2024 Fantasy Football Dynasty Rookie Sleepers
- Player: Luke McCaffrey
- Team: Washington Commanders
- Position: WR
- Dynasty Rookie Rank: 29
I’ve mentioned McCaffrey earlier this offseason and will do it again. He’s slated to be starting three-wide sets and in the slot. Under Kliff Kingsbury, former Cardinals’ slot WR, Christian Kirk, averaged 96.7 targets with a 16.8% target share in three seasons with Kingsbury from 2019-22. Don’t forget only 35 WRs drew at least 100 targets in 2023. Kingsbury has a history of utilizing the slot and don’t be surprised once McCaffrey becomes Jayden Daniels’s safety valve.
- Player: Kimani Vidal
- Team: Los Angeles Chargers
- Position: RB
- Dynasty Rookie Rank: 32
The sixth-round selection out of Troy reminds me of a Maurice Jones-Drew-type RB. In four college seasons, Vidal had 781 carries, averaging an impressive 5.1 yards per carry with 34 career total TDs. He’s currently third on the depth chart but Gus Edwards is coming off carry lows of 4.1 yards per carry in 2024 and J.K. Dobbins has unfortunately spent more time on the injured list than on the football field. Vidal has a chance to take this backfield by mid-season, which could lead the NFL in rushing attempts with playing calling by OC Greg Roman and HC Jim Harbaugh.
- Player: Dylan Laube
- Team: Las Vegas Raiders
- Position: RB
- Dynasty Rookie Rank: 46
Laube is another RB picked in the sixth round to make the list. You may not believe this stat but Laube has more career college receiving yards with 1,791 than Xavier Legette, Ladd McConkey, Adonai Mitchell, and Keon Coleman. Thus far into minicamp he showed a knack for creating plays in the open field and is a smooth pass catcher. He’s got a chance to be the third-down back due to his pass-catching ability and has the potential to develop into more.
- Player: Ryan Flourney
- Team: Dallas Cowboys
- Position: WR
- Dynasty Rookie Rank: 50
An older rookie at 25, Flourney could immediately find a spot as the Cowboys’ WR3 due to his athleticism. He was turning heads at OTAs and minicamp with his ball-catching ability, which some compared to Dez Bryant. Let’s not get crazy with comparisons, but he joins a pass-friendly offense that was third in passing yards and ranked first with 36 passing TDs in 2023. Brandin Cooks’ contract expires this season, so we could see Flourney starting alongside CeeDee Lamb in 2025.
- Player: Jared Wiley
- Team: Kansas City Chiefs
- Position: TE
- Dynasty Rookie Rank: 59
This selection isn’t going to help you for this season. Wiley is a great stash pick in your draft to see how he learns the position alongside HOF Travis Kelce. At 6’6” and 249, he’ll provide a big target for Patrick Mahomes after catching 8 TDs in his senior year at TCU. Kelce has publicly mentioned, he (Wiley) has a lot of upside and I tend to agree with him. If he’s Kelce’s replacement, you will be kicking yourself for not selecting him.
