Does anyone play in a league where you can trade FAAB dollars? I don’t know if there’s a website set-up for that, but there must be. I could see there being strategy involved with a trading a 4th wide receiver for $10 or using that extra cash to sweeten a deal. Especially over a long season, and if it was a keeper league to boot trading those extra dollars toward the end of the season could really make a difference. Well, I’m sold, if you’re interested check back in about eight months and I’ll have a league ready to go. Now, on to the show.

So this is Free Agent Auction Bidding, and we started the season with one hundred dollars. Ten weeks in, does anyone have any money left? (I have less than $10 in all my leagues) But let’s say you do, let’s say you missed out on all the guys you wanted up until this week, maybe you’ve added and dropped a couple defenses, but that’s it. In that case, spend spend spend!

Thomas Rawls ($13) – He’s not exciting or new but he’s available and Lacy’s hurt. Rawls has a decent upcoming schedule going to Arizona, then home against Atlanta followed by a trip to San Francisco. A buddy just moved to the area around the new Niners stadium, and we were there on a Sunday, no game, and even then it was a logistical nightmare. I feel bad for anyone going there, and then I remember no one is.

Corey Clement ($5) – He was a FAAB add a couple weeks ago but now that they have Ajayi what was there for Clement to do, beside score 3 TDs this week against Denver. That’s not happening again although Clement is worth the add because he can pass block and that may get him on the field. Me, I’d rather have the next guy…

Devontae Booker ($5) – I don’t know how people who own CJ Anderson don’t have ulcers, because I don’t and even thinking about it makes me anxious. Anderson has only two double-digit point games this season and four games less than 6 points. Booker time is coming sooner than later, but if it’s a little later that’s cool, the Broncos have a good fantasy playoff schedule.

Damien Williams ($4) – In Miami it’s him or Drake. He’s less owned, so more available to take a spot on your bench.

Matt Forte ($4) – He’s still got something left in the tank; Bilal Powell is who we thought he was (not great) and the Jets play stinky Tampa Bay this week.

Rob Kelley ($4) – If he’s been dropped in your league add him to your bench. You never know if you might need him come Week 14 against the Chargers.

Blake Bortles ($4) – I’m using him as a Wentz fill-in against the Chargers at home, and in other leagues I’m saving him for a choice week 11 matchup at Cleveland.

Josh McCown ($4) – Facing the Buccaneers, could do worse.

Corey Davis ($4) – He was a stash add for the past few weeks and now he’s playing. Too bad the schedule really doesn’t start getting good for him and the Titans until week 12. I’d rather have him than the next three guys.

Robert Woods ($3) – He had a good game Sunday and did a solid for those with a lot of wideouts on byes but Rams have a lot of mouths to feed.

Terrance Williams ($3) – If Dez is out then he gets a bump but he might have a lingering injury all his own. Screams avoid to me.

Cole Beasley ($3) – If both Dez and Williams are out, but I don’t think we’ll know by add time. So wait and add him off waivers, aight?

Tyler Kroft ($3) – Good matchup versus the Titans this week.

Greg Olsen ($3) – He’s going to be back this season, possibly by Week 12, so if he’s out there add him up.

Danny Woodhead ($2) – Buck Allen owners should be wary and hope that Woodhead doesn’t ruin Allen’s prime matchup versus the Packers Week 11.

Josh Gordon ($2) – If you have the roster space and all that.

$2 Defenses: A lot of Defenses coming off byes, so you should have choices. My top two are Pittsburgh going to Indy (then home against Tennessee and Green Bay) and New England at Denver. Chicago against Green Bay if you must.

Lastly: How many FAAB dollars have been spent on Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris I wonder? They’ve been added heavily multiple weeks this season (and dropped a lot too); at least we know that Morris will get the first chance but McFadden is worth a stash. Truly this is the most bizarre situation I can recall during a fantasy season. Elliot might not even get suspended and if so his owners deserve a healthy back pat for taking the risk. If he is suspended though, it’s going to be for the playoffs most likely, and is there some comeuppance with that? Either way, week 11 is upon us and another Zeke decision hangs in the balance…

I need another rb that I can use down the road (sooner is better). Who is the add out of: clement/booker/prosise/washington (oak)/Washington (det)/barber/riddick/Conner. Clement played a lot / 3rd down guy b/c ajayi & Blount aren’t good in pass protection. Booker more involved (best #’s out of all the den rb over last couple of games, could he get more work?), Washington – backup to lynch , lots of mileage, Washington – abdullah fumbled twice, riddick – not being used like he was last 2 years, conner – bell never played a full season. Thx

      (link)

@Scott: I like booker the most, especially rest of season. I’m not loving the Oak or Detroit Washington’s. Riddick would be next, then clement, then Barber, then conner(looks like bell might survive the whole season)

How much FAAB on Corey Coleman?

