Tuesday was a good day! FantasyPros releases their weekly accuracy rankings on Tuesdays and this year those Tuesdays are a pretty good day for us. In week 2, our own Jay finished 2nd out of 130-some rankers and is now ranked 6th overall for the season. Jay has been doing this for years. He really has a knack for rankings on top of the “your mom” jokes. It also makes me feel great that such an accomplished fantasy football guru saw something in me and gave me a bigger role in this football section of the site that he put so much into building. Jay might not be around as much as he used to be, but his weekly rankings that post on Thursday are still some of the best that you can get. Hell, their probably the best that you can get for free.

Enough about Jay. I didn’t do too shabby myself! My rankings were the 23rd most accurate in week 2. I would obviously rather finish in the top 10 than 23rd, but hey! 23rd is way above average. You get a shot at way above average rankings for free each week. As always, thank you for visiting, reading, and commenting. Now let’s get to those week 3 rankings!

Congrats on the rankings. You guys put a lot of work and it’s helped me in my first year playing fantasy a lot.

I am wondering if i should offer christian kirk for tyreek hill?

I also have godwin, allen and mike evans in ppr. I also already have Hunter henry injured on my bench.

Thanks! Yeah I’d do that. You’re pretty solid at the position and can afford to wait for Hill

  2. Let Us Now Praise Famous Death Dwarves says:
    (link)

also, i’m pretty sure jaywrong’s rankings have been gradually moving up the last few years in general (for whole seasons i’m saying). and when you’re dealing with a couple of hundred people doing that it’s pretty nice to be able to say that.

    • MB

      MB says:

Yeah! He has a couple of top 10 finishes for the whole season

  3. Paul Zone says:

Would you trade Mack and Gurley for OBJ or Adams?

My RBs – Elliot, Henry Gurley, Mack, Singletary, Thompson

My WRs: Allen, Godwin, Ty Williams, Gordon, Fitz

Hate losing that RB depth but OBJ or Adam’s are best players.. Thoughts?

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

Yeah, I really like both. My first target would be OBJ!

      • Paul Zone says:
        (link)

I was figuring you’d say no. Haha. He will give me OBJ for Mack/Gurley. You wouldn’t be concerned with losing the RB depth?

Please convince me this is a good trade for me lol

        • MB

          MB says:
          (link)

I mean I guess losing RB depth is concern. But I just want to sell Gurley. What does the waiver wire look like?

          • Paul Zone says:
            (link)

Nothing on waiver wire for starters. Gore, maybe. Some Handcuffs are available.

              I’d grab gore

    • Gummy says:
      (link)

Somehow, Miles Sanders was dropped in my 12-team ppr league. Of course, he’s an add, but is he worth my number one waiver claim?

      • MB

        Yes. Grab him

  4. Nightpandas says:
    (link)

Awesome job with ranking efficiency !

Would you move Mostert for Agholor?

14 team std. right now my wr 2 is Sutton and I have Deebo on the bench. Mostert is on the bench with Bell and AJones as my rbs and Breida in my flex spot. Is Agholor enough of an upgrade over those two wr?

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

Thanks! No, I don’t think I would. I’m worried that Agholor goes back to not being very useful when Jeffrey and Jackson are healthy again. Mostert should continue to have a significant role in the offense even when Coleman returns.

  5. EG says:

In a 12-team PPR league, what are top four of the following for the rest of the season? This is for second flex spot / bench… Happy with rest of team, so looking for upside vs. safety… Given choices below, have some pref for WR

Crowder, Fuller, Sutton, Demarcus Robinson, DK Metcalf, Agholor, Chark, Deebo, Darwin Thompson…

    Thanks!

  6. friar says:

Congrats on the rankings! I’m guessing 23rd every week would get you into the top 10 for the season, so just keep doin’ what yer doin’.

