Well, if you hadn’t noticed, (which is most likely the case), we have our very own Fantasy Football Draft Kit! Yay us! (And you!) While calling it a “kit” makes it sound like some kind of Inspector Gadget wonder-tool, or, I don’t know, a Trans Am that has an artificial intelligence with an oh-so-soothing voice that blows sh*t up, because: 80’s television yo… well, it’s much more than that. It’s your one-stop destination for everything drafty (is that a word?) that originates from Razzball (that’s us!). You’ll find all of our Fantasy Football Rankings and auction values here in one place, and in the not too distant future, you’ll see our projections. On top of that (oh yes, there’s more, and it goes on top), it’ll be updated daily as we produce content. There will also be upcoming division previews and comparisons between our rankings and those of our peers (ESPN and Yahoo mainly). And while I can’t promise our Draft Kit will have Skynet like abilities in wiping out your competition AND the entire human race with robots that have an Austrian accent… we do promise to try to keep you entertained and informed. Because that’s what we do. (I hope!) Word.

So allow me to introduce the Razzball 2016 Fantasy Football Draft Kit

Trade question PPR keeper league. 10 teams. Would you trade your 4th round pick for Cobb?

I pick mid 4th. Is that good value for cobb in a ppr? Or would you rather keep your pick?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Brett: I think it’s okay. I actually think I drafted Cobb in the fifth round, maybe sixth in a standard the other day. With the PPR upscale… I don’t know, that feels like equal value. Maybe you can squeeze and extra lower pick or something like that to gain a bit more value?

in a 12 teamer 2 QB dynasty i have this:
    QB rodgers/rodfather/oswelier
    RB forte/ingram/ivory/forsett/mathews/woodhead (start 2)
    WR jordy/edelman/k.allen/d-jax (start 3)
TE green julius (JAX)/ertz (start 1)
    2 flexes (can be TE)
    K catman ARI
    D CAR
IDP (4 flexes, i have 4 of the top overall 19 by fantasy pros) david/ogletree/j.collins/d-jax (IND)

i pick at 4th and 16th. clearly i go best dynasty ranked WR at 4th (doctson or better, probably better as 2 QB league i bet one of the QB’s goes in top 3), but due to my numerous RB, weak class this year and 2 QB pretty sure i should go 4th QB at 16th. other than your top 3 rookie guys what’s your order for the next 4 or so dynastywise at QB?

      • Montezuma's Revenge... right now says:
        (link)

@Jay: QB’s total are the rookies + RG3, gabbert and sanchize, kaepernick and siemian.

    • Montezuma's Revenge... right now says:
      (link)

@Montezuma’s Revenge… right now: or could go 5th WR at 16th, all rookies and t.smith/wheaton/sanu also out there.

        • Montezuma's Revenge... right now says:
          (link)

@Jay: sorry, i meant at 16th, i’ll be attempting doctson (or higher) at 4th for SURE, as i’m weak in WR depth. so at 16th it’ll either be 6th WR or 4th QB. and from being in that league last year it’s never a bad idea to have 4 QB’s.

          • Montezuma's Revenge... right now says:
            (link)

@Montezuma’s Revenge… right now: doctson i’m pretty sure won’t be around at 16th, as either i’d have taken him at 4th, or if i got coleman/treadwell (only WR you have higher) at 4th pretty sure somebody from 5th-15th would’ve taken doctson.

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

@Montezuma’s Revenge… right now: Ah, okay. I probably misread that. So, yeah, I think in a 2QB league, pretty good idea to find that depth. I think I remember this team last season and we were struggling with the same thing a bit.

            • Montezuma's Revenge... right now says:
              (link)

@Jay: yeah, my roster is MUCH better than a 9th place team, i could’ve tanked it down to 10th had i tried, with injuries, but it appears to be to be a top 4 one, last year i went rodgers at 2 overall, forte at 23rd (lucky it appeared at the time), forehead at 26th (that’s what hurt me big time, buying that he might be even NEAR a top 12 QB. i did drop forehead very early, and grabbed the OS like week 4 or so).

how you ranking (i know your top 3 dynasty for QB rookie) the rookie QB’s for dynasty after those. prescott/siemian/cook/hackenberg. i might be able to get one of the top 3 at 14th, and if not one of the SF guys (gabbert first of course) or sanchize/siemian, then just in case…

              • Montezuma's Revenge... right now says:
                (link)

@Montezuma’s Revenge… right now: i see you’d have it (after the big 3)
kaep/sanchize/gab/RG3, and i see you must think kaep gets that job back at some point then.

