What’s going on everyone, and welcome to Week 9! This past few days have been absolutely crazy in the NFL, and have definitely shaken up a few things, so if you want to know how all of these moves could impact your fantasy team, be sure to check out MB’s fantastic article breaking everything down for you.

Let’s get to Week 9!

*Note*: All projections are based off of standard-scoring points, with the ranking given as the Pigskinonator ranking, not my personal rank.

Players I’m High On

Tyrod Taylor @ NYJ: Proj: 15.52 pts (#10 QB)

I would have liked Taylor even without his newest weapon in Kelvin Benjamin in this matchup against the Jets, but now you just have to like him even more in this matchup. The Jets give up close to 24 fantasy points per game to the QB position, and Taylor should excel in this matchup.

Adrian Peterson @ SF: Proj: 12.96 pts (#5 RB)

Now that it’s looking like David Johnson won’t make it back this year, and with HC Bruce Arians now fully committing to AD, it’s all systems go for the veteran running back, especially this week against a 49ers defense that gives up 113 yards and 0.75 TD’s per game to the RB position.

Jarvis Landry vs. OAK: Proj: 10.74 pts (#3 WR)

Now that Jay Ajayi is out of the offense, and with the potential that Jay Cutler could return this week, it’s looking like a great matchup for Landry against this weak Raiders secondary that surrenders nearly 30 points per game to the WR position.

Jack Doyle @ HOU: Proj: 7.94 pts (#6 TE)

Jack Doyle had himself quite a week against the Bengals last week, and if his role stays the same in this offense this week as well, which I think it really could, he draws a good matchup against a defense that surrendered a lot of production to Jimmy Graham last week.

Players I’m Down On

Kirk Cousins @ SEA: Proj: 12.37 pts (#22 QB)

They may get some of their pieces back, but last week showed that Cousins doesn’t have an offensive line, and on this west-coast road trip, I’d rather have another QB to pick from.

Jay Ajayi vs. DEN: Proj: 8.54 pts (#22 RB)

First off, for those of you that have Ajayi, trade him now while his value is sky-high. There’s no way, in my opinion, that Ajayi is the lead or bell-cow running back in Philadelphia. Pederson loves him some RBBC, and Ajayi is just another piece in the backfield. Especially for this week against Denver, I don’t see how you could start him.

Pierre Garcon vs. ARI: Proj: 6.11 pts (#35 WR)

The Cardinals have had a bye to prepare for this 49ers offense, which really just flows through Hyde and Garcon. Garcon should see Peterson, which is a big nope for me. Maybe next week he’ll crush it with Jimmy G. Who knows? I clearly don’t.

Cameron Brate @ NO: Proj: 7.01 pts (#8 TE)

I’m not too low on him, because you pretty much have to start him if he’s your only TE option, but just keep in mind this Saints defense has done a good job of limiting TE production in the past.

Alright guys, that about does it for me. Good luck to everyone in Week 9, and as always I’ll see you guys tomorrow on the Razzblitz podcast and next Wednesday to do this all over again. If you have any questions, leave one below! Take it easy.

With Brock Lobster starting, does he move up enough to pass Beathard?

Also, please give me the phone # to the fantasy football version of the Gamblers Anonymous hotline for asking that question.

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Steve Stevenson: Yeah, I would say that I’m higher now on Osweiler by default over Beathard, but I’m definitely not excited about the two.

  2. JB2 says:
    (link)

Should I deal Kenyan Drake for Marshawn Lynch? Drake either blows up or is a dud, but I feel like his upside is way higher than Beast Mode.

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@JB2: I would still hold onto Lynch now that he’s back. I don’t know that Drake will be the stud. It could be Damien Williams. It could be neither

  3. Lubey says:
    (link)

    Trade question for ya

14 teams, 0.5 ppr, start 1qb, 2, rb, 2 wr, 2 flex (rb, wr, te)

    QB Wilson
RB McCoy, Elliot, McKinnon, Morris, Woodhead
    WR Hill, Shepard, Doctson, Lockett
    TE Graham, Henry, Olsen

Ive been pretty weak at wr all year, but have managed a 7-1 record. Pryor kinda screwed me; just dropped him this week.

The trade available is Henry for DeVante Parker. Do you think this is enough value for Henry? What receivers would you be targeting for Henry? The initial trade was for Jeffery, but then he countered with Parker. I personally think Henry’s best days are ahead of him. I could see if I can move JimmyG

Ive got the TE depth and its nice trading him on his bye week. Thoughts? Thanks man!!

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Lubey: I don’t mind this trade at all. Pull the trigger

  4. JohnnyBeGood says:
    (link)

    Hey Zach!

    1) Which side you like better for this week & then ROS in PPR league:
Garcon & Rudolph or JuJu & Kupp?

    2) Drop Pryor for Terrence Williams, or start Kelvin tomorrow night? or start Pryor on Sun at Sea?

    Thanks!!

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@JohnnyBeGood: JuJu and Kupp for this week and ROS.

      I would rather start Kelvin.

  5. Turd Burglar says:
    (link)

    Would love some guidance.

My RBs are – Lamar Miller, Mckinnon, Kamara, and Crowell
My WRs are – Bryant, Fuller, Stills, Watkins, Ginn Jr.

Was offered a trade: Lamar Miller for Bradin Cooks

Could i do better? Please help!

