FTN has created a metric called adjusted line yards. This metric measures the push an offensive line gets vs. a defensive line from the line of scrimmage. Furthermore, this metric can help measure the impact a good or bad offensive line will have on the ground game in any given week. In this analysis, we have reviewed the adjusted line yards of the offensive line and defensive line to identify the top matchups of the week. Furthermore, for our analysis, we took it one step further and factored in who each offense and defense has faced so far to give us a new weighted adjusted line yards metric. The new weighted adjusted line yards metric is shown in the chart below for both offense and defense.