                  • Montezuma's Revenge... right now says:
                    (link)

@Jay: i mean it’s mccown behind him here.

  3. Bob says:
    (link)

Thanks Jay! I need some keeper help. I need to pick 3 of the following. It’s a half point PPR and 4 pts for passing TD. Options are:
    Lamar Miller – round 3
    Davonte freeman – round 10
    Cam newton – round 16
    Kelvin Benjamin – round 13
    Julian Edelman – round 10
    Davonte Freeman – round 11
Lineup has 2rb, 3wr; and a flex. First two rounds picks can’t be kept so there will be decent players at the front of the draft. Thanks for the help!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Bob: Freeman, Newton, Benjamin. I thought about Edelman, but these three bring immense value because of their rounds.

      • Bob says:
        (link)

@Jay: thanks jay! I had considered Miller in the 3rd because he’s a going in the first round and I have the 9th pick in the draft so not sure what will fall to me, but I agree. Can’t pass up on the value of the other three

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Bob: Yeah, I liked Miller there too, but I think the other guys outweigh it for me.

  4. josh says:
    (link)

In ppr would you feel comfortable with two running backs from tier 3

or one from tier 3 one from tier 4,

or should i target one earlier. Its a keeper league so after i take antonio brown 1st pick the running back option at 25-26 might be a tier 3 guy at that point. When there still great receivers/tightends/quarterbacks on the board. which way do i go? get one of those tier 3 running backs that early or just wait till maybe the 4th, 5th pick to get them?

    • josh says:
      (link)

@josh: If mccoy, woodhead, or hyde are there at 25/26 would you take one them to be safe? or take cooks/hilton and pair that with antonio brown and hurns in the flex and then worry about running back later?

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@josh: I think you take Cooks/Hilton there and hope one of those three RB fall a bit to you again.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@josh: I’m comfortable with both actually. This season is really WR dependent, even in standard leagues. See how the draft flows and how people are drafting. If people are going RB heavy, then your first option is fine. If not, sneak in another WR in that area.

  5. Eric says:
    (link)

Keeper question: 10 team PPR league. Can keep up to 3 players. Draft budget is $200. I think Lamar Miller for $6 is a no brainer. Struggling to decide between Deandre Hopkins for $31, Carlos Hyde for $1 or Jordan Reed for $1. Can keep a player for 5 years with $5 dollar increments added to original draft price. Should I just risk throwing Hopkins back and have to pay a higher price to if I want him again(Dez and AJ Green will be available for drafting too) or just keep the dollar playesr because of the bargain?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Eric: I actually think you go Reed here. He’s the clear number two behind Gronk, and that value is astounding. Look at it this way, that’s 30 bucks savings, and then you add in how much Reed would have gone for… maybe 16? Based on your prices there and that’s potentially 46 dollars of value. Now, if that’s right where Hopkins would be, I think you do it since you also get the value of holding for multiple years.

Question, you can get out of those five years at any time though, right? Or are you locked in. That would make a big difference to me.

      • Eric says:
        (link)

@Jay: You can get out of it at any time. Don’t have to keep a player for the full 5 years. Thanks for the advice. Think having Lamar, Hyde and Jordan Reed for 8 bucks total and having $192 left to get WR’s leaves me in a better position.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Eric: Yeah, that’s extreme purchasing power, for sure. I think I’ll go over this when I talk about auction strategy too.

  6. Scott says:
    (link)

    Great draft last night Jay!
Looks like yahoo didn’t like our picks and gave us a D.

Here’s their “expert” advice for me:
While Crimson Fratellis is projected to have three subpar positions, K is clearly their weakest unit and should be upgraded first.

    Really, Kicker advice?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Scott: Thanks! Lot of interesting things to talk about in the RCL update, as I think this was the first draft overall.

Yeah, I got a D or F from Yahoo. They are drunk.

  7. Mike says:
    (link)

    Hi Jay,
In a Keeper league (0.5 PPR ), my options are AP (lose 1st), Cooks (4th), and Foster (12th). AP and Cooks or AP and Foster basically….. Thanks man.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mike: Foster I think is too big a gamble, and I like Cooks there, still a great value.

  8. Bobbo says:
    (link)

    12 team PPR 2 keepers
Keeping Todd gurley but would you keep deandre Hopkins or rob Gronkowski along with him?

    • Mobin Can't Hack It says:
      (link)

@Bobbo: hopkins, age, less injury risk if it’s just keeper forever at no prices.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Bobbo: Yeah, with Mobin here, Hopkins.

  9. Rondo says:
    (link)

I know this is a long list but how would you rank these guys in .5 PPR. ?

