The running backs that are drafted in the first four rounds are not always the running backs that are going to win you your league. Hell, if you’re going to win you’re league, it’s a good idea to draft a few options that could own in your flex spot. We’re looking purely at upside today. You can’t call these players handcuffs because they are already a part of the offense. When you’re already a part of the offense, you just have to start outperforming your counterpart to get more work. Well, most of the time. Let’s not pretend that all of these NFL teams are smart. A lot of teams employ a RBBC because of different skill sets or more run heavy offenses. A lot of these teams go with the hot hand approach and Philip Lindsay basically was a hot hand for the whole season. Another example would be Derrick Henry at the end of last season. We are looking for the next Philip Lindsay or the most useful complementary back to gamble on. I want to make it clear that these are gambles. But they are gambles that I am willing to push my own chips in for.

Ain’t no laws when you’re drinkin’ claws and reading Razzballs at your meemaws and pawpaws. Especially when you’re being annoyed by your in-laws slurping their empty drinks through straws. It also seems like laws are going out the window with all of these different fantasy football formats and scoring rules. Being the fantasy football addict that I am, I’ve played in a few of these leagues and I think that I can help you out if you’re a first-timer to a new format.

Once you get past the top 15, it is a mixed bag when it comes to running backs. There is no doubt that there is a lot of talent here and also a lot of opportunity. But, you and I both know that injuries, performance issues, and better performance by teammates will affect a handful of backs in this group. But, I have to do the best that I can to forecast these outcomes with the information that I have on hand.

We are entering the final week of my rankings extravaganza! Running back is my favorite position to speculate on and the position that I usually lean on in the first round of drafts. I always find myself wanting to build my fantasy teams around a running back that is going to be one of the league leaders in touches. Running back can get thin pretty early and drafts and the later round guys tend to be speculation picks. So here are the top guys to target.

The draft accuracy rankings for Fantasy Pros came out on Sunday morning and for my first year competing in the contest, I think that I did alright. I finished 57th out of 154 competitors and I would have done a lot better if it weren’t for those meddling running backs! Rex Burkhead, David Johnson, and Peyton Barber wrecked my running back chances to the tune of a finish of 126th at that position. On positive notes: I finished 8th in quarterback accuracy, 35th in wide receiver accuracy, and 12th in tight end accuracy. Also if you need kicker advice holler at your boy, I finished 2nd in kickers. I’m guessing that kickers don’t figure heavily into the algorithm. In year two, my goal is a top 10 finish.

Do you guys remember Gary Barnidge? I was just combing through the depths of Fantasy Pros tight end results from recent seasons and my heart skipped a beat when I saw that he finished as the third overall tight end in 2015. My writing time in the evening is very valuable. I need to use every minute to the best of my ability after working 10-hour days Monday-Friday at my full-time gig. But, I just spent about 20 minutes trying to find out what the hell happened to Gary Barnidge and where he went. It’s no wonder I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder as a child, right?

I am enjoying writing up rankings “the Grey way”. I think that it’s helpful to add a little blurb with the player and to put them in tiers. When I’m looking at fantasy baseball information in the early spring, this is the specific format that I like reading for my rankings. I assume that since you are here, you are already a Grey/Razzball fan, so I hope that you feel at home with this format.

It is finally time to start rolling out my positional rankings over the next couple of weeks. We really started to kick things up at the beginning of June but nobody is really ready for drafts in June. June is foreplay. June for fantasy football is catching up with your favorite writers and you sit there and read as they babble on about players that they thought about during the Spring. You’re probably thinking, “that’s great and all but what NUMBER is this guy on your rankings sheet?” Oh so you don’t care about Pittsburgh’s offense, you just want to know when to draft J2S2.

I gave out some names in June that I thought were some discount buys, but I never got around to talking about the players that were going a little too early for my tastes. Look, everyone has SOME value if their price is cheap enough. If Todd Gurley is sitting there in the 4th round because of concerns about his knee arthritis, somebody is getting a pretty damn good running back after already making three picks.
