Welcome back for another week of cashing in here at Razzball. I am here with your weekly DFS-focused article laying out my favorite options to target at each position for the Sunday DFS main slate. This DFS Flash article goes position by position, giving you my favorite pay-up option and my favorite pay-down or dart-throw option at each position to help you build out a winning DFS lineup.

I use DraftKings pricing as a point of reference to seek out some values, and the goal is to help you “double up” in a 50/50 cash game with solid plays. Of course, you can use the dart throws to try to win the GPP tournaments, but at the end of the article, I give you my “double up” lineup using players discussed in this article. Let’s get right into it, let’s build this lineup and let’s make some money.

QB:

Pay up – Justin Herbert – $7,200– While it would be easy to say Patrick Mahomes here, I didn’t want to just take the low-hanging fruit with the highest-priced QB on the board. Mahomes is a good play, but so is Justin Herbert at over $1,000 less. Herbert is coming off of back-to-back 20+ point fantasy performances and is extremely happy to have his receivers getting healthier. The matchup against Las Vegas is a great one, with them ranking 30th in the league against opposing quarterbacks while giving up over 250 passing yards per game. Herbert will account for multiple touchdowns in this matchup and will make it 3 weeks in a row over 20 points.

Pay Down – Trevor Lawrence – $5,900 – Trevor has been a fixture in this article as a pay-down option. He is still priced under 6k, and that is still a solid value with his matchup this week. Trevor will be a popular pick at the position, but I’d be remiss not to discuss his value. He is facing a Detroit team who has one of the worst secondaries in football, ranking dead last against opposing QBs. Trevor has also been slinging it. He has over 30 passing attempts in each of his last 5 games and has had 37 or more in 3 of those 5 games. In addition, if you look at his last 3 games, Trevor has thrown 6 touchdowns with no interceptions.  He is heating up at the perfect time for this great matchup.

RB:

Pay Up –Nick Chubb – $8,000– Chubb had a bounce-back game last week with a 23.2-point performance on 26 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown on the ground. After two down games, he got back on track against a good Tampa Bay defense. If he could do that against Tampa, just imagine what he can do this week against a Houston run defense that ranks dead last. Houston gives up over 168 rushing yards per game, and I truly believe that this could be a week that Chubb goes over 150 and can find the end zone more than once.  With the game script expected to be in his favor, and a quarterback making his first start in nearly 2 years, there should be a ton of volume for Chubb to take advantage of the matchup. I’m all in on Chubb this week.

Pay Down – Dameon Pierce – $5,900 – On the other side of the same game, Pierce offers a significant value coming in under 6k in salary. We talked about how Chubb gets to face a run defense that ranks dead last, and Pierce gets to face a run defense that ranks 30th against opposing running backs. Cleveland gives up 131.5 rushing yards per game, and Pierce can also contribute as a pass catcher out of the backfield as well. Many people will be off Pierce after 2 letdown games, but I believe he bounces back this week in a good matchup to return value. At this salary, we need 17.7 to give us our 3x return on investment, and the Cleveland defense gives up an average of nearly 30 fantasy points per game on DraftKings.

WR:

Pay Up – Davante Adams – $8,700 – If you are playing a Justin Herbert stack, you will want to run it back with a Raider, and who better than Adams? This is a guy who gets a massive target volume and has 33 catches and 55 targets over his last 4 games. He has 5 touchdowns over that span and had 3 straight 30+ point fantasy performances before last week. While the Chargers don’t look like a good matchup on paper, the rank against wide receivers is more indicative of teams running against them instead of passing on them. Adams has an advantage over the Chargers’ secondary and will continue to see the volume we want when paying up at the position

*Bonus Mid-Tier – Keenan Allen – $6,500 – I have to throw this in as a bonus since Keenan Allen doesn’t really qualify as a pay-up or a pay-down option, but he needs to be in your lineup. Finally healthy again, Allen has resumed his role as the go-to target for Justin Herbert out of the slot. This week, he will get to match up with some combination of Tyler Hall, Anthony Averett and whatever other backup cornerback Vegas throws out there. The veteran Allen is too good not to take advantage of these guys, and Herbert should be looking his way early and often.

Pay Down – Garrett Wilson – $5,300 – Coming off a big game in his first with Mike White under center, Wilson will look to build on that rapport in a matchup against Minnesota. Minnesota ranks 26th in the league against opposing wide receivers, and White and the Jets will likely need to be passing to keep up with Minnesota in this game. Add to that the fact that the Jets running backs are banged up and were led by a man named Zonovan last week, and it makes me like Wilson even more. The volume should be there, the matchup is there, and the talent is there. That is a winning combination.

TE:

Pay Up – Travis Kelce – $7,900– He is expensive and is easily the highest-priced option on the slate for a reason. He is a cheat code at the position, and this game has shootout potential written all over it. I likely won’t be able to afford him in my lineup and will look to pivot to George Kittle at the “higher” range if I am not going to pay all the way down, but if you can afford Kelce, then go for it.

Pay Down – Cole Kmet – $3,800 – This one is hard to recommend, but I have reasons why I am. First of all, despite a bad week last week with a backup quarterback, Kmet still had 6 targets and played every single snap. He is also not being asked to block and is out there running routes, which is exactly what we want out of our tight ends in fantasy. The Bears’ top receiver is also done for the year, so Kmet has even less competition for targets. At this price point, you’re not going to feel great about anybody, but with the situations I mentioned in Kmet’s favor, he’s worth a paydown shot for me.

Defense:

Pay Up – Ravens – $4,000 – Play a top-tier defense at home against the putrid Broncos offense. Thanks, Captain Obvious!

Pay Down – Jets – $2,600– The Vikings are playing well as a team, but the Jets do match up pretty well. It will be fun to watch Sauce Gardner match up with Justin Jefferson, and the Jets front will put pressure on Kirk Cousins. They have 34 sacks on the season and 19 in their last 4 games while scoring at least 8 fantasy points in each of those games.

JB’s Example “Double Up” Lineup:

QB – Trevor Lawrence

RB – Nick Chubb

RB – Dameon Pierce

WR- Davante Adams

WR- Keenan Allen

WR- Garrett Wilson

TE – Cole Kmet

Flex – Trent Sherfield

DST – Jets