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Turd Burglar: I would keep your team as is

  6. Scott says:
    (link)

I own Benjamin. If he doesn’t play tomorrow who do i start out of this group of wr: doctson (bench), marlin, lockett, kearse, snead (all other wr are FAs). .5ppr. Thx

    • Scott says:
      (link)

Or should I use one of the other wr even if plays? Kind of sucks that he plays Thursday after just being traded. He is a big body and taylor likes to use his te near goal line and it red zone if that matters.

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Scott: I would want to start Doctson.

  7. Pink Doves says:
    (link)

I’m in a serious bind with byes and injuries this week.

I have Hunter Henry, bye week, and with Reed hurt and likely out need a TE. Is he droppable?

I’m VERY likely to lose this week, No Bell, Gordon, Henry, Hogan. Should I just punt this week (8-1 record…double week in 3) and keep Reed or drop him for someone like Vernon Davis??

    Thanks!

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Pink Doves: I would try your hardest to hold onto Henry. I would drop Hogan and try to pick up Davis, then try to pick Hogan back up in 3-4 weeks if you can.

      • Pink Doves says:
        (link)

        @Zach:

I agree, I meant is Reed droppable? I’m so fed up with him and always being hurt. I can’t have more than 2 TEs rostered is the biggest issue.

Hogan would be picked up immediately if dropped even with a minor shoulder injury.

        • Zach

          Zach says:
          (link)

@Pink Doves: Yeah then I guess you have no choice but to drop Reed. However Hogan’s injury isn’t minor. He’s expecting to miss 2-4 weeks. But I hear ya

  8. Show me your TD's says:
    (link)

    Greetings Zach!!

.5 PPR league on a scale of 1-10. 1 being don’t do it, 10 being absolutely do it now! Would you straight up deal my Melvin Gordon for Antonio brown? No brainer?
Or will it hurt my RB position?

RBs are Gordon, hunt, mcaffery, AP, Aaron jones, McKinnon, alf Morris

My WRs we start 3, can be 4 w/ flex. Keenan Allen, Baldwin, hogan, Parker, tyreek hill, Corey davis, fuller.

Or would you rather hang onto Gordon ROS? If I move Gordon for a RB instead of AB thoughts on McCoy? The brown owner approached me & said he only wants Gordon.

    – if that deal goes down would you trade either fuller or Keenan Allen for kamara or Lamar Miller? So basically which would you prefer
    side A : Gordon/fuller(or Keenan Allen)

Side B : AB/ kamara (or Lamar Miller)

    Thanks man!!

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Show me your TD’s: What’s up man? I would definitely give up Gordon to get Brown given your RB corps

  9. Allan says:
    (link)

Got a trade offer in our ppr 12 team dynasty league. I give Cohen and Ingram I get Peterson and McKinnon. I have Johnson and Cook on IR. My other backs are Jones and Riddick. Thoughts?

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Allan: I wouldn’t pull that trade unless you can get something better for Ingram

  10. James says:
    (link)

Well I guess this post answers my question as to whether or not to deal Mixon to get Ajayi.

Thanks for the preemptive answer! Yeah

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@James: Of course! Anything to help

  11. Mike says:
    (link)

Thanks Z man! You helped a ton lst week. PPR flex Witten, Benjamin or Abdullah

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Mike: Thank you Mike! I’m glad to help. I would roll with Abdullah

  12. Michael Villani says:
    (link)

    Hey Zach,
I play in a 12 team half PPR league. I have Brown, Hopkins, Cooper and Fuller as my primary wides. I was offered Diggs for Cooper should I pull the trigger?

  13. Steve says:
    (link)

Need to drop a player: Ju Ju, Brate (also have Engram) or D. Lewis? Thanks

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Steve: Brate our of the three

  14. Let Us Now Praise Famous Death Dwarves says:
    (link)

20 team redraft PPR. i have way better RB depth than WR. need some sort of WR3 upgrade. have:
    RB (start 2, 1 flex): gurley/collins/j.allen/forte/morris/drake
    WR (3) crabtree/hill/beasley/wright/golladay
    TE (1) ertz
have these offers see which you’d have higher. my team is barely 2nd in points, but due to luck and divisional standings i’m only in 6th (only 6 make playoffs as well)
    1. my collins for shepard
    2. my collins + wright for k.benjamin (but would have to start one of my crappy WR this week)
    3. my morris + wright for parker

    jaywrong prefers to keep morris.

    • Let Us Now Praise Famous Death Dwarves says:
      (link)

@Let Us Now Praise Famous Death Dwarves: jaywrong/maher prefer keeping morris, MB says hold collins. and the current (3) parker deal is actually my beasley + morris for parker + moncreif, but i’d rather lose one of golladay/wright than beasley, and don’t even know which of golladay/wright/moncreif i’d be dropping shortly for a TE backup (lost miller, it’d probably be sims)

  15. Brent

    The Fantasy Dick says:
    (link)

    12 tm standard:

We start: QB, RB, RB, WR/TE, WR/TE, Flex

RBs: McKinnon, Mack, Breida, Drake, Woodhead

WRs: Hogan, Jeffery, Fuller, Engram (TEs are WRs in this league), Garcon

Gonna drop Garcon, who should I pick up (put in waiver order):

David Johnson (I actually dropped him for Drake and I have a shot at the playoffs, but need wins), Damien Williams (to hedge my Dolphin bets), Rod Smith, Eddie Lacy, Cameron Brate, Jack Doyle, Greg Olsen, Deonte Thompson, Josh Gordon

    thanks!
