Well, folks, it is time I shake off the rust and get back at football banter. After losing the final 2025 Razzball Guillotine League, I was despondent. Alas, I live in a fantasy football reality that most of us lose more than we win when all leagues are factored in. With that, I dusted myself off over the non-football months to bring you my thoughts and analysis on the Wide Receiver position heading into 2026 fantasy football draft season. If you are like me, and my guys over at @RazzballNFL (Home – Razzball Fantasy Football), your heartrate started to ramp up with the NFL draft and recent trade and free agent signings.
Let’s talk about names that were drafted, have previously signed, have been traded, and those still available. Remember to check in with the @Razzball NFL team of writers as we host our You Tube podcasts where we chat all things off-season fantasy football and maybe weave in some music and pop culture chatter. Additionally, we are establishing Razzball invite only leagues for a second year. Stop by the pod and drop a question along with your interest in participating in one of our leagues. Join Sky Guasco @SkyGuasco, The Lineup Builder @Derek_Favret, Jeff Kezar @Jefferson__21, Dave Crews @crewser128, and me, Matt Stiles @stiles08 on out various You Tube shows as we answer all your questions thus keeping you engaged for the 2026 season while looking back at what coulda, shoulda, woulda been in 2025. Come for the analysis and stay for the laughs!
WR Drafted in 2026
This second will be short and sweet. I will only narrate to those WR I think can immediately step in to be fantasy relevant. This will not be a deep dive covering all rookie WRs.
- Player: Carnell Tate
- Team: Tennessee Titans
In my opinion, Tate was drafted a little too high but did fall into an ideal situation to ascend to the WR1 with second year QB Cam Ward needing a true #1 option. The Titans will be trailing early and often which bodes well for targets for the rookie from The Ohio State University. I believe FA signing Wan’Dale Robinson will fill the slot role with Elic Ayomanor running outside along with Tate. This is a solid, if unspectacular WR trio while being a significant improvement from the corps Ward lined up with in 2025. I see Tate with a ceiling of rookie Malik Nabers-lite.
- Player: Jordyn Tyson
- Team: New Orleans Saints
I had Tyson ranked slightly higher than Tate, but it is a coin flip, and I went with Cam Ward over Tyler Shough. As much as I like what I saw from Shough, I am not confident he is the answer for the Saints. Throw in target hog Chris Olave and I feel as if Tyson will struggle to light up the scorecard each week. Maybe he inherits some of the targets normally headed to Alvin Kamara, but that assumes Tyson plays in and around the line or in the slot with play calling with him being option #1.
- Player: Makai Lemon
- Team: Philadelphia Eagles
Nope. Not considering Lemon at what will end up being a much too high ADP. The Eagles are run first without a solid OC, so I am fading Lemon. Mix in his strange interviews and actions and I want nothing to do with the perceived headache. His QB is no longer elite and when he was, it was much more about his legs than his arm meaning you want to avoid this passing game at all costs.
The next three WR off the board went to NYJ (Omar Cooper Jr.) and Cleveland (Denzel Boston, KC Concepcion) which means I am passing on all three. The later WR selection I will be keeping an eye on throughout fantasy draft season is Elijah Surratt (Indiana) who landed in a spot where he can contribute immediately considering the Ravens have little to nothing after Zay Flowers.
Signed – Off the Market
- Player: Mike Evans
- Prior Team / New Team: Buccaneers / 49ers
First ballot HOFer with leg issues with a lot of mouths to feed in Santa Clara, CMC and Kittle to name two. I am fading Evans ever so slightly based on age, new offense, new address (East Coast to West Coast move), and new QB. I think someone else will draft him based on name, higher than he should probably go off the board.
- Player: Romeo Doubs
- Prior Team / New Team: Packers / Patriots
I loved this move for Doubs until the Pats traded for AJ Brown. Looking from the outside in, Packers fandom aside, I think Doubs can slide in nicely as a WR2 to AJB’s WR1 and have a solid first year with Drake Maye.
- Player: Alec Pierce
- Prior Team / New Team: Colts / Colts
Hello, decent WR, meet awful NFL team contract. Pierce has not established himself as a $114M WR but who I am to poke the Colts front office?
- Player: AJ Brown
- Prior Team / New Team: Eagles / Patriots
See Romeo Doubs comments above. I love AJB to the Pats and Drake Maye. I think this throws Brown up my overall WR rankings purely moving away from Jalen Hurts to Drake Maye. Brown should approach 95 receptions for 1,200 yards and double-digit TDs with the young QB under center for New England.
Unsigned – Who is Left
- Deebo Samuel: Is it time to consider Deebo as only a gadget guy? If so, then he may not sign anytime soon considering his asking price is WR2 money at minimum.
- Keenan Allen: At some point he will be too old, right? At some point, the hamstrings will give out for good, right?
- Tyreek Hill: So many teams could use yesteryear Cheetah but how many are willing to deal with current year headcase Tyreek? At this point, not even the WR-less Dolphins.
- Stefon Diggs: More bad press and the latest landed Diggs in court. Hard pass from all teams to date. I do expect him to land somewhere, possibly the aforementioned ‘Phins.
Let me know where you think the remaining WR free agents will land. Curious to know your thoughts on future landing spots.
