Alright guys, let’s take a chance to catch our breath.

Wow, what a year so far it has been. From 2014, Daily Fantasy Football has grown so much with advertisements, big winnings, and everything in between. Even here, Razzball didn’t have that much to do with DFS, now we have special contests, cheat sheets, strategy articles (3 cheers!), and a lot of that has to do with you, the readers, and the general public.

However, it is important to take a chance to stop, collect ourselves, and take an opportunity to fix mistakes, change strategy, and figure new ways to cash in with different lineups. This article will touch on mistakes, new strategies to implement, and players that have impacted DFS greatly. Let’s get to it.

This week, like always featured many good players, many shockingly good players, some busts, Eddie Lacy, and Philip Rivers. Good job to those DFS players out there who picked players like Matthew Stafford, DeAndre Hopkins, Chris Ivory, etc. If you did, congratulations, and if you didn’t, that’s okay. I didn’t either. Let’s review. So for the first time ever, Razzball had a $5-Entry tournament, where ksmily06 took down the Top Prize, which was $60 and a ticket to the Week 7 Sunday Million tournament. Congrats to you sir/ma’am. Please, if you have the time, I’d like to learn from your ways, and how to be successful at Daily Fantasy Football. However, with that being said, I will finally enter this Week’s  Razzball’s Week 7 Fantasy Football Leagueso bring it Jay, Razzball Writers and Viewers! Zach (or zachrob) will try to take down the top prize. Let’s see what ya got!

Like always, this week entailed some shock, some disappointments, and some anger and confusion. I’d like to reach out to anyone who played Jamaal Charles on Sunday. I was one of them, and it sucks. However, there’s nothing you can do. Injuries happen, and you cannot prevent them. I get it. Fantasy sports is exciting stuff. I go bananas over season-long fantasy football, so I can understand how people go bananas over DFS. It’s serious fun. I even have played DFS Golf, MLB, NASCAR, MMA, and NHL, trying to win more money than I have ever made in my entire life. And you do the same. So where do I come in? I want people to listen to me, to play that player at that position, and to walk away 25,000 times richer than they already are. I really do. However, certain people don’t (and that’s okay), certain people do, and then someone like Sam Bradford throws three interceptions. What I don’t want people to do is to consider putting food on the table for their kids, or to deposit an extra $10 to try, and fail at winning $25K because they are certain that Owen Daniels will have a great game against the defense that allows the most fantasy points to TE’s. I want people to enjoy doing this, and most importantly, have fun. Fantasy Football should be an escape from any drama that is occurring in one’s life. Have fun. Enjoy the smack talk, the late nights, the waiver wire, messing with your lineup at 5:00 AM on Sunday before you turn on NFL GameDay morning. Enjoy it. Let’s review Week 4, shall we?

What a weird week. I’m not talking about how the Falcons Devonta Freeman was the only player last week to score more points than Chiefs Kicker Cairo Santos, it was just the fact that HOLY COW DEVONTA FREEMAN WAS THE ONLY PLAYER TO DO BETTER THAN CAIRO SANTOS. At this point, it’s just best to give up and start playing Daily Fantasy Hockey. That’s what I’m doing. Seriously though, Alec Martinez is such a value play. Yes, he’s behind Drew Doughty, but the Sharks’ offense isn’t all that, he’s on the second PP and Defensive Lines and plus, his ATOI was almost close to 20 minutes per game last year! C’etait incroyable! AnyhowI may have said to start Colin Kaepernick last week, but I am very confident in saying that both Carson Palmer and Alec Martinez will eventually make me very happy. I love you Carson Palmer and Alec Martinez. But DFS Hockey isn’t what Jay wants me to do. So let’s do what Jay wants me to do.

