It looks like you have made it to the championship round! Or maybe you are playing for 3rd.. Or 5th.. Or you’re in the losers bracket and trying to avoid punishment like a tattoo or something. Maybe you are like me and are just not ready to let go of the season and want to play some DFS to make up for the league fees that you lost. No matter your situation, I have rankings for you.

glad to see that opening, as virtually everybody else (and i’m saying the writers) seemingly admit to living in give-up-wherever-they-might-be often at this time of year and thus assumes most/nearly all of everybody else does. i like trying to win, even if that’s 7th over 8th, whatever. when they assume you are still playing for the championship in week 15, 16 in their openings they are likely saying they themselves probably DO in fact not care to try winning if they themselves aren’t playing for 1st, which is at worst defeatist, and at best somebody who doesn’t actually ENJOY the competition of this game. and one would hope the person who writes strategy articles for fantasy themselves certainly enjoys/engages in it. the baseball writers make reference to this late in season as well but likely from roto and baseball being a 6 month fantasy sport (at least) i’m guessing they’re more likely to compete to the end of their own leagues.

-i’m not saying necessarily that this above effects their writing negatively but it sure does say something about themselves (clearly a great fantasy writer COULD of course punt all situations where they can’t get first anymore while still being a great fantasy writer and still be putting out great writing). it’s the whole “if you don’t get 1st you got last” that is ugly (to me) reductionist and binary thinking (false dilemma). i’d MUCH rather try to get 3rd and get it when possible than not. or 7th over 8th etc.

    – i also get that it’s entirely possible that the writers themselves aren’t like this when they write that stuff but assume (and it’s probably mathematically correct) the readers ARE like that, which, while probably being statistically accurate, doesn’t say much about their readers. but the frequency at which i see my above type thing written as the opener to articles at this time of year would lead one to believe it’s likely no small amount of them are like this.

so glad to see the head writer having this mindset or at least assuming his reader set does.

Thank you for this. It keeps me engaged when I don’t have the best year like this year in particular

Hey MB. Assuming Keenan Allen is active on Saturday, would you still start him over either Corey Davis or Larry Fitzgerald? Is there a minimum number of practice days he must get in that you’d like to see before you’d start him? (Full point PPR).

Yes I would. Nope, I’d throw him out there as long as he’s active

Hey MB – we made it to the Finals in 2 of 3 leagues, thanks again!!

    Here we go..my toughest start/sits:

1 – Cam, Rivers or Dak (leaning Dak?)
2 – J Howard or Ballage (is Drake even playing?)
    3 – ARob, Pettis or D Hamilton
4 – Choose 2 of these for Flex: Arob, Pettis, Howard, Ballage or D Hamilton

    Thanks!

You’re welcome. Great job! I’d roll with Prescott, Howard, A Rob, and Hamilton.

@Johnny Be Good: the 2nd in part 4 might hinge on PPR or not. pettis and ballage (one of them) are left to pick from.

Is there any way you trust Cam this week? I have Mahomes, Cam, and Manning as my QBs in a 2QB league. Cam was so close to costing me the win last week…

No way. Gotta play manning. Cams shoulder is shot

Ok, follow up question… Manning, Hieneke, or josh johnson?? All are available to me.

          I’d still roll out manning

what the hell, why are the pro bowl players chosen after week 15 in a league that has 17 weeks? i get that fantasy leagues might cut their seasons to weeks 1-15 but the NFL is kinda considering 2/17th (11.76%) of it’s season worthless if the play of those weeks don’t count towards it’s all star game.

    – just when you thought the bar had been lowered to squirrel sized limbo levels from gruden about peterman: “Peterman the most pro-ready quarterback in the 2017 draft class” and “no lower than the second round”. this is a few days that he gave carr the “vote”. what chance we see carr dropped/traded off so grudening can continue and they’re starting peterman next year?