@Normandy: nice catch! I’m going $6 on him, to beat the guy who thinks he’s only $5.

    Hey Phil
I lost both Watson AND Winston last week!!!! In the same League! Sad times!! I am offered Stafford and CJ Anderson for Keenan Allen. I do have a bit of WR depth with Lee and Jordy Nelson (I know…) Ginn and Sanu. What do you think? Thanks man!!

    • Phil B.

      Phil B. says:
      (link)

@Maverick: dang man, that’s some bad luck. I’d take that deal. While I don’t love Anderson, there are worse options and if you have room grab booker. Good luck, cause you need it dude, at least Winston might be back, but I’d rather have Stafford anyway.

Thoughts on DEF in a 16 team league:

I have crappy Denver and Cinci…offered Baltimore for Darkwa or could try and move Kelley for Chicago.

    My RB’s are Gurley, Elliot, Morris, R Smith, Darkwa, Kelley….start 2 + 1 flex

this is more of a rest of season question…currently in first

    thanks bro

    • Phil B.

      Phil B. says:
      (link)

@nightpandas: I like the Bears, especially week 16 vs Cleveland, and Kelley should get it done. I don’t love Baltimore, tho I’ve streamed them a fair amount this season, better than Chicago. Also see if Titans are available, they have a great schedule rest of season except week 16 vs Rams.

  5. Steve Anus says:
    (link)

    1. 12 team PPR. have riddick/darkwa/forte/howard/hunt. i’d guess with the upcoming woodheadyness i should hold and not drop anybody for j.allen?

    2. 20 team PPR. just traded morris + beasley for parker + moncreif. due to byes i’m now having to start moncreif with this:
    QB (1) staff/bortles
    RB (2) j.allen/collins/forte/drake’s coffee cake/forte
    WR (3) moncreif/parker/hill/crabtree/wright (CHI)
TE (1) ertz/burton (am attempting top waiver one of celek/higbee/sims over burton for this week)
    we also have IDP’s
    LB (2) david/lee/ogletree
    DT (1) buckner
    DE (1) dunlap
    S (1) amos/branch
    CB (2) hargreaves/crawley
    1 flex
so i could drop amos or branch or ogletree here or moncreif for another WR: t.mcbride CHI (had a BIG game last time out), golladay. which drop and which guy. branch/amos both ranked fairly high. i’d have to drop one guy next week for a DT backup with buchner off. i’m loath to drop a LB since we start 2 LB vs 1 S of course.

    • Phil B.

      Phil B. says:
      (link)

      @Steve Anus: 1. Darkwa if any, but I wouldn’t.

      2. 20 team league, that’s not a bad team. Anyway, I like Inman better than Mcbride, and Golladay less than both, that hamstring injury is taking way too long to recover from. Id try for Inman if he’s out there, dropping Amos, since he’s less known, and on a better team, which is weird to write. Let me know if u have time who u add.

      • Steve Anus says:
        (link)

@Phil B.: yeah, inman was added weeks ago. it’s the 2nd best team in the league, and that’s with the only better team getting lucky that he had all three NO RB’s when AP got traded. if that didn’t happen i’d still be better as he’s gained crap loads of points from that date forward. my record is worse than 2nd, but my points are far ahead of 3rd. i have no idea how i got drake with my continuously shitty waiver last week. also morris weeks before that (i did stash early, but i’d not say it was early for a 20 team league, there are teams with worse RB’s than morris’s upside by far). i’m seeing mcbride ranked higher (i index the FP guys by only top 30’s in each type of ranking, here PPR flex) than moncreif. golladay not at all ranked (at this early juncture there’s only like 5 top 30 guys rankings out there though).

        • Steve Anus says:
          (link)

@Steve Anus: i just checked, those same FP guys have inman 5 spots lower, and the snaps went like this last time CHI played, gentry, mcbride, wright. of course this stupid ass team did cut their most snaps d.thompson a bit back for no good reason.

