What are my rankings bona fidas? Well, there’s finishing in the FantasyPros Top-10 Draft Accuracy (7th Place) in 2017, Top-25 Weekly Accuracy (23rd Place) in 2017, Top-5 Draft Accuracy (3rd place) in 2016, Top-10 Weekly Accuracy (10th Place) in 2016, Top-25 Weekly Accuracy in 2015 (21st Place) and on average we’ve finished in the Top-10 Draft Accuracy (9th Overall) and the Top-20 Weekly Accuracy (18th Overall) for the past three years. I’d like to think we’re pretty good at this stuff…

What does the word bona fidas mean? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, bo·na fi·des \ ˌbō-nə-ˈfī-ˌdēz , ÷ˈbō-nə-ˌfīdz \ means 1 : good faith : sincerity, 2 : the fact of being genuine —often plural in construction, 3 : evidence of one’s good faith or genuineness —often plural in construction, 4 : evidence of one’s qualifications or achievements —often plural in construction. On a separate note, I think it would make a great name for a cat.

What’s my ranking process? I’ve actually written about this in the past, and instead of working hard for new and enlightening content, I have chosen the more efficient (lazy, ahem) method and dropping in a link to that post here. Honestly, my process hasn’t changed much at all (the ole “don’t fix what ain’t broke” proverb comes to mind) and so my “A Day in the Life of a Fantasy Football Ranker” story still remains relevant to this day. (The TL;DR is: I’m ghetto as fudge. Well, I mean the other “f” word, but I’m hungry.)

How should I use your rankings? The same way your mother does. Which actually makes no sense. (Unless your mother is in the running to always finish top-3 in your Fantasy Football league. And if that’s the case, say hello to her for me.)

Yo J, little help. I got Marlon Mack, Derrick Henry, Damien Williams, and Matt Breida. Need to start 2. Full point PPR. Any gut feelings beyond your rankings?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mike: Gut would say Mack and Breida… risky on the second one though.

      • RyGuy says:
        (link)

Breida against the Bears? When you have Henry and Williams ranked above him??? Do you get paid for this?

  2. Scott says:
    (link)

need to pick a wr out of Humphries, a robinson, pettis, foster. .5 ppr. Also would you add and start Hogan or Patterson over any of those guys with Gordon out of the picture? Thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Scott: Naw, and probably ARob.

  3. gmeezy says:

    Jay Doggg,

    Can you help me put?

    Pick 1 flex

    J. WIlliams
    E Maguire
    J Howard

    Pick 2 WR:

    Pettis
    Humphries
    d Hamilton

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@gmeezy: Williams and Howard and then Humphries and Pettis.

  4. Club Dub says:

Njoku or Brate? Standard league. Also, Njoku or Burton in a PPR? I know what the rankings say, but TE is gross. I’m playing for upside, not safety so does that change the play with these guys for you?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Club Dub: Brate on both for me.

  5. Andy says:

Two leagues, have a few conundrums in each…

    1. League 1 – Standard Scoring – Need to pick a flex spot between Robert Woods, Elijah McGuire, Damian Williams and Kalen Ballage. Currently have Woods, but very tempted by McGuire.

    2. Leage 2 – Half Point PPR – Need two starters among this group (Philip Lindsey, Jamaal Willaims, Chris Carson, Sony Michel, Damian Williams. Currently using Jamaal Williams and Carson.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Andy: I’d do Williams and Carson with Williams works for me on the second.

  6. Nick says:

Hey Jay, been MIA lately but am onto the fantasy championship this year for a nice $450… currently I have McCaffrey at RB1, J Williams at RB2 & Cohen flexing, but now you have me thinking Coleman at flex since he is a few spots above Cohen…since Cam is out, I assume that’s why you have Coleman higher but Carolina D was stout last week…think they will come back down to earth playing with a backup QB now? This could be a $450 decision 😜

    • Nick says:
      (link)

@Nick: With Ware essentially ruled out, now I need to decide between Jamal or Damian Williams at flex. I’m going to stick with Cohen at RB2, been riding him all season and SF is a good matchup…help!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: Well done man! Yeah, that’s why, I do like Colman this week.

  7. Mr Anderson says:
    (link)

    1/2 point scoring

Do I start Gurley (if he’s active ) or would you start Damien Williams, Cohen, or J. Williams over him ?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Mr Anderson: Yeah, I’m cool with Gurley if he’s active.

  8. Jerseyjon says:

Just want to give praise to you guys again. I use your rankings for my 2 drafts Jay’s for one and M.B.’s for the other and read your blogs. In the finals in both leagues and owe it all to you. Funny because I’m always projected to finish last or at the bottom by the yahoo app. If people aren’t using this website they’re at a disadvantage. Thanks for everything and hope everyone has a great Holiday

@Jerseyjon: Thanks for the kind words man, appreciated!

  9. TheJuiceIsLoose says:

So I’ve got injuries everywhere going against the #1 scoring team. With my roster I’m guessing I should be going for boom potential to have a chance. That being said who should I start?
    Rivers vs Mayfield
    WRs: Adams, Pettis, Reynolds
RBs: Coleman vs Barber vs Ballage
    TE: Njoku vs Hooper

Start 2 WRs and 2 RBs, and one flex so of the WR/RB who is the better flex? I currently starting Baker, Adams/Pettis, Mixon, Coleman, Reynolds flex, and Njoku following your rankings. Any changes?

    • TheJuiceIsLoose says:
      (link)

      @TheJuiceIsLoose:

I guess also Titans D vs Bears D is a toss up as well

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@TheJuiceIsLoose: Yeah, if you followed your current starters, that’s how I would have gone.

  10. Russowl says:
    (link)

10 team standard league with added 10 point bonus at 100 rushing or 100 receiving

should I start Eric Ebron or Tevin Coleman?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Russowl: I think Coleman is good there.

  11. Bluety says:
    (link)

PPR after 3 catch do i go L. Fournette or J. Samuels? I have Ellott and Chubb in RB position. Flex Fournette or Samuels.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Bluety: I think Fournette there.

  12. southside dom says:

Jay! Standard scoring. Need help picking my WR3. Can you give me some color on the following?

-Coming on late Robby Anderson vs GB
-Surging but fragile Doug Baldwin vs KC
-Never know what you’re gonna get Jarvis Landry vs CIN

They’re all generally clustered in the same tier and feel like have varying degrees of boom/bust potential. I am currently the projected favorite, but going up against the #1 seed. We both have some question marks (he has Gurley iffy and Lamar Miller out, but Goff/Woods/Chubb/Tyreek Hill/Jeffrey could go off for him // Meanwhile, I’m slightly nevous about CMC without Cam and Mixon without Boyd)

And as they say: “Last game of the year, Brent, can’t hold back anything now!”

Appreciate your advice and Merry Christmas

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@southside dom: Sup man! Let’s go Baldwin… good luck!