Two part waiver wire question for you. First, someone just dropped Josh Gordon in my 12-team 0.5 ppr league. I feel like I should put in a claim, but I’m not sure who I should conditionally drop (roster below). Also, I was surprised to see both Demarcus Robinson and Gore made it through our waivers last night unclaimed. Would you recommend I drop anyone to grab one of those guys? My goal for the bench is to have players with the best shot of either vaulting into my lineup or gaining enough trade value to get me a better starter (less worried about handcuffs/bye replacements given the plentiful options currently on waivers).

    QB: Wilson
    RB: D. Johnson, Chubb
    WR: Cooks, Watkins
    TE: Kittle
    Flex: Damien Williams
Bench: Justin Jackson, Mostert, Robby Anderson, Hardman, MVS
    IR: Guice

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

Thanks! Yeah I’d put a claim in on Gordon. The Brown show could be far from over. You already have Hardman so nah on Robinson. I like Hardman better going forward

      • friar says:
        (link)

Thanks! I’ll have to drop someone to claim Gordon. You think MVS is the guy?

        • MB

Who knows in Green Bay. He had a good first game though!

          • friar says:
            (link)

Yeah, that unpredictability is the problem with bench spot roulette: it seems like whichever guy I drop is guaranteed to be the one that blows up next week.

Which bench guy would you suggest I drop for Flash Gordon: Justin Jackson, Mostert, Robby Anderson, Hardman, or MVS?

            • MB

              MB says:
              (link)

    3) AB/AP for sony michel/ devon singletary

so far across multiple leagues i’ve shored up my biggest issues (able to nab olsen in ALL my henry redrafts, went back to ebron in my one henry dynasty team and was able to stash henry in IR slot), but now goff (who i have in a bunch of spots) hasn’t been living up to rudy’s bot’s love thusly. replaced ben with jimmer G in the one spot i had ben and already had j.allen. he’s up to like 8th this week from FP’s top guys, so that’s nice. in one spot where i have goff but nobody else (goff ranked a decent amount lower this week than j.allen, people are valuing him well finally) j.allen just got dropped.
    QB (1) goff
RB (2) AAron, fournette, lindsay, mal brown, gore (he’s a funny case, dropped/readded in numerous leagues so far from usage and singletary minorly hurt)
WR (2) adams, edelman, j.brown, sutton, mclaurin, green
    TE (1) olsen
    1 flex
IR (1) coleman (somebody dropped him even though we have an IR slot, possible the owner doesn’t know how to use them)

who’s my drop for j.allen if anybody here, coleman or green is in the IR slot. later i’ll have to figure out who to drop for green if i drop coleman now. goff seems too good to just turn into a streamer slot even with 2 not great games so far. but having goff + j.allen seems like a smart move (murray has been WW’d everywhere by those with better waiver than me)

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

Mal Brown, when are you ever gonna start him unless Gurley gets hurt

      • Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey says:
        (link)

certainly true but if gurley did get hurt (and he’s gotta be a top 3 top RB for injury risk as of now i’d think, long term injury too) he’d suddenly move up to RB 2 for sure, over fournette too. gore/lindsay (without royce injury) would seem to have no route to that value. coleman’s hard to gauge too, if/when he’s back is that a 3 man timeshare? might be. j.wilson’d go away, but mostert probably not.

        • MB

          MB says:
          (link)

          Yeah, tough spot

          • Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey says:
            (link)

hold gore here over j-will, doesn’t seem like they’ll be using d-will like some in preseason thought.