          • Steve Anus says:
            (link)

@Steve Anus: of course inman had no snaps, and maybe he gets them over mcbride coming up.

            • Phil B.

              Phil B. says:
              (link)

@Steve Anus: I saw Inman didn’t play but they did just get him, so that makes sense. Thru wouldn’t have traded for him to sit him, and he’s arguably the most talented WR they have, so I like him RoS

              • Steve Anus says:
                (link)

@Phil B.: somebody else must’ve agreed in this league quite early, believe he was waivered week he was traded. golladay just got waivered as well (who i had to drop last week for some IDP who was on bye). now it’s only whether or not i start moncreif or mcbride this week with both hill/crabtree off.

  6. Alfred E. Naujocks says:

      @Alfred E. Naujocks: also have mckinnon/drake/howard/a.jones

      • Phil B.

        Phil B. says:
        (link)

@Alfred E. Naujocks: Mack fo sho, though I’m sure once u do they’ll announce Zeke is not going to be suspended at all, at least that’s my luck usually.

        • Phil B.

          Phil B. says:
          (link)

@Phil B.: actually, on second thought, I’d drop Morris, he won’t have any value going forward and Mack should be indy starter next year. Sorry to be wishy washy

  7. Fundle Bundle Life says:
    (link)

14 team dynasty standard, have these RB (start 2, 2 flexes, 1 being a super flex):
hyde/gurley/coleman/perine/breida. drop perine for any of: m.brown (LAR, gurley handcuffing), or kelley (perine’s big brother).

    • Phil B.

      Phil B. says:
      (link)

@Fundle Bundle Life: perine for Kelley is my move in that case

      • Fundle Bundle Life says:
        (link)

@Phil B.: somebody else higher waiver than me nabbed kelley, however, somehow my shitty waiver got BOTH of fitzmagic AND yates, webb was the QB who went to highest waiver (makes sense long term of course). unless i do really really well to end season i’ll get one of the highest QB’s next year almost for sure. i dropped perine for m.brown also to shore up LAR rushing game, along with SF’s, plus coleman, longer term we can only keep 14 per year (minimum drafting 3 players per year, non snake)
        QB goff/palmer (probably)
        RB gurley/hyde/coleman
        WR dez/green/parker/cooks/m.williams
        TE walker
and then up to 3 out of: dixon/woodhead/MIN D/breida (esp if hyde doesn’t sign at SF)/oj howard

  8. David says:
    (link)

would you add booker over bilal, riddick, woods, snead, henry/v. davis?

ppr keeper league, 10 team, 2QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, 2 FLEX, DST. rec yds = rush yds btw…

RB stock = zeke, mckinnon, bilal, riddick, mcfadden

Snead, henry are likely the only 2 on the list w/ keeper value for me.

    • Phil B.

      Phil B. says:
      (link)

@David: you have decent RB depth, so I’d add booker for v Davis first, then Powell, tho knowing I’m a Powell hater. Also, I love two QB leagues, way more fun.

      • David says:
        (link)

booker made it through waivers. I came to that conclusion and put in a claim. I only have $1 in faab left on the year, thinking whether to use that now. This is a real fun league. QB play has been bonkers this year if you look at the top 10 and they are real valuable in the league. This is my squad:

        QB1 Wilson
        QB2 Cam
        RB1 Zeke
        RB2 McKinnon
        WR1 Brown
        WR2 Julio
        WR3 Fitz
        TE Henry
        Flex1 Tate
        Flex2 Sanu
Bench: Tyrod, McFadden, Bilal, Snead, Woods, Riddick, Davis

  9. goodfold2 says:
    (link)

well a lot of the razz guys thought powell was really good (he was good in i think maybe 2 games or so last year). not saying i ever agreed, and i have watched forte look better this year. powell did look better than forte last year (albeit forte was hurt during those instances)

    • Phil B.

      Phil B. says:
      (link)

@goodfold2: I was not on the Powell train. He didn’t show anything when he had starting opportunities, and while the sun does shine on him occasionally, I don’t think he’s good. Forte is still better.

