It is that time of year. Football is about a month and a half away from meaning something again and that means that our fantasy football drafts are just weeks away. I’ll be moving around these rankings from time to time, but I feel pretty good about these at this point in time. Here are a few notes that I feel to be applicable.

– Lesean McCoy is going to be a tough case to crack. If there is a suspension for the alleged crimes that he is accused of, it might not be by week one. The NFL drags it’s feet a lot of the time when things are not cut and dry. Lesean McCoy has not been formally charged with a crime at this time despite the damning allegations. I can’t begin to guess a time frame so I am going to avoid the situation altogether from a fantasy standpoint. I put him as a third round value until further notice.

– This is a personal preference thing, but I have Le’veon Bell at #4 overall. Todd Gurley, Le’veon Bell, David Johnson, and Ezekiel Elliott are all in the same tier for me. I put Bell at #4 at this point until there is more certainty on his availability for week one. When you are drafting someone this high, the prospect of the player playing 16 games is very important.

– I moved Ronald Jones down after initially being very hyped about him. I still think he can be an elite rookie back, but Peyton Barber will probably cut into his early workload.

-I like Pierre Garcon a lot and hope to have a lot of shares.

– I’m going to write about trying to get Larry Fitzgerald everywhere. My ranking of him properly reflects where I will be targeting him. You probably don’t need to go this high, but we will see.

-As far as I’ve seen, there is no plan to suspend Robby Anderson at this point and I was initially worried about that. If Robby Anderson is on the field, he will be dynamic and outperform his outside-of-top-100 ADP.

    Hey MB,

Thanks for the ranks! Slowly getting back into football so I hope I can ask your opinion on a team.

    I’m in a 16-team non-PPR keeper/dynasty league. Can keep 8 players if desired.

Going to keep these guys for sure: D Johnson, D Hopkins, M Evans, B Cooks

I’m leaning on keeping P Mahomes. I also have Matt Ryan.

Q1) Mahomes > Ryan for you this season and dynasty purposes? Ryan is steady (although he came crashing back to earth last season) but Mahomes is on the up.

Next, I could keep Mack in the 6th (pick #91). Your rank of #57 would suggest there’s value there. Indy taking 2 RBs in the NFL draft gives me pause, however.

Q2) I can wait to see how things shake out in training camp, but keep Mack?

    Finally….

Q3) In the 7th (#107) and 8th (#123), I’m probably not keeping anyone unless you have good feelings about D Booker or T Lockett there? My 7th rounder would be a flex (we start 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 Flex).

Or I could not keep anybody and go TE in the 7th (or 8th) if a good one is available, or best available RB/WR.

Thanks. I know these are hard questions because we’re not really sure who’s available but looking at value/draft position/dynasty purposes, what do you think?

    Thanks a lot!

@JakeTPE: hey buddy, thanks for reading. I have no problem keeping Mack, I’d try to get Hines as a handcuff, all indications say that they like him too. I love Mahomes this season, but he has a tough schedule to start so it might be a good idea to keep Ryan as well. Like you said, he’s steady. Overall, I think Mahomes will score more fantasy points.

I do like Tyler Lockett without Richardson and Graham there anymore but you can probably get him a little later.

      Hope this helps!

@MB: Thanks, MB! It helps a lot. Will look to grab Hines if I stick with Mack. A lot depends on Luck’s health and his ability to keep defenses on the back foot. Probably can’t keep both QBs given needs elsewhere, but I’ll try to get a veteran backup in case Mahomes falters. Hopefully a year in the system and a full camp will prepare him for the gig. Yeah, big fan of Lockett here, too. I’ve drafted him, let him go, and then got him back several times it feels like. Just wish he could stay on the darn field. Thanks, man. Getting more psyched for drafts and to get this thing rolling!

    Is this PPR or standard?

It is standard. My PPR autosyncs on fantasypros so you should be able to find it

@MB: i thought fantasy pros was just a consensus pick on guys? I can’t find individual picks on that site.

@Todd: they create consensus rankings based on all rankers in the system too. I’m going to add a separate table for PPR, needs to be done from a laptop so they might not post until later. Sorry if you were looking for PPR.

@MB: don’t need it till later in August lol, i like the guys rankings on here, trust them. Don’t trust other “pros” lol. Will gladly wait for you and Zach and others on here for ppr rankings

Thanks for the rankings! Got a keeper league question if you can help…

In a 12 team PPR, two keepers league I plan on keeping Mckinnon (Round 7) and Theilen (Round 10).

Just based on assuming other team’s keepers (first rounders like Leveon & DJ) and likely first round picks (Saquon almost certainly taken with 1st overall), I will have 2 out of the first 8 selections even though I won last year.

I have picks 7 (traded up from 12) and pick 13 and just wanted to get your take on how you’d go about rounding out your squad to pair with value keepers Mckinnon and Theilen.

My best available draft options for these picks will almost assuredly come from the below pool:

RBs: Devonta Freeman, Lesean McCoy, Joe Mixon, and Jordan Howard

WRs: Davante Adams, AJ Green, Mike Evans, Doug Baldwin

    TEs: Rob Gronkowski, Travis Kelce

Any advice is greatly appreciated and I can add any clarification if needed!!

    Thanks for checking them out!

I have Freeman ranked ahead of Mixon by a couple of spots but I think Mixon has the most upside. The offensive line should be much better in Cincinnati this season.

A.J. Green is likely the safest but I think Doug Baldwin (a couple of spots behind him could be in for a monster year. He’s very durable too. I wrote about Baldwin a couple weeks ago if you want more details. https://football.razzball.com/which-baldwin

    Hey MB,

    Thanks for the rankings!

Who would you keep here… 12 team, 2QB (not superflex) $200 budget. Last year was our first year of doing 2QBs and they seem to go for a ton.

    Garappolo – $1
    Mahomes – $1
    McKinnon – $1
    Ertz – $4

      @Bryce Krispie Treats:

Oh sorry… Pick 3 keepers out of the 4.

@Bryce Krispie Treats: Mahomes, McKinnon, and Ertz for me. Both Garappolo and Mahomes have brutal schedules but Mahomes has a better offense around him

12 team ppr keeper 200$ budget i have 132$ remaining

have a 1 round draft off last year values, i have the 10th pick. any disagreements with my top 12?

    1) Julio 47
    2) Freeman 7
    3) AJ Green 47
    4) Josh Gordon 1
    5) Mckinnon 1
    6) Jeffery 14
    7) Diggs 13
    8) Allen Robinson 20
    9) Mixon 15
    10) alex collins 1
    11) Edelman 2
    12) luck 5

    honorable mention:
    mccafrey 27
    marquise lee 1
    corey davis 5
    Fournette 46

id Personally rather have Fournette at 46 than Julio or A.J. at 47. 5-10 are sexy values. Assuming Julio and AJ will be gone, if Fournette is there take it, Mixon, Collins, ARob, and Diggs are all good options too.

      • Big league choo says:
        (link)

        @MB:
I really like fournette, but Barkley and other rookies will be available and I could get them for the same price or cheaper. Fournette will be available in auction most likely if I don’t take him at 10. We also don’t have a flex spot.

Hey MB got a dynasty league ppr question. Team as it stands is
    QB Brady Stafford
RB Johnson Cook Ingram Drake A. Jones Cohen
WR Julio Amari Baldwin Kupp Doctson
    TE Ertz Howard
Was wondering if I should start trying to deal Brady while he’s still valuable? Maybe in a package where I get back a younger QB. But I’m not sure what tier QB I should be targeting. Thanks.

@Allan: this would be the year to do it, you can target Trubisky or Mahomes