What a very interesting week. Big Ben could be out multiple weeks, Latavius Murray had a great game, Ryan Mathews had a great game when DeMarco was out, and Blount-Forced-Trauma was in full effect. And Buffalo took advantage of Miami without even buying a drink or driving her home. C’mon Rex Ryan. Be classy. Just like your coaches when you were representing the Green and White. Wisconsin beat Hawaii 28-0, if I am correct. Star running back Corey Clement is being selfish and needs surgery. He could be out 4-6 weeks, which got me thinking. Good for you, Razzball readers of these weekly articles. You guys don’t need injuries, because every week is like a new season. But you already knew that, because Fanduel never has commercials. This week’s (Starting This Week) Tip of the Cap goes to Oakland CB Charles “Chuck” Woodson. What a game-winning interception he had last Sunday to seal the victory against the Browns. His kids demanded, and he put the team on his back. Good for you Chuck. Oh, and before I forget. I don’t always write about how much I love Carson Palmer week to week. I figured you guys had enough. So just as an FYI, if you can put Carson Palmer in your lineup, put Carson Palmer in your lineup. I may not talk about how much I love Carson Palmer, but I do love Carson Palmer each and every week. I love you Carson Palmer.

Week 2 is in the books. After a week filled with injuries (don’t matter in DFS), dramatic finishes, and 108-yard kickoff return touchdowns, it is time to review last week. Both Johnny Manziel and Jameis Winston both got their first ever victory. And I told Shannon that she doesn’t understand how good of a partner I am, and yes, I am taking the dogs and the truck, and I will go to New York, for broadway, where I shall become a star. We all won last week. And hey, the Patriots won. Oh, and the Badgers manhandled Troy. But you already knew that…

I like writing about Daily Fantasy Football, which is how I got the position of writing about Daily Fantasy Football for Razzball. It all started with an email. I emailed some guy named Jason Long, or Longfellow, or Jason, or Jay, or Jay Long, Jay Wrong etc. about covering Fanduel for Razz. I got a very interesting response. Anything strike you as odd or interesting here? Anything at all? I before E, Jay. I before E! [Jay’s Note: I’m totally human sometimes! It sucks.]

Ladies and Gentleman. Boys and Girls. It is almost Week 1 of the regular season, and I just cannot wait. Can you smell that? That smell of pigskin, the smell of 1,000+ calorie dishes? I have never been as ready as I am today. As I sat on my couch late Saturday night, watching my Wisconsin Badgers get taken to school by Alabama, I realized something. “Hey”, thought I. “Don’t you have an post to write about dealing with Week 1 DFS for Razzball?” Well yes, Zach, yes I do. So here I am. Seriously, I thought about something very interesting while watching ‘Bama-Wisconsin. Here is Wisconsin’s HB Corey Clement’s stat line on Saturday night.

Player Carries Yards Average TD Long
Corey Clement 8 16 2.0 0 5

Clement could not run the ball to save his life, and a result, it ended mine. The Alabama Defense was just too good, and as a result, Wisconsin had to throw the ball to stay in the game. Meanwhile, on the other side of the field, here is the stat line for Alabama HB Derrick Henry.

Player Carries Yards Average TD Long
Derrick Henry 13 147 11.3 3 56

Depressing. The defense was so great, that all the Crimson Tide had to do was run the ball. They didn’t need to throw the ball a lot, because their defense was so excellent. They were always ahead. The same happens in the NFL. When a team is down by multiple scores, they don’t have time to run the ball. They throw, and they throw some more. And when a team is straight out dominant, they run the ball to kill clock. Let’s face it, there’s stuff to do after the game. This key stat is important when playing any type of fantasy, DFS or season-long. Eli Manning is a great fantasy quarterback, because their defense is so awful, they throw the ball to stay in the game, instead of giving it to Rashad Jennings, who last year, averaged 58 yards a game.

So this week, consider this: Picking a running back who won’t run the ball a ton, due to the team playing from behind, isn’t a smart move. Picking a RB who has a great defense (playing against a weak offense), is a very smart move. A move that could result in six-figure winnings…

Hi guys, my name is Zach, and I am going to be writing a post a week (except for this one), breaking down the best options per week for Daily Fantasy on Wednesdays for all of you out there that like to win that cash monies. But for now, let’s talk about why I’m here. I’m not very good at Daily Fantasy Baseball, so good thing that translates into being pretty good at Daily Fantasy Football. There’s apparently only room for one in my life… Regardless, I’ll be breaking down some strategy today, and how to approach Daily Fantasy Football. And the first topic we should cover, and most important thing regarding DFS NFL, is how it works…