    K. Allen, Bell, Cooper, McCoy, Demaryius, Charles, Watkins, Lacy, Reed

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Rondo: I have Charles, Bell, Allen, McCoy, Coop, Watkins, Lacy, Thomas and Reed. No worries!

  10. PaulZone says:
    (link)

In a keeper league, I have McCoy, CJ Anderson, Rawls and Foster for RBs. I can keep 2 max. Would you trade CJ Anderson & Rawls for Lamar Miller?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@PaulZone: I think I would. Great case of combining a roster crunch into something you can keep.

Hey, just wanted to let you know specifically that while our projections aren’t completely finished, I know that you needed them asap, so here’s a preliminary version: http://football.razzball.com/projections

  12. Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
    (link)

20 team dynasty with (near) starting real life rosters. keep up to 30. i won this league (mostly from cousins all of sudden being a top 6 QB by my league’s parameters last year, and having a killer IDP team, late year hightower etc). 15 yds per reception yard, PPR, only 5 yds per rushing yard. +1 for completions (explains why a guy with a bunch of short passes was top 6), last year -1 for incompletions, now it’s -2. by start of season we HAVE to have at least 10 team named players. i’m WAS.
-QB cousins/RG3 (couldn’t even trade him to CLE owner, weird)
-RB AP/smoke some RB (blount)/sims (dropped hightower/morris, couldn’t get even a 4th rounder for either, even to the DAL/NO owners, so need some RB depth, but we only need to start one)
-WR d-jax/aiken/garcon/agholor (start 2, but still could use some depth, went agholor last year at 4th overall, barely missed cooper)
    – TE reed/ASJ (start 1)
one flex, and clearly it’s a RB pretty much if possible.
    IDPs:
    – LB (start 3) david/k.alexander/kendricks (MIN)/anthony (that’s 4 in the top 32 per fantasy pros)
    – DE (start 2) c.campbell/heyward/c.johnson (CAR) (that’s 3 in the top 23)
    – DT (start 2) donald/c.mcdonald (TB)/c.baker (WAS) (2 in the top 12, with #1, other just outside top 20)
    – S (start 2) collins (#2 ranked), bucannon (is playing LB for real now i think, ranked 23 in LB), parker (KC, and he might get CB again like last year)
    – CB (start 2) breeland/hall (both WAS guys, hall is now a S (32 at S), breeland #1)
so i draft at picks 20th, 29th, 40th and 60th. figuring there’s no way i get doctson, and only WAS players that seem useful left are:
    c.thompson RB
will compton LB (a somewhat useful LB, but i don’t need LB and i could add a 5th near as good as him if i need it anyway)
s.cravens LB/S (THIS guy might eventually steal compton’s value, but yahoo is somehow projecting him as the BEST S available, so i might not get him either)
    k.marshall RB
WAS K (this guy i’ll easily get, nobody owned him last year, even as about 4 owners had 2 kickers)
this kind of league is where i’ll REALLY miss kevin (no small part of that team having like 6 of the top 8 weekly scores last year, 4 of them post week 9).
i need to eventually get 3 more WAS players, BUT i can IR stash j.galette/s.daniels LB’s once draft is over, so really 1 more useful WAS player (esp if it’s one in which WAS is basing it’s real life team around, like doctson or sua cravens LB/S)

any general ideas about this strategy: (mckinnon/m.bryant also not kept)
    1. pick 20: doctson (if possible) or just best rookie (specifically RB or WR)
    2. pick 29: assuming i don’t get a WR at 20th, i either go cravens/m.bryant/c.thompson/mckinnon (backs up AP) OR get one of this year’s best S rookies k.joseph (OAK)/k.neal (ATL) and attempt to trade collins for k.benjamin (i’ve talked to NYG owner and this may be doable, esp if he gets shepard at #9). collins is now ranked in top 3 S’s everywhere i can find, and got 6th in our league last year (outside of agholor last year i drafted ONLY top end rookie IDPs in collins/kendrick/anthony). those 2 above have similar draft grades to the one collins had last year.
    3. if NYG gets shepard at 9, and doctson is gone i might be able to grab perkins at 20th, and then trade for k.benjamin that way as well.
    4. at pick 60 (my last) i grab just some depth player for another team (hightower/morris) with intention of trading immediately for next year pick, then stash my 2 WAS IR guys to count towards the 10, later grabbing a kicker (possibly WAS’s). if i don’t do this i’ll have to drop somebody to stash those 2 anyway, unless i get (un)lucky and one of my actual players i want gets IR’d by start of season. i could just make sure i get 3/4th of my picks being WAS players, but unless i get doctson (and later 2/3 of cravens/thompson/WAS K/w.compton) that seems like lesser option value-wise.

particularly with this league’s specs, how much more do guys like c.thompson/k.marshall/mckinnon go up in value (guys who might become starting RB’s). i’ll go ahead and assume names like henry/dixon/perkins/booker/howard already go ahead of the less than top 4 rookie WR’s (not counting doctson).

    • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
      (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: should read 5 yds per rushing POINT, 15 per for receiving

      • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
        (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: IDP’s score more in this league than in most. not ridiculously so, but from last year having a top 2 LB (david) + numerous other top 20’s, top 1 DT (donald), all S/CB in top 30, to the point where i’d just destroy people, in the playoffs i was beating people by over 100 sometimes. if i look at other roster’s offensives they should’ve been closer to me, except Kevin’s help got my IDP’s so good it wasn’t close often.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

What up APP! Doctson or best rookie, yeah. I like Doctson in this type of league, for sure. It may be a safe pick, but I do like McKinnon out of those names. AP is only getting older… and he’s shown some flashes. I like number three’s scenario there too. Yeah, and leaning Morris slightly there I think, but honestly, it’s pretty much the same thing. And yeah, in such a… robust league, I think trying to focus on guys that could raise their ceiling simply by waiting for the guy ahead of them to tumble is a good strat.

      • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
        (link)

@Jay: yeah, i maybe should’ve just kept morris in the first place and drafted 3 people, but he’s 3rd on the depth chart (and this isn’t one of those “preseason only” depth charts, i’m guessing it’s real), had he been 2nd i’d have kept him, not like he’s old like hightower.

        • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
          (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: oh forgot, where in your dynasty WR would ginn (scrimmage yards + punt returns) or bray (apparently both kick and punt returns at WR for IND, but those jobs are NOT secure anymore, and don’t yield nearly as many yards as 3 years ago, before NFL f’up the rules for too many TB’s) go roughly, in case i miss out on the big name rookie WR (or bryant)?

i did learn long ago to not assume the projections for kick returns is set in stone, i had drafted patterson very early in other leagues numerous times last few years, and i used to have t.austin here (but stupidly dropped when he was a small part of a horrible offense, likely to keep my great IDP’s, now austin is QUITE valuable in this league)

          • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
            (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: hells yeah, got
            20th = doctson
29th = mckinnon (rookie RB’s were in fact valued mostly accordingly)
            40th = cravens
60th = hope hope hopeing for perkins for trade value. NYG didn’t get shepard (went 2 overall!) but did get coleman

            • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
              (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: missed perkins by 5 picks. will drop c.thompson (maybe, although i do have my minimum 10 WAS guys now) if i can trade l.collins for benjamin, then stash the IR’d WAS guys and grab a top rookie S still out there (so far)

              • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
                (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: wow, now yahoo’s stupid ass software is autopicking kickers away so much there’s only 3 starters left. wonder how long i gotta wait till somebody drops one if they all go away.

                • Jay

                  (link)

@Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: Yahoo’s rankings are the issue too. They rank QB’s and Kickers way too high…

                  • Aubrey Plaza's Pillow says:
                    (link)

@Jay: not only that EVEN IF you set up the “predraft rankings” at yahoo their “system” is set up to assume things like
                    1. a 2nd kicker is better to have than a 5th RB (even if that 5th RB is GURLEY). last year i lost gurley (even though he was the TOP of my rankings) in a dynasty (later traded AP for gurley and a 2nd rounder).
yahoo is a complete joke if you miss your draft. i fought very hard (with myself) to not just quit that league, as every time i open the team page i’m reminded that i ended up with a backup TE (d.walker) rather than gurley. it’s the one spot i’m hoping AP completely falls apart (it’d be like a rape victim hearing about her attacker falling off a bridge or something of that nature), to take back what yahoo did to me.

    Hilton/reed
    Hilton Watkins

    Landry/Watkins

Ppr dynasty. In the entry draft I need a wr. 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 2 w/r/t flex, 1 te. Roster is tyrod, rg3, leveon, cj anderson, rawls, hyde, draughn, gronk, julio jones, mike floyd, agholor, Seth Roberts, martavis.

Best on board are pryor, Chris hogan, bruce ellington, torrey, coates, jaelen strong, terrace williams, sanu. Also have goff, wentz, paxton lynch, Josh ferguson, Dwyane allen, devontae booker if you think any are too good to pass up. 2 picks before me so top 3 would be great. Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@Brian: Probably leanign Torrey Smith there. If not, then Coates, then Sanu.