  10. Mantis Toboggan MD says:

12 team half PPR where i went from 2nd in points, tied for 1st in record (near tie in points) to literally doing the opposite game with winston (first week back from injury, ranked low, benched, he did great, next 2 weeks he’s ranked high, i play and he costs me probably around 40 points of guys i could’ve streamed). now 5-4 and in 5th in record, only barely 2nd in points (and NOT near 1st anymore).
    QB (1) winston/mccown
    RB (2) hunt/melgor/white/gore/mack/kelley
    WR (2) hill/hilton/cooks/shepard
    TE (1) rudolph
    1 flex
    IR olsen
    K nugent
DEF PIT (shame how much their fantasy output isn’t close to their real life D skills, maybe it soon will be right when i was able to waiver them)

    1. best off with kelley’s spot in having another QB (fitz grabbed by somebody else for this week but will likely re enter FA soon): brissett/bortles/cutler/garraplolololo
    or backup TE: cook/clay
    or WR depth: doctson/kupp/m.williams

    • Mantis Toboggan MD says:
      (link)

@Mantis Toboggan MD: actually i’m wrong about that, PIT is the 8th fantasy D on average, at least using this league’s scoring.

      • Mantis Toboggan MD says:
        (link)

@Mantis Toboggan MD: also mart bryant out there.

        • Phil B.

          Phil B. says:
          (link)

@Mantis Toboggan MD: as long as you get one of those byes, right?

I could see adding Bortles, but that’s the only move is make for Kelley, though I like Kelley. I’d drop White first. Then 3 headed Medusa QB situation, but better than just Winston and McCown.

Pitts D gotten by on rep for years now but in the right matchups still usable, but I’m over them being a top D just cause.

It doesn’t look to me like Bryant is going to reenter the circle of trust this season.

          • Mantis Toboggan MD says:
            (link)

@Phil B.: that’s what i thought too, but currently ranked 3rd per outsiders.

  11. Steve Stevenson says:
    (link)

Superflex, have Cam, Fitz and Bridgewater. Grab Keenum to lock up the Vikes QB slot and guarantee I have 2 starters next week during Cam’s bye? If so I’d have to drop Alex Collins (RB5, but Zeke’s one of the other 4) or Kroft (TE fill in for Ertz). I am playing an abandoned team this week so going without a TE may not be so bad.

    • Phil B.

      Phil B. says:
      (link)

@Steve Stevenson: does anyone not play a QB in superflex? Anyway, I’d dump Kroft, he’s only looking good this week, because u want that QB, even if it’s Keenum. Any better QB options for Cams bye? I assume not, but I’m hoping there’s a better option.

      • Steve Stevenson says:
        (link)

@Phil B.: Stanton, Kizer and Savage are the only other starting QB available. I’ve played a terrible QB (Kizer, then Beathard) in superflex all year and am in 1st. My next best options there are Mixon or Watkins.

  12. brapcrap1 says:

    Hi Phil,

I’m in need of a WR as i have enough depth at RB (Hunt, Ingram, Kamara, Murray and Abdullah). Are any of the following trade scenarios a good deal for me?:

    Hunt for Julio Jones
    or
    Hunt for Mike Evans
    or
    Hunt for Tyreek Hill

    Thanks as always!

    • brapcrap1 says:
      (link)

      @brapcrap1: .5 PPR league btw

      • Phil B.

        Phil B. says:
        (link)

@brapcrap1: I like being aggressive with trades. I like the Julio one, as he has a solid RoS schedule. Evans nah, just cause of Winston being hurt and a less than favorable RoS schedule. I might start with Kamara for hill, but I really like hill so I’d be fine with hunt for him. Let me know if you pull one off.

        • brapcrap1 says:
          (link)

@Phil B.: So my friend needs a receiver in return so I have to do a 2 for 2 trade now. Here are the following receivers I am willing to give up: Amari Cooper, Funchess, D Adams and Doctson. So he’s willing to give me Kelce Kareem paired with a WR. Issue is, which WR do I give up? Of course, I would say Doctson or Adams but he might not bite on that offer. Do you think Hunt and Cooper or Funchess for Hill and Kelce is a good deal for both parties?

I’ll def let you know if this deal works out :)

          Thanks!

  16. friar says:

Should I trade away Dak Prescott for Julio Jones? As context, I’m a fringe playoff team, so my priority is winning the next four weeks, rather than stockpiling talent for the playoffs.

    Roster (12-team 0.5 ppr, start QB/2RB/2WR/TE/flex)
    QB: Prescott, Newton*
RB: Freeman, Miller, Lewis, Collins, Woodhead, Morris
WR: Cooks, Nelson, Woods, C. Davis

*Cam has a bye in Week 11, so if I make the trade, I’d have to pickup a waiver wire QB for that week along the lines of Rivers or Keenum
