what round you get for him. Brees, it’s questionable. I’m in favor of keeping him depending on what round you are losing. If it’s super high, I’m fine letting him go.

      • Hit man hart says:
        (link)

I would get a 4th round pick if I let either go. I won last year , so it’s the 48th pick.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Hit man hart: I’d probably drop Foster then. Even in a keeper, you might be able to draft him lower.

Cj anderson, jordy nelson, best running back at pick 31 or take Emmanuel sanders, latvius murray

It’s impossible to find rankings that include both 2 QBs and PPR. Any plans in the works for such rankings? If not, how would you go about creating your own? Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

There should be a PPR button on the rankings. Or you can go to the rankings on the menu, the drop down has our own rankings.

We’ll also have some 2QB content soon!

@Bacon: Leaning Wilson if the league loves QB’s. Sanders if there’s some depth there.
