To all my “Dynasty Diehards,” we have an exciting draft season with these upcoming rookies. There is so much potential with this rookie class, you should be able to find an impactful player to improve the outlook of your roster. There’s something for everyone as every position could be drafted in the first round. You can strike gold in the second or third round depending on your roster construction. Let’s review four players to target in a Superflex 2QB, PPR format dynasty draft.

  • Player: Lad McConkey
  • Team: Los Angeles Chargers
  • Dynasty Rookie Rank: Overall 14 | WR7

Fantasy Impact: If you miss out on one of the top WRs and need WR in the second round, look no further than Ladd McConkey. Drafted by the Chargers, who traded Keenan Allen and let Mike Williams walk in free agency, McConkey should be the starting slot WR for Justin Herbert. The former Bulldog should absorb plenty of Allen’s 150 targets from a season ago. I would not be surprised if McConkey serves as Herbert’s safety valve in his first season due to the lack of quality pass-catching TEs on the Chargers’ roster with Greg Roman calling the offense.

  • Player: Trey Benson
  • Team: Arizona Cardinals
  • Dynasty Rookie Rank: Overall 16 | RB2

Fantasy Impact: James Connor is one season away from hitting the dreaded age of a 30-year-old RB while amassing over 1,200 touches over his seven-year career.  Trey Benson rushed for nearly 2,000 yards during his college career and showcased he has reliable hands out of the backfield. The former Seminole looks to be in line to replace Connor, who will hit free agency after the 2024-25 season and finished as the RB13 on a points-per-game basis in 2023. As I recall, this past free agency period was not friendly to RBs. Benson should emerge as the best RB in this class as part of the Cardinals’ roster which is comprised of Kyler Murray, Trey McBride, and rookie WR, Marvin Harrison Jr.

  • Player: Javon Baker
  • Team: New England Patriots
  • Dynasty Rookie Rank: Overall 26 | WR14

Fantasy Impact: I mentioned Javon Baker on a prior Razzball podcast as a deep sleeper in the NFL Draft. I like his landing spot to grow and develop alongside Drake Maye in New England. Baker has said other teams will pay for passing on him in the draft. He’s giving me Amon Ra St. Brown vibes. Guess what, I am here for it.  The former four-star Alabama recruit is an explosive young talent with great ball skills who averaged 21.9 yards a catch in 2023 at UCF. Baker can be the WR1 with the Patriots within a couple of seasons. I rank him over fellow Patriots’ WR rookie Ja’Lynn Polk, who was drafted 73 picks ahead of Baker.

  • Player: Audric Estime
  • Team: Denver Broncos
  • Dynasty Rookie Rank: Overall 37 | RB9

Fantasy Impact: Despite having three RBs with significant roles in 2024, Denver surprisingly drafted Audric Estime in the fifth round. The Notre Dame product is a power running back, who averaged 6.4 yards per carry last season. He could compete for early down work from incumbent starting RB Javonte Williams. Estime may force the Broncos’ brass to make tough decisions regarding the futures of Samaje Perine or Williams. I foresee a thunder-and-lightning RB duo of Estime and Jaleel McLaughlin in Mile High soon.
