There has been a little more football news finding the top of my algorithm lately.  My feed is welcoming to the chatter considering that other 162-game sport has started.  Don’t tell Grey that I am not overly geeked about the baseball season kicking off.  I think my main issue is two middle of the night/early morning games in Japan followed by another week of Spring Training camp reports.  Neither has set my sports heart aflutter.  What did catch my attention was the recent flurry of WR free agent signings.  If you are paying attention, that means you saw the unofficial legal tampering period followed by the official open window for free agent signing.     If you are like me, and my guys over at @RazzballNFL (Home – Razzball Fantasy Football), your heartrate started to ramp up with all of the strategic moves made by many NFL squads.

Today, we are going into the names that previously signed and the best available names floating around waiting on the right offer.  Remember to check in with the @Razzball NFL team of writers as we host our You Tube podcasts where we chat all things off-season fantasy football and maybe weave in some music and pop culture chatter.  Join Sky Guasco @SkyGuasco, The Lineup Builder @Derek_Favret, Jeff Kezar @Jefferson__21, Dave Crews @crewser128, and me, Matt Stiles @stiles08 on out various You Tube sows as we answer all your questions thus keeping you engaged for the 2025 season while looking back at what coulda, shoulda, woulda been in 2024.  Come for the analysis and stay for the laughs!

Signed – Off the Market

  • Player: Tee Higgins
  • Prior Team / New Team: Bengals / Bengals

I did not have Tee back to the Bengals on my off-season bingo card.  I thought that ship had sailed only to wake up to the news of both Higgins AND Chase signing massive contracts to stay in Cincy.  The goal will be to keep both Burrow and Higgins healthy while improving the defense through the re-signing of Trey Hendrickson and via the draft.  When healthy, Higgins put up WR1 numbers.  I fully expect the Bengals to be a pass first offense (think Stafford-led Rams) thrusting Higgins into the Top-12 WR talk by the end of the season.

  • Player: Chris Godwin
  • Prior Team / New Team: Buccaneers / Buccaneers

Godwin was having his best season when the injury bug found him during garbage time in Week 7 at which point his season was over.  There was a lot of chatter about where Godwin may land this off-season.  I was confident he would resign with the Bucs.  Seriously, who would not love playing with Baker Mayfield while your paycheck does not see state tax removed?  Looking back to 2024, Godwin was headed for top five WR number through seven weeks with a line of 62-50-576-5 while logging a league best zero drops on catchable passes.  I expect Godwin to get off to a slower start in 2025 but once he has confidence in his leg/ankle, he will light up the league again.

  • Player: Davante Adams
  • Prior Team / New Team: Jets / Rams

Exit one of the worst NFL environments (brutal press, drama, awful weather, coaching carousel, out of touch front office, aging/immobile/drama-filled QB) and insert an ideal NFL environment (no drama, play half of the games indoors, sunny outside, QB that just plays and wants to win, pass-first offense), and you have the makings of a perfect fit for Adams.  Somehow, Adams’ 2024, and all the drama that came with the Raiders/Jets, he put up 141-85-1,063-8.  Consider 141 targets to be a number he probably will not match in 2025 with Puka Nacua slotting in as option #1 for Matthew Stafford.  Also consider, Adams will not see the top CB from opposing defenses.  All things considered put Adams, a first-ballot HOFer, at the very top of the WR2 landscape with a good possibility of moving into the bottom WR1 conversation.

  • Player: Cooper Kupp
  • Prior Team / New Team: Rams / Seahawks

This signing is certainly interesting to say the least.  The Seahawks released Tyler Lockett, traded Geno Smith and DK Metcalf signaling a rebuild.  Alas, that rebuild was short-lived with the signings of Sam Darnold and Cooper Kupp.  Now what?  What will we see from this new-look Seattle offense?  Who will be the WR1, Kupp or JSN?  I claim the latter in you’re asking me.  With the additional signing of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, the Seahawks may have found their deep threat to take the top off the defense thus allowing JSN and Kupp to work the short, and intermediate routes.  I look for both Kupp and JSN to be successful while doubting Kupp returns to anything close to his MVP season.

Unsigned – Who is Left

Amari Cooper:  Prior Team / Potential Landing Spot: Bills / Texans

Stefon Diggs: Prior Team / Potential Landing Spot: Texans / Packers (I hated typing this)

Keenan Allen:  Prior Team / Potential Landing Spot: Bears / Bears

Diontae Johnson: Prior Team / Potential Landing Spot: Panthers, Ravens, Texans / I think he enters the 2025 season unsigned

Elijah Moore:  Prior Team / Potential Landing Spot: Browns / Bills

Let me know where you think the remaining WR free agents will land.  Curious to know your thoughts on future landing spots.  Also, follow me @stiles08 on Twitter/X and send questions comments at the bottom of this article.  Make sure you jump around the Razzball site for all your fantasy football needs.
