There are two weeks in the books and now it’s onto week 3. If you take it at face value, this slate is pretty weak compared to the first two weeks from an entertainment standpoint. But, never judge a book by it’s cover and we’re here for fantasy stats anyways. I am looking forward to the Chiefs and the 49ers in the early slate and the battle for Los Angeles in the afternoon. Let’s get to the weather and injuries.

Weather

Denver Broncos @ Baltimore Ravens

There is a good chance of rain around game time. Neither of these quarterbacks were probably going to be in your starting line up in normal leagues but the running game may be something to look at if you were on the edge of sitting Collins, Lindsay, or Freeman

Green Bay Packers @ Washington Redskins

There is a good chance of rain at game time so keep an eye on this one. You aren’t benching Aaron Rodgers, Jimmy Graham or Davante Adams because of rain. But, if the weather is bad, maybe find a better option than Alex Smith if you’re worried.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Philadelphia Eagles

There is a big chance of rain here during the game as well. I’m sure this is not how Carson Wentz wanted to start his season. I’m already lower on him than the consensus but I think things should still be good for Zach Ertz. I’d also reconsider starting Andrew Luck, if you even were in this tough matchup.

Reid, Zach, and myself will be taking your questions in the comment section!

  1. Donaldson Betts says:
    (link)

Do you think k. hunt will turn it back on?????

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

@Donaldson Betts: I think he’ll be alright. I think that this is a passing team so he won’t live up to his ADP

  2. Pacochu says:
    (link)

I am tossing between Latavius Murray (L-Mur..new nickname, whoo!) and Brandin Cooks for my flex spot. This is a Point per First Down league with not points given for receptions. Murray has a cake match-up while Cooks has been solid so far this year.

    Any thoughts?

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

@Pacochu: yeah I’m starting Murray everywhere, he should see some 3rd and short usage as well being that he IS the back this week.

    • Reid

      Reid says:
      (link)

@Pacochu: As a Bills fan, let me assure you that Murray is ABSOLUTELY the play today.

  3. Paul Zone says:
    (link)

PPR scoring, who would you play at flex:

Garcon, Brieda, Peterson or Jamaal Williams

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

@Paul Zone: This is a really tough bunch. I want to say Garcon because today should be a shoot out with the Chiefs. Id feel awful if Breida found the end zone and Garcon didn’t. I think it’s a Garcon day

      • Paul Zone says:
        (link)

@MB: Yeah, tough call. I have Brieda in at moment. May reconsider there.

I have Stafford over Wilson right now. You agree?

    • Reid

      Reid says:
      (link)

@Paul Zone: I’m going Brieda here because I know he is getting 20 touches this game. I can’t guarantee Garcon gets there. And Jimmy GQ/FG is throwing a lot underneath.

  4. Jake says:
    (link)

Would you start Corey Grant in my flex over Godwin if Fournette is out ? I feel like Grant is going to have a big week with guaranteed work .

    Thanks

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

It sounds like Yeldon will play but if Yeldon is banged up, Grant could see an uptick today

      • MB

        MB says:
        (link)

I’d play Grant only because Godwin could be held out because of his toe

  5. BR808 says:
    (link)

    Nice write up!
I started off the season scoring a ton of points but am 0-2. Last night I traded away A-Rog / T.Coleman for Fournette / Wentz. I see you have Fournette as unlikely?? I guess I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to go Barkley / Fournette 1-2 punch especially with Rodgers gimping around. I also have Gio and Lindsay to plug in if LF can’t go today. Thoughts??

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

@BR808: yeah it sounds like they are being cautious with Fournette, I’d slot in Gio for the day.

  6. Ryan says:
    (link)

    Little bit of a dilemma.
I can start 2 of either Marquise Goodwin, Demaryius Thomas, Josh Gordon, or Marvin Jones. If Goodwin is active would it be smart to just play it safe and start Goodwin and Thomas?

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

Yeah should be a lot of passing in KC today for SF so I think that is a good play

  7. Corey says:

Hey MB better start today, PPR league: Murray or J. Howard? Thanks

  9. Hanging with Hernandez says:

Better start today in PPR league: L. Murray or J. Howard?

    • Reid

      Reid says:
      (link)

      @Hanging with Hernandez: Murray.

Bills can’t stop opposing RB’s and there’s no Cook to siphon carries away (Where Jordan Howard has to worry about Tarik Cohen)

  14. Pat says:
    (link)

Start Bortles vs TEN with Fournette out over Rivers vs. Rams?

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

@Pat: Rudy REALLY likes Bortles this week, I kindve kind him too.

    • Reid

      Reid says:
      (link)

      @Pat:

Funny stats with Bortles where Fournette doesn’t play.

Jags are 5-0 in games where Fournette doesn’t play. Bortles averages over 300 YPG, had 9 passing TD’s and only 1 INT.

Makes you wonder if the Jags hurt themselves by forcing the ball to Fournette (maybe to justify drafting him 4th overall). I’m all in on Bortles this week.

With Fournette out, here are my options: .5 PPR

Peyton Barber, Austin Ekeler, John Brown, Marquis Goodwin, Derrick Henry

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

I like Marquis Goodwin’s upside assuming it’s a shootout. The safest points are either Henry or Barber

    • Reid

      Reid says:
      (link)

@William Hung: John Brown is a must start in all formats.

He had 10 targets against Cincy last week and I don’t know if Baltimore is going to be overly effective in running the ball this week.

      • William Hung says:
        (link)

@Reid: @MB – should I play John Brown over Robert Woods?

        Here is my lineup today:
        QB- Luck
        RB- Bernard, McCaffrey
        WR- Cooks, Diggs, Woods
        TE- Ebron
        FLEX- Goodwin
        Bench:

    • Reid

      Reid says:

@Joel: Lindsay only because Kerryon Johnson has started to see more of those passes out of the backfield in Detroit which really hurts the value of Riddick.
