Earlier this week, the Minnesota Vikings released Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook. The 27-year-old is coming off his fourth consecutive 1,100 yard rushing season, and the first time he played every game in a season. Cook’s age is considered the “forbidden age” for RBs and the year where they start to decline, but it’s clear the former Vikings’ RB still has a lot left in the tank. Rumored to be looking for around $10 million, Cook is definitely going to have some interested teams, and here are some of the best landing spots for him:

Miami Dolphins

Every time there’s an RB available, the Miami Dolphins are always mentioned as a landing spot. The reason is… well, they aren’t very strong at the position. It’s the one glaring weakness in their offense. With Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill, Cook would round out the playmakers in Miami’s offense and possibly give them the edge they need to take the next step. Rumors are that there’s mutual interest between the Dolphins and Cook, so this is a spot to watch out for.

Denver Broncos

What’s the deal with Javonte Williams? We don’t know, and that’s because the Broncos don’t know either. He’s coming off an ACL tear, and it’s unclear whether he’ll be back in Week 1, or if he’s going to get back to 100% at all next season. Either way, Cook would boost the talent on Denver’s offense. This is a team looking to get back on track (to say the least) and we’ve seen what Sean Payton could do with good RBs. It never hurts to get more talent on your team, so Denver would be a good landing spot for Cook.

Dallas Cowboys

With the release of Ezekiel Elliott, the top RB on the Cowboys roster is Tony Pollard. After Pollard, there’s a significant drop-off. I’m a huge Tony Pollard fan, but there’s always a need for depth. It’ll ease up the workload for Pollard if Dallas can sign Dalvin Cook, and it could help out the team in the long run.

New York Jets

Similar to the Broncos, the Jets have no idea what Breece Hall will look like coming off his ACL tear. There’s been optimism that Hall will be ready for Week One, but it’s unclear what he’ll look like. Cook is better than everyone besides Hall in the Jets’ RB room, so it would be a necessary one-year rental for New York. Cook would fit right in with the talent on the Jets’ offense, and it would give him another chance to compete. Even if Hall is 100% and ready to go, Cook should absolutely be on the Jets’ radar.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills are similar to the Dolphins in the fact that whenever an RB is available, they’re always brought up as a possible suitor. Cook could round out Buffalo’s offense at a major hole, and it would allow Dalvin Cook to play with his brother, James Cook. That might be an attractive idea for Dalvin, and he would fit right in there as well. The Bills should definitely be in on Dalvin Cook.
