Somewhere there’s an engineer searching for a power strip and typing “Chargers” into Google and getting this post at the top of their results page. Thanks SEO power! And sorry dear engineer, you didn’t want that surge protector anyway. You wanted to learn about the Bolts from Los Angeles! When the Los Angeles Chargers of San Diego host a game, they bring the power from the sky: the game was slightly delayed thanks to a massive storm passing through that even Xennials living in their parents’ basement could see. The refs were worried that Darren Waller — being the tallest thing in the stadium — would be struck down by lightning like no linebacker could do. Let’s catch you up on the Monday Night Football stats for your fantasy team!
Jared Cook: TOP 5 TIGHT END! How many top five tight ends can there be? Is Kyle Pitts still a top 5 at this position? Fantasy pundits have massive recency bias for their blurb stomps and they see any TD by one of their favorite players as validation of their process. You know who’s on pace for 20 TDs by that logic? Jody Fortson of the Kansas City Chiefs (who also has caught 100% of the passes thrown his way). Jared Cook pulled down a TD on Monday Night, which is great for those contrarian DFS lineups. For your regular season fantasy lineups? Meh. Here’s what Nic Romero had to say in last week’s target report, and I’m inclined to agree:
Austin Ekeler: We all love Ek’s abs for sure, but what do we think about his first-round draft value? BRB, let me check out Ekeler’s page that has been lovingly crafted by Rudy Gamble:
Are 1’s bad or good? Can ya tell me? Over 100 all-purpose yards on the game with a handful of receptions and a TD, which is all the usage you could ever want out of your RB1. Ekeler’s big into games — competitive video games for sure — and he’s even started a video fantasy football chat with Yahoo. Hey Donkey Teeth, who did you get to do a podcast with me? Vontaze Burfict, you say? OK, I think I’ll stick to writing recaps. ENYWHEY. Enjoy Titan AE:

Larry Rountree III: Wasn’t very efficient, but the rookie RB saw 10 rushes despite Ekeler having himself a day on the field. There’s a DFS FLEX option for next week’s Showdown matchups. Still completely unusable in standard fantasy formats, but we’re seeing a new leader for the role as Ekeler’s understudy.
Hunter Renfrow: As a Blair, I was often the prey of boys in school named “Hunter” or “Gunnar” or “Shatter.” I felt really bad for Shatter Jones, in retrospect. He had a lot of dad issues. But Hunter Renfroe has been the daddy for so many secondaries this year. While fantasy fans looked at Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards (who was completely missing from the game until a short pass with 4 minutes left in the game), Renfrow has quietly put up about 6 catches per game this year with yards averaging around 60 per game. Over the course of a season, that’s a 1,000+ yard season with over 100 targets, which is WR1 territory. Is he still on the bench in your league? If so, I’ll take the role of Shatter Jones and give you a swirly until you pick up Hunter.
Josh Jacobs and the Raiders Running Game: Jacobs came back from turf toe and put up all of the Raiders’ rushing attempts with Kenyan Drake and Peyton Barber getting zero work. I’ve tried to tell you that running back performance is often stochastic. What’s that mean? you shout out into the internets. It means that I told you not to trust Peyton Barber. Now we’ll see if I’m right about Cordarrelle Patterson *begins shining monocle*. Hey, let’s look at Derek Carr completely ignoring Kenyan Drake and preferring to throw an interception rather than keep the drive to stay in the game going:
