We’re just short of halfway through the fantasy football season. We all kind’ve know where we stand in our league and what positions we need to improve. We can also tell where the roster has depth.

Depth is a beautiful thing in fantasy football and not something that you want to take for granted, especially not even halfway through the season. Far too often I see fantasy players trade depth away in a panic to patch up a different position to all of a sudden lose a player to injury the next week. Now all of a sudden a strength from a week ago has become a dire weakness.

I’m not advocating to be against trading, but take your time and explore all of your options. Know your worth kings and queens! A fair deal is a fair deal, but I’m against giving discounts because I feel like I can afford to.

That was a completely unplanned rant. Most are. Sometimes you just tap some keys until something semi-coherent comes out. I do not have needles to share with you, but what I do have are rankings for week 7. The Packers, Raiders, Steelers, and Seahawks are on vacation.

Yo MB! 3 questions for you if you don’t mind.

16 team H2H PPR dynasty. 6-0 and have scored most points in league by 85. Looking to cover byes and improve RB depth. Roster is: QB (start 1) – Deshaun, Ben, Chad Kelly; RB (start 2) – Conner, White; WR (start 2) – julio, tyreek; WR/RB/TE flex (start 2) – Alshon, Hyde; TE (start 1) – Gronk; BN – Leveon, josh adams, cja, jaylen samuels, baldwin, demaryius, geronimo, josh reynolds, braxton berrios, ian thomas, asj.

    1. I have some RBs i’m targeting. Can you rank them for me or put them into tiers. my main concern besides depth is hyde going from 15-20 touches down to 10 or so when hue finally gets his head out of his ass and gives duke/chubb more work

RBs i’m targeting – Yeldon, alex collins, gore (obv just depth for this year), breida, ekeler, bilal, duke, drake, crowell.

    2. my backup TE is ian anderson who didn’t do much even when olsen was out. so i have a small problem when gronk goes on his bye in a few weeks. not much on wire other than ed dickson, aj derby, nick o’leary, james o’shaughnessy. Would you drop josh reynolds or josh adams for any of those guys or wait until it gets closer to gronk’s bye?

    3. reynolds and adams – would you drop either for curtis samuel, kendrick bourne, richie james, or maurice harris

Not here, sorry man, but I play IDP and can give logical advice

    • jason batteiger says:
      (link)

@Blake: idp guru is very very good, also at least some of the time answers questions, but the real value is his very good work, and he does the work on snap counts, guys getting new value from injuries/demotions etc. just awesome, closest i’ve seen to the guy (kevin maybe the name) who used to be here and when he was here he was a top 2 FP ranker for his last 2 years. also fantasy pros rankings, however most of the guys who rank IDP’s they come out very late in week. Rudy also has his own here.

    MB, I need your help!

I don’t even know where to start. The league I’m in is a super customized points league. It’s put on by the guys that I’m in a fantasy baseball league with and I think they just like me there for a high probability win, haha. It’s cool, I tear them up in baseball, so whatever.

I’m going to lay the team out below and just let you tell me the guys who are definite holds. I might watch a game every 4 weeks and don’t really even know who most of these guys are. Specifically the defensive players. I won’t bog you down constantly with who to start and who not to, but if you could at least tell me who are “undroppable” guys I can work around the rest to steal a win hear and there.

We do get to keep 6 guys with no restrictions from the previous years roster.

    QB: Prescott
    QB: Flacco
    RB: D. Johnson
    RB: Ellitot
    WR: Landry
    WR: Jeffrey
    TE: Njoku
    FLEX: Tate
    FLEX: Coleman
    LB: Woodyard
    LB: Foster
    EDR: Ingram
    DL: T Flowers
    DL: M Brockers
    DB: T Jefferson
    DB: A Amos
    DP: Tre’ White
    DP: D Randall
    K: Gould
    P: Kern
    Bench: Wagner
    Bench: M Goodwin (WR)
    Bench: B Irvin (DE, EDR)
    Bench: Austin Hooper (TE)
    Bench
    IR: Devonte Freeman
    IR: Delanie Walker
    IR: Earl Thomas
    IR: Jimmy Garoppolo

        Darron Lee
        Denzel Ward
        Fred Warner
        Anthony Walker
        Jon Bostic

martin over one of m.davis/mostart in 14 team PPR? i have
    QB luck
RB (2) crowell, mixon, montgomery, davis, mostart
WR (3) jeffery, baldwin, AB, kearse, a.wilson, goodwin
TE (1) watson, vance (on bye)
    1 flex
    IR (2) burkhead, doyle

    2. different league, also PPR, i had dropped callaway for ratley, what about meredith here with ginn out? i already have shepard (but engram seems back), k.allen, jeffery, sanu, ratley. that luck i was begging for about 2 weeks ago for my RB’s has come in though, i nabbed barber when his value was just about to pump back up (had been just dropped), then freeman’s out all year (have coleman), now my chubb stash is looking damn good, in fact chubb probably plays the flex this week and shepard is the bench.

    3. same as 2, i have coleman, barkley, chubb, richard, royce, barber (start 2 1 flex). it’s looking like royce or one of the ratley spot or cobb is the drop for wentz’s bye week.
    richard or hamster here?

Rbs: Mixon, White, Ingram, Chubb, Kerryon, Buck Allen
    Wrs: Thielen, Landry, Goodwin
    TE: Gronk

I am pretty happy with my team but feel like I have a surplus at Rb (which is never a bad thing). Was debating packaging Landry and a Rb for a Top 5 WR. Would I be giving up too much if i did Ingram and Landry for a Michael thomas/Deandre Hopkins type?

Or i could stand pat with landry as munich WR2 and my rb depth? Thanks!

Would you do a dalton, Watkins, Kerryon for jameis, Richard, TY or Baldwin (my pick of these two) trade?
I’m starting luck but jameis schedule looks better overall.
Baldwin or ty becomes my bye week fill in or flex guy.

12 teamer PPR with return yards worth same as scrimmage. a guy who probably already had the worst RB’s in the league lost skittles, and i have richard. he came to me first due to that, but he’s also willing to move thielen (maybe, but expensive) or lockett (has more value than any other league here). right when i begged for RB luck i got it 3 times in a matter of less than 2 weeks on barber (dropped and not waivered by anybody), coleman (freeman out for way longer, he’s turning into football tulowitzki), and chubb today.
    QB wentz
RB (2) barkley, coleman, chubb, barber, royce, richard
WR (2) k.allen, shepard (but benched now with engram back), jeffery, sanu, ratley, cobb
    TE (1) RSJ
    1 IR doyle

trade possibles, tried k.allen + richard for thielen, he came back with
    1. theilen for my k.allen + coleman
also, might be able to do this:
    2. lockett for richard
obviously i’d not do both, it’d lower my RB depth too much, plus i simply couldn’t use all of: lockett/thielen/jeffery/sanu/cobb/ratley/shepard anyway

somebody is going to be dropped for wentz’s bye week here coming up (cobb/ratley spot probably)

half PPR (but rushing yards worth more than receiving, 10 rush per point, 15 receiving per point) which 2 out of these IF melgor doesn’t play: lat murray (cook out), ekeler, c.thompson. it would seem thompson is going to have TONS of targets. this is easy ekeler sits if melgor plays of course.
