People come up to me and they say, “MB, this is it, this is the biggest Tuesday of our lives so far.” I must say that I am confused. Every Tuesday from the start of the season to the fantasy football trade deadline is a big Tuesday. Stealin’ or Dealin’ comes out! They say, “No MB, the presidential election! This election could save or doom the next couple of decades in this country.” Excuse me, but is Kanye West giving you advice on how to manage your fantasy football team? Between making shoes, Gap clothes, making unlistenable music, and foreign policy I’m not so sure he can tell you how much trade value Kareem Hunt has once Nick Chubb returns from injury. They say, “MB, there is more to life than fantasy football, can’t you see that?” Of course I can! I’m not that dull. There is fantasy baseball too and Grey is already putting out rookie profiles. Anyways, here are some buys and a sell for week 9!

Seven weeks of NFL action are now in the past and the sample size makes it more difficult to find easy trade targets. But there is still value and volume to be found in both the trade market and on the waiver wire. Be sure to check out AlFFred AKA the BOOF’s waiver wire article that came out earlier today. In this week’s edition, every player’s situation is in some way affected by an injury on their offense.

Sometimes a player’s misfortune leads to a new opportunity in this dog eat dog world of fantasy football. But on the bright side, we will soon be getting a few of fantasy stars back in line ups. By week 9, we should have Christian McCaffrey, Nick Chubb back and although news hasn’t been great with Michael Thomas the last couple of weeks, he could be back in the fold that very same week. Keep those names in mind as targets as you are sending out trade offers this week to teams that are desperate for wins now to stay alive for the playoff hunt.

Two Monday night games sounds great in theory until I look up and it’s 9 o’clock at night and my stomach hurts from overeating take out (there’s no time to cook when you have 6 hours of football ahead of you) and I still have an article to write. Was the mediocre at best football worth it? Yes. Yes it was. Another question that I am currently asking myself is how a fantasy football analyst like myself can be so bad at prop bets? Nothing seemed like more of a lock to me than Patrick Mahomes getting 3 touchdowns or Stefon Diggs getting 80 receiving yards. But it was CEH night and Diggs was held or interfered with on a couple of opportunities to make big plays. It is what it is.

Last week was a little weird for the trade market with a Tuesday night football game. We are back to a normal schedule this week and have a Thursday night football game as well. Giants and Eagles! Woo Hoo! If you are unaware when your trade deadline is, that might be something that you want to look in to. Here are a few buys and a sell to look into as we are near the halfway point of the fantasy football season.

I usually write this while I watch Monday Night Football. But I will not be watching MNF. I will not watch the Saints until they put in Jameis Winston. It’s been sad watching the box score through the first half. I don’t understand the Taysom Hill plays, I don’t understand the dedication to Drew Brees. I guess New Orleans could be a destination for Dak Prescott when he’s healthy, eh? After not being able to reach a deal with Dallas in the offseason and suffering an unfortunate gruesome injury, I would be surprised if Dak signs in Dallas on anything team friendly. Jerry Jones has given Dak the runaround on a new contract the last two offseasons while Dak is just trying to get a fair deal in an ever changing market. If you look at the deals that Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson received, Dak wanting 40 million per year wasn’t so crazy after all. The fantasy market is changing at a much more rapid pace than the quarterback market, so let’s get to the buys and sells for week 6.

Positive Covid tests and more injury carnage. Fantasy football is starting to almost be as stressful as following current events. “I thought fantasy football was an escape!” I yelled at the clouds. Immediately, lightning struck a tree branch and took out my ACL. It is a short sample size, but the major injuries to running backs have all happened on even numbered weeks. We had Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffery get injured in week 2 and week 4 gave us injuries to Nick Chubb and Austin Ekeler. Oh, the horror of even numbered NFL schedule weeks. But there is good news! We are entering an odd numbered week. That means any running back taken in the first two rounds of fantasy drafts is safe from injury on Sunday. Wait. Are there any healthy running backs left? Meh, a few. Certainly not enough.

