Jimmy Graham, Thumb: After the notification went out that Graham broke his thumb in week 11 I think all of his owners threw their phones against the wall. Then a second notification went off saying Graham is going to try and play through it we all picked up our shattered phones confused. It’ll be interesting to see what type of metal claw the Packers medical staff rigs up to make Graham able to play. I hope it looks like Clay Matthews’s club hand with fake tape finger claws. My take: Won’t play. At least for this first week I don’t think he’ll be in the lineup until the Packers rebuild him. They have the technology.

The one injury I’m watching most closely this week is Joe Flacco’s. I know he’s only owned in around 20% of leagues, but it’s not him I’m concerned about — it’s Lamar Jackson. The 2016 Heisman winner actually had an even better 2017 than his 2016 and would’ve won the award back to back if it weren’t for the crazy breakout of Baker Mayfield. If you’re a Tom Brady owner looking for a good bye week replacement — keep an eye on the Ravens QB situation. Either way Flacco goes I think a Ravens QB is due for a big game.

I apologize for not being able to write an Ambulance Chasers last week — I was questionable going into Wednesday when I write this article, but it quickly turned to doubtful as the day went on. I tried going to my big boy job, but had to leave early Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I’m unfortunately and nerdily allergic to cough/cold medicines so every time I get sick it hits really hard and I just have to ride it out.

Four straight weeks of double-digit fantasy points has David Njoku trending upwards in the top TE pecking order. He was a limited participant on Wednesday which leads me to believe that he’ll be playing (and eating) this weekend. His opponent, the Steelers, have allowed double-digit points to TEs for 5 straight weeks and Njoku will make that 6 despite only catching 3 passes for 13 yards in week 1 against the Steelers. It’s a whole njew Njoku in week 8! My take: Will play, start him.

Matt Breida, RB, Shoulder: Breida played through this same injury last week and was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. My take: Will play, start him — he’s good to go. Raheem Mostert? I wouldn’t worry too much about that little guy. I think that was a game dependent outlier performance. Kyle Juszczyk though? I don’t trust anyone with that many consonants in a row. Just seems like witchcraft.

Some of the players on this list are overstaying their welcome. I’m looking at you Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, Will Fuller and DeAndre Hopkins. I wish they’d bring back the probable injury status. It would make my job a lot easier. Because 75% of the guys on this list are probable — just resting. Sterling […]