14 team dynasty super standard super flex (15 yards rushing/receiving per point so QB’s worth even more than normal super flex)
QB goff, allen, driskel (in case he’s starting next year, more likely than almost all of the other late season fill ins (mullens/the CAR guy/foles others)
RB (2) gurley, breida, coleman, kelly, hyde (might have a job again next year is why no drop yet), ballage
WR (2) green, cooks, reynolds, m-will, pettis
    TE (1) brate, walker
    1 regular flex
    1 super flex
    IR (2) howard, guice
    K lutz
    DEF: MIN

drop hyde or ballage for j.wilson coming off WW tonight in case breida doesn’t play. it doesn’t LOOK like wilson will have much of a role next year though, and if breida does play ballage might be the start anyway over wilson as is. hyde of course could be starting somewhere next year. as weak as this team is in QB’s and depth in general (injuries to both good TE’s, held parker /dez way too long both) it’s in finals, and was a top 3 season team that’s how much having this much LAR helps (gurley mostly).

Yeah I’m not dropping Ballage in Dynasty but handcuffing Breida might be a good idea

      • Let Us Praise Famous Death Dwarves says:
        (link)

@MB: yeah we’ve seen this story before, so drake will go somewhere to start and be pretty good (he already is) as a guy who for once can get more than 14 (or now what 5) carries a game, ballage will do well but get benched by week 10 for another 4-5th round RB even though he’ll be better than that guy. maybe they bring hyde (or AP) in to steal ballage’s carries even though it’ll be quite clear who’s better.

the NHL is the only sport wherein you only get in trouble for doing ONLY the stuff that makes you unfairly better at the sport (i.e. HGH or roids). they do test for everything, but the worst thing you get if weed is in your system is a meeting at most with a sports psychologist (and i’m not even sure if you HAVE to go to it). meanwhile over in the NFL (probably mostly due to it’s insanely weak NFLPA union) guys that can’t quit weed during season are ruining their careers, and the NFL can make the kind of “random” drug tests wherein one guy can be tested 6 out of 11 weeks when if it was really random he’d have a 10/72 chance each week. but NFLPA so damn week they allowed this kind of shit.

hogan should be back to useful now on the ligher side for those in really deep leagues, and for shallower leagues go add him again.

@Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo: first thing i thought though when i read that gordon was
“stepping away from the football field for a bit to focus on my mental health”
that this was another time he found out he was ABOUT to be tested, and a method of dodging the test like he did back in preseason. this time the line is given AFTER being caught yet again.

@MB: his refridgerator will probably have more room in the freezer now and i’m sure his dealers will be happy (#look on the bright side)

be pretty funny if they unionized together to get this weed shit fixed by EVERYBODY getting caught on weed on purpose at the same time.
public: “wow, the NFL sure sucks, 320 players a week are getting suspended for a legal in lots of places and doesn’t make them better at football anyway drug”

From my understanding the THC threshold is pretty high for an NFL player to fail. Basically they’d have to put it out while walking into the facility to fail but I think Gordon probably had a zero tolerance policy with the NFL as a part of his reinstatement. I’m also fairly certain he’s also having trouble with prescription meds based on what I’ve read in the past.

            • Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:
              (link)

@MB: WOW, so all those guys we see get the weed suspensions (if they are those rather than pills) have to be VERY high THC readings, didn’t know that. i did read that long article about gordon and the addictions (think it was the trifecta of booze/weed/pills) i think about a year ago. the pills thing, these guys ARE hurt nearly all the time, you’d think the pain killers would be legal for them as well, but of course that’s only in a league that has a policy that makes sense (i.e. only in trouble if you’re taking things that make you an unfairly better player like in hockey). i know the teams themselves often gave these to the players (the painkillers)

How high does the Falcons D jump with the news that Cam is out and they’re starting a QB with 5 career pass attempts?

I’m currently deciding between starting the Broncos @ Oak or Jax @ Mia, FWIW.

I know everyone has to live with their own choices. I’m in the championship game, and for my flex, I’m deciding between Sony Michel, Jamaal Williams, Tyler Lockett, and Doug Baldwin. Everywhere I look has Sony Michel ranked highest, but I feel less trust in him since Rex Burkhead returned. Would I be crazy to roll the dice on Doug Baldwin over the other three?
