Staff Commentary

Steve Paulo

  • SB pick: “::sips wine:: Why yes, I am a 49ers fan, why do you ask?”
  • Favorite stack: “How many stacks can you put together with FOUR players, all obtainable at ADP, with two of them Konami code hybrids? Both Lance and Samuel will rush more than the average players at their positions, and Kittle and Aiyuk will be first-tier at theirs.”

JB Barry

  • Top Fantasy QB: Mahomes is too easy of an answer. Kyler has the ability to push Mahomes for the title a la 2019 Lamar Jackson. Another year in the offense to mature, along with his pure ability gives him the highest ceiling of all “other” QBS in my opinion
  • Top Fantasy LB: Devin White is a man on a mission. He was all over the field last year and is motivated to show the world he’s the best LB in the league. Serious Derrick Brooks vibes from this kid
  • Fantasy Bust: Michael Thomas, aka slant boy, is already going to miss about half of the season and when he does return, it won’t be immediately at 100%. I think he struggles through the injury all season. Pair that with question marks at QB and a Charmin soft personality and I’m avoiding at all costs!

Donkey Teeth

  • Fantasy Sleeper: The Jaguars’ new regime spent a first round pick on running back Travis Etienne. I get the love for Etienne, he’s a mystery box and there could be anything inside, even James Robinson. Yes, there’s some concern about the incoming rookie, but let’s not forget Robinson produced first round fantasy numbers out of nowhere in his own rookie season. Once a player has shown that type of ability, it shouldn’t be written off so easily.

  • Fantasy Sleeper: Former second-round pick Michael Pittman didn’t have the breakout rookie campaign many had hoped for when you consider his elite college numbers combined with Old Man Philip Rivers YOLO slinging it downfield. But the Colts completely miscast Pittman in his first year getting him only 507 air yards in his 60 targets and 40 catches. His 213 completed air yards ranked 101st among all receivers in 2020, while his yards after catch was much better, ranked 32nd. This is a man who has AJ Brown-like qualities once he catches the ball, so I’m sure Frank Reich and Carson Wentz are figuring out ways to get Pittman the ball down the field in space.
