I hope everyone had a great week one. I didn’t. But let’s not dwell on me, because I’m here for you. This week I’m tinkering with the set-up as I seek the best way to go about this. I’m adding in ranks among the fantasy pros and our own honcho Jay’s ranks to give you some perspective. You might be asking yourself: What’s with all this three way talk? Well I needed an eye catcher, and I can’t afford to buy you all a beer, the shipping cost would kill me. What I am doing is a three way battle this week as I pit freshman hype vs. freshman handcuff vs. freshman who dat? Don’t worry, you’re not alone with all this three way talk, probably giving you a flashback of that one time you thought it might happen, only to realize the two girls wanted a ride and you were the safest person to get them home without getting all grabby in the car. Stupid insecure me…wait…I mean my friend with confidence issues named Mack. Yeah, Mack’s crazy insecure.

Terrance West – RB (AVG Rank 76, Jay’s Rank 74)

The newly anointed lead back of the Cleavland Browns gets first shot against New Orleans to fill in for injured Ben Tate. I have to be honest, I wasn’t overly impressed with West this past Sunday. I think he was the recipient of playing against a terrible run D (Pittsburgh stunk it up on Thursday too) and was out played by Isaiah Crowell last week. Crowell hits that hole hard, and looks like the tougher of the two to take down. Regardless of my bias toward Crowell I think West has another solid week with his match-up against the Saints, who gave up 4.9 YPC last week against the Falcons. For PPR players, I would like to point out that zero Browns running backs caught a pass out of the backfield last week.

Allen Hurns – WR (AVG Rank 99, Jay’s Rank 99)

This is a tough one for me, because I’m not sure what we have here in the undrafted rookie. Last week, he was Week 1’s WTF guy who exploded for a 110 yards and 2 TD’s. Before I move on, I would like to point out he was the top preseason receiver and a deep league sleeper after his eye catching August. Most of the week 1 damage was in the first quarter against the Eagles sleeping pass defense though. This week, he gets a traditionally suspect Washington Football Team pass D, and another opportunity with Cecil Shorts doubtful for week 2. The optimist in me says it ain’t his fault he got open, caught the passes and scored touchdowns. The Pessimist in me says it was all a fluke and he will be forgotten by week 4. Then the real me shows up after a long day, splits it down the middle, and sends those contrary kids to bed. Basically a 4 catch 70 yard day with a TD ain’t that crazy…Is it?

Sammy Watkins – WR (AVG rank 94, Jay’s rank 83)

A massive talent with a bad quarterback on a meh team makes me nuts. I get why the Bills drafted him and this really nice one handed catch in practice reinforces why they went high on this kid.  Unfortunately for evaluations, week 1 is tough when it comes to Watkins. He was second on his team with 4 targets, yikes, while his QB only attempted 22 passes. Ugh! Couple this with how well the Bills ran the ball and I don’t see why they would change the game plan this week against the Dolphins. The only silver lining I can find for Watkins and the Bills passing game is the Dolphins run D is much better than the Bears. Taking that into consideration, I don’t see the Dolphins blowing anyone out and you might see the Bills have to chuck it to make a comeback late in this game. Yes I think the Dolphins will be up in the 4th and the Bills having to “get back in it”. That’s too many ifs and buts and that makes me nuts.

Here’s What’s Happening!! West is Raj, stable, solid and smart for getting your points. Hurns is ReRun, a comedic folly who can also put on a good show with his sick dance moves. Watkins is Dwayne saying Hey Hey Hey…don’t forget about me, I’ll be relevant later.

My pick this week is Allen Hurns. He’s my ReRun and I think he finds the endzone against the Washington Football Team. After Browns coach Mike Pettine hinted that Crowell is a “power back” leads me to believe he’s going to vulture TD’s from West. I’m not risking that with 6 points on the line. So let’s dance for Hurns!