  14. Super Terrific Carpal Tunnel Virusy Box vs Mail Robot (who wins?) says:
    (link)

super flex 12 team PPR (keep 4, brand new league this year):

    QB (1): wentz/trubisky/mariota
RB (2) AAron, mack, lindsay, burkhead, ballage, ogun (attempting to drop ogun for d.robinson from FAAB today, even though that leaves me with a good deal more WR’s than RB’s, but the RB’s in FA are really bad, i had dropped armstead for burkhead last week)
WR (3): adams, dede, fuller, a.wilson (this guy should if healthy get the targets, going back to last year he was awesome, this year he got thrown at 4/5 of the throws when healthy), p.williams (this guy gets better valued if/when a.wilson it out), c.davis
TE (1) kelce, hockenson (didn’t even plan to go backup TE here at all, then hock was in the 3rd or 2nd to last round still around)
    2 regular flexes
    1 super flex

trying to figure out how much to bid on these: rudolph (over mariota), d.thompson (over ogun and maybe ballage), d.robinson (over ogun only, can’t weaken by RB’s for any non big name WR), wilkins (over ogun only i’d think, in case drake gets moved, but handcuffing mack probably smart idea, plus the footballguys did a piece on wilkins, they like him a LOT)

    1. the FAAB guy i saw both advise 2 ben owners to bid 40 and 16 (out of 100). here i have 89 left and i’m thinking something like this what youse think:
rudolph 25 (minshew and keenum last week went for 11 and 3)
d.robinson 16-18 (dola last week went for 11)
d.thompson (FAAB guy says low 4 here, but with my RB weaker team maybe 6-7)
wilkins (he’ll be cheap probably, but handcuffing, 5)

    2. since i’ll be trying to drop ogun for robinson or thompson also drop ballage for wilkins here or no?

deebo/hardman/robinson. deebo graded out very high on this year’s draft for WR’s, 5th, hardman behind him by about 7 guys. robinson’s been around a while. t.hill not dead.

  16. Keeks says:
    (link)

    Whats up man

I am in a league that has QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 Flex and *return yards count*

RBs: James Conner, Chris Carson, Tarik Cohen, Devin Singletary, Carlos Hyde, Ballage
Wrs; OBJ, Lockett (Consistently finishes top 10 in this format), Demarcus Robinson, Dede, Deebo, Conley

Would you trade Conner OR Carson + Lockett for Hopkins + Freeman?

Leaning yes but was hoping for a 2nd opinion. Thanks boss

    • Yr Never Too Old For Balloons says:
      (link)

not me, this looks like return yards are worth the same as scrimmage (i’m in at least one like that). in weeks where lockett gets a bunch of return stuff he’s sometimes better than hopkins or at least close. d.freeman isn’t close to as valuable as conner (when healthy) nor probably carson. also ito is cutting him up this year so far. i doubt you could’ve meant r.freeman here.

      • Keeks says:
        (link)

Your right it is close, Lockett was WR10 in this league last year and that was with Doug baldwin still on the seahawks. Hopkins was WR2. I am also kind of down on Conner right now with the state of the steelers.

My thought is that the ceiling for Hopkins +OBJ is higher then OBJ + lockett and between Carson, Freeman, Cohen (Return yards), Singletary, Hyde I would have no problem filling my rb slots each week.

Then at the 2 flex I rotate any of those other backs plus Dede, Deebo, Demarcus Robinson, Conley, and Hockenson

        • Yr Never Too Old For Balloons says:
          (link)

yeah in mine nuke was 3rd (league also has bonuses for hitting 100 caught yards might be the difference here), lockett 10th. since yr RB depth was better than yr WR depth that could tip it.

    • MB

Curtis Samuel’s available in my half PPR league but I can’t get myself to drop McLaurin, Waller, Malcolm Brown or Fuller. I’m starting John Brown and Mike Williams, so I’m looking for bench upside.

  19. water boy says:
    (link)

Hey man! .5 ppr league , seeing if you if think the waiver move I made was bad: I dropped Dede Westbrook for Demarcus Robinson.

Also looking at your rankings & thielen is low; in the Calvin Ridley, diggs, brandin cooks range. If you were me would you look to move thielen soon? Do any of these move the needle in a 1 for 1 swap: amari cooper (May be stretching it), brandin cooks, diggs, Mike Evans (buy low?), Calvin Ridley.

