Our panel of know it all expert types take a look at some sleepers and busts for week 2 in the National Football League.  Our friend Matt Schauf over at RapidDraft.com hosts this week (no relation to Matt Schaub).  Take a look see and hopefully you’ll be happy that your players are all sleeping instead of busting!

so … this is probably a question on a number of owners’ minds

start Matt Schaub against Tennessee this week?

or give Schaub a week on the bench, and pick up Joe Flacco against San Diego or Shaun Hill against Seattle this week?

@J.P.: Yes, it’s a tough one, but I’m holding some hope in Big Ben’s numbers against Tennessee. I’m sticking with Schaub. Walter should be back. I’m not betting on huge numbers, but comparable to the guys you mention (who I do like this week!)

  3. J.P. says:

cool, I think I agree actually – Flacco is tempting, but one game is a small sample size to sacrifice other roster spots for

one another note, I’ve been offered Calvin Johnson for Wes Welker AND Julius Jones. Had a good draft so I already have Matt Forte, Marion Barber and Kevin Smith and I have Greg Jennings and Dwayne Bowe. I’m thinking C. Johnson is an upgrade over Bowe and Welker & Jones are worth the price for that. Would you take the trade like I would?

@J.P.: I think it’s pretty fair and as long as it’s not a ppr I would.

if Colts sign Baskett, does he step into the #2 role?

  6. Doc

    Doc says:

@Denys: I don’t think so, at least not very soon. Garcon and Collie know the offense and Manning will be more comfortable with them.

  7. Denys says:

@Doc: alright, i’m going to bit on Garcon. before i do – does he outpace the likes of Lee Evans, Antonio Bryant, or Davone Bess (in a .5 ppr league) statwise? or do I not bother?

i was high on gonzo going into the season, mostly based on the fact that Manning makes receivers look good, not the other way around.

  8. Doc

@Denys: I think I’d hold for now. Bess would be who I’d drop, but I think he’ll do well for you in ppr.

  9. Royo says:

Addai, Sproles, or Bell this week? PPR.

Okay, I have a WR debate this week. I am not sure who I should start given some tough matchups.

    My WR are:
    Larry Fitzgerald
    Roy Williams v. Giants
    TJ Housh. v. 49ers
    Donald Driver v. Bengals

Larry Fitzgerald is a no-brainer. So, out of the remaining 3, which one should I start? I was leaning towards Roy Williams but that Giants Def. is looking stout.

@Doc: i dropped Cowboys defense for Garcon instead. i have titans, which will hold me over until their bye-week (and beyond).

i’ll just plug-n-play whoever plays lion/rams on the bye week.

@Kristina: I think you have to stick with Roy. The Giants pass D isn’t the best. He may be erratic this year, but with Romo he always has the potential for a big game. Housh and Driver don’t have as much potential, but will give you solid outings.

@Denys: Sounds like a plan. Sounds like a strategy I would use.

@Royo: If LT doesn’t play, Sproles. If he does, Addai.

league 1. Need to pick 3 rbs of out these 4: Gore, Chris Johson, Westbrook, Ryan Grant…playing 2 in rb 1 in the wr/rb flex. Also, start Edwards or pick up collins?

league 2. In a huge pickle..cutler, schaub, or favre? Also..not a ppr league and choose 2: slaton, steven jackson, leon washington, felix jones.

@Ryan: Gore, Chris Johnson, Westbrook/ Edwards

That is a tough one. If I had seen Favre throw a little more last week I’d go with him, but I’m afraid they’ll just run AP down their guts. I like Schaub.

Gotta stick with your studs. Slaton ran for 100 yds twice on Tenn last season.

  16. Ryan says:

Cool, that’s what I currently have set in both leagues..just wanted another op.
League 1 was alright first week, squeaked out a win…league 2 wasn’t so pretty, went up against APs owner.

Should be another tough week for league 2, match-ups aren’t favorable.

Hey man, for a flex WR/RB position: Leon Washington or Patrick Crayton?

  18. Doc

    Doc says:

@david: I like Leon. Fred Jackson had a nice game against the Pats and I think Washington will get a lot of work.