It is another Victory Tuesday as I awaken in my parents’ basement. I put on my pants (one leg at a time, like everybody else), and this morning I won’t be needing a shower because I smell of success. I’ve been getting rich off of the sweet, sweet capitalism of the fantasy football trade market. That’s right, BUY! SELL! BUY! SELL! Wall Street? How about Waller St.? You know what I mean? I will spend the next 13 hours on various forums and social media platforms telling analysts that they are wrong and the exact reasons why. And of course, ripping off my league mates.

I will tell tales of trading for Nick Chubb before week 1 during the great Kareem Hunt panic of summer 2020. After weathering the storm in week 1, returns have been nothing but PROFIT! I will brag about dumping my Leonard Fournette shares before Ronald Jones maintained his workload in the Tampa backfield in week 3. If I’ve proposed any bad trades, it has escaped my memory as I chuckle a satisfactory laugh to myself thinking about Cooper Kupp scoring his first touchdown in Buffalo after I bought shares following a disappointing first two weeks. My smile fades because it is time to get to work. Fantasy football success isn’t owned, it is rented, and the trade market is open every day depending on your league settings.

This was bound to happen. This is the least prepared for an NFL season that players have ever been. Limited contact practices, no preseason games. Sadly, this is probably just the beginning of a season that will be filled with injuries. And fines for coaches not wearing their masks! Drama, drama, drama.

Injury carnage can also create panic trades, even this early in the season. You can imagine how panicked Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, and Courtland Sutton investors are right now. Even if they are able to get their guys on the waiver wire, you better believe that they will be willing to have some conversations about acquiring some carries and volume in the passing game. Let’s get to the buys and sells of the week.

Ladies and gentlemen, this isn’t just a trade column. This week mostly won’t be. In the spirit of week 1 overreactions, I want to provide a buy and sell of narratives and performances this week. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Josh Jacobs being on pace for 48 regular season touchdowns.

Too often, people get caught up in overreacting to week 1 boxscores without seeing the whole picture, but sometimes the reactions end up being valid. August didn’t give us a preseason to work with so the week 1 sample size is what we have to work with. There were things that every analyst was right and wrong about coming out of week 1, including me. But whether you are heading into week 2 1-0 or 0-1, there is still a ton of football to be played.

Welcome to week 1! The coffee and takes are hot here at Razzball headquarters. Yes, Grey let’s us have coffee in his basement, but only when it’s the regular season. We need caffeine for this hamster wheel and he knows it. But AHHHH, it’s great to have real football back! You know, real football to add up scores for our fake football teams.

I’ll be writing a buy/sell this season. It may be weekly, it may be bi-weekly. I’ll leave it up to a basis of necessity. I’m also going to be writing the Sunday Primer, putting out weekly rankings, and writing the start/sit column this year.

Before your season starts, you might be interested in a trade to sure up your roster. This is the sharpest week to get a lot of value. Not everyone in your league may be privy to the upside of the players that they drafted. Your league mates might also be thirsty for early carries while you are playing the long game with your bench spots. Vacation is over! The markets are open! TRADE TRADE TRADE!

Well, we have come to the end of this column for the 2019 season. All good things must end. And hopefully you feel this one is good enough to make a return for the 2020 season. Of course, there have been some hits and misses, everyone has them. It is just important to own both of them. Don’t prop yourself up over one big hit. And also, don’t tear yourself down over a big miss. This is the key to staying sane in a world of fantasy where so many want to come at you for one perceived slight or another.

We are coming down the end of this article for the season. Next week will be it. But before it ends, let’s look at some players who could help or hurt you come playoff time for fantasy.

At this point of the season, there are few real chances to sell high or buy low. But there are still players to look at for trades. Whether it be someone to acquire, or someone you have been holding who needs to go. We will now take a look at some of those players here.

As trade season is approaching it’s end in fantasy leagues, so too is this post in it’s current iteration. For the next two weeks, I am going to focus on players to buy in preparation for the playoffs. Now is the time to get your rosters set. Looking at who you will want to have moving forward is a big key to success in the playoffs. Let’s take a look at a few of those players who could help you reach the final goal. The goal of winning that cash or bragging rights.