As for a thielen for RB swap thoughts on these: Derrick Henry, Kerryon Johnson, Mark Ingram, Chris Carson

Or a 2 for 1 David Montgomery + thielen for one of: Chubb, marlon Mack, leveon bell, Aaron Jones

Or lastly thielen + Justin Jackson for Aaron Jones + DK metcalf (he’s a Ekeler owner & JJ means more to him than me)

Hold or drop hockenson? I’m looking to add one of: Josh Allen, Andy Dalton, rivers to backup my QB Wilson. Or at WR amendola, trey Quinn, devin Smith, Marquise Goodwin, AJ brown, best available RBs are burkhead, ito Smith & ballage or deal hockenson to get AP to bolster RB or hockenson + Chris Thompson or Mostert to get Allen Robinson?

Lastly this trade offer I received is bad or fair? I send AJ green + thielen , I get Chris Carson + brieda I feel this deal hurts my WR depth

    Thanks as always!

I forget, but on a podcast several years ago, I kinda ran a thought experiment trying to explain that if my rankings finish ranked 35ish or higher, it’s a net win for the readership at the end of the year. Essentially your taking the top 25 percent of the industry, and providing readers that slice of the rankings pie.

I’m not sure how any of the math works, but math is just dark magic anyways…

Is guide worth holding onto in a 12 team league? Are you expecting anything from when he comes off of IR? There was talk of him being an every down back. He didnt look good week 1

he was the 2nd best RB rookie last year by draft grades (this is since chubb got slower after knee surgery, at WORST guice was the 3rd guy if you argue for chubb getting that speed back) if he’s healthy he’s worth having if you can stash. WAS intended to start him over AP so if healthy reps weren’t the issue (like with let’s say 3/4th of this year’s topish RB rookie group of singletary/sanders/montgomery)

a whole bunch of “daily blitz podcasts” just got added, and i don’t only mean one from yesterday, going back weeks, maybe months, but they were just added now, or were they meant to be added weeks/months ago and there was some glitch?

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

Where were they added? We added a new podcast, it should have it’s own feed

        (link)

right, you just recently added a new podcast, but go look at how retroactively it shows them from long before you added them here. if you scroll the pages you’ll suddenly see many podcasts who’s dates are weeks/months ago. i’m not saying this is bad, just that i’m making sure it wasn’t some glitch that i missed them for that whole time and it just now got fixed.

Would you trade Sony Michel for Devin Singletary PPR . I feel like NE is doing the same thing as they always do chopping work 3 ways where Singletary will see more consistent work what are your thoughts ?

    Thanks

      No, I’d hold onto Michel

    .5 Ppr

I have the worst WR Corp I’ve ever seen in my 12 team league. I have to play upside every week.

Would you say it’s safe to drop Dede Westbrook for Devin Smith for the next few weeks? Smith I think has massive potential the few weeks why Gallup is out. He’s the best deep threat on the Cowboys roster.

I’d hate to drop Dede. I think that’s a panic move, any other drops?

      • Pink Doves says:
        (link)

        Will Fuller? Michael Gallup?

They’d be next on the chopping block….

Valdes-Scatling was just dropped today and Corey Davis is on my WW too. So I don’t know if DeDe would even be the best WR on the WW.

MB, I lost Brees in my 12tm PPR league. If he’s really only gonna miss 6 weeks I don’t want to drop him. I picked up Stafford (@Phi this week, vs KC next, then a bye) and am thinking of grabbing Jameis too. I hate carrying 3 QBs but think I should at least until week 5 when Staf is on bye. Who would you lose for Jameis: G. Tate, Hardman, C. Thompson, or Malcolm Brown. My starters are Kamara, McCaffrey, Mixon,
Edelman, Larry Fitz, and Allen Robinson.

    Thanks!

    • Stumanji! says:

Or should I just roll with one of Stafford or Jameis and leave the other alone (and worry about week 5 later).
