At least that’s what our man Adam Schefter is tweeting.  Tweeting sounds like an optimistic word, but really, that news isn’t. Dallas Clark is going to get a second opinion, but we really don’t know what the first opinion is yet, but it doesn’t sound good.  He was already going to be on a bye, so think long term with your bye week replacement.  Tight ends are dropping like flies all up in here.  Thankfully there are viable options out there in Owen Daniels, Heath Miller, Brandon Pettigrew, Ben Watson, Tony Moeaki, Todd Heap, Fred Davis, and so on and on.  Unless you’re opponents have Antonio Gates there aren’t many TEs out there who are going to automatically be superior to whoever you grab.

This news effects the whole Colt’s offense of course.  Manning will always spread the ball out and take the path of least resistance, but without Clark he will have to force the ball to Garcon and Wayne a little more and Collie even more since he will be the clear cut slot guy. I picked up Brody Eldridge in my deep, deep Dynasty Leagues, but Jacob Tamme will also be in the mix at TE.

EDIT: Joseph Addai’s shoulder injury could be worse than first expected.  It could be “several weeks” until his shoulder is better according to Jason LaConfora.  Donald Brown is a must pick up now.

EDIT: Rotoworld’s Evan Silva received an email from a reader this morning that stated that Dallas Clark could be out for a long time and Joseph Addai could miss multiple weeks.  So far the emailer is 2 for 2, but he had one other tid-bit that said Austin Collie was also hurt and could miss some time.  This is still unconfirmed, but with Collie’s upside after Clark’s injury I could see trying to trade for Collie.  I would hold off until further word.

While I’m here, let’s take a look at what else is going on in the NFL, but not until you join our Weekly Contest and our Fan Duel leagues Razzball League 1, Razzball League 2, and Razzball League 3, check out our top 5 ranking at Fantasy Pros, and read my weekly post at The N.Y. Times. That’s a lot for you to do! Ok, now the news —

Steve Smith (CAR): He practiced fully, and even though he is ahead of schedule, he is worth getting into your lineup as long as he doesn’t have a setback this week.

Vince Young: All the news on his knee has been good so far.  This is good news for Kenny Britt as well.  He should be able to go this week.

Matthew Stafford: He threw some huge passes in practice to show how far his shoulder has come along, so with the bye there is little doubt he will be back in week 9.

Antonio Gates: He didn’t practice today, but they are hoping he will tomorrow.  If he does he will be on track to play in a nice matchup.

Danario Alexander: He was limited in practice, but is still on track to play.  With all of those knee surgeries he will probably be sore after every game.

Darren McFadden: He practiced, but didn’t go full speed.  Hopefully we’ll see him go full tilt on Thursday so we can safely throw him in the mix.

Chris Cooley: Shanahan seems to think he will practice on Thursday, but he still needs to pass some concussion tests tomorrow.  We’ll see.

Pierre Thomas: He didn’t practice again so get your Chris Ivory trigger finger itchy.

Todd Bouman: Garrard and Edwards didn’t practice and Bouman is the front runner to start in Kansas City.  If the KC defense is floating in the free agency pool, throw them some rope and drag them to your team.

Colt McCoy: He’ll get the start and if you are in one of those crazy deep 2 QB leagues he’s worth grabbing.
