Ladies and gentlemen, we have officially completed the 2023 football season as the Chiefs bested the 49ers in the Super Bowl. That does not mean we are done over here @RazzBowlNFL. We are here for you during both this downtime and throughout the offseason with all kinds of football content. As you have over the past couple of weeks, we are rolling out our Way Too Early Fantasy Football Rankings, in which we provide our positional rankings. We will be updating those rankings throughout the offseason as news breaks. Whether it’s coaching changes, free agency, the NFL draft, etc., there will be a lot of movement between now and the summer. Stick with us along the way, and you’ll be ready to go when you’re on the clock for the 2024 draft season.

My assignment is Wide Receivers. Today, I build on my initial list of Top 20 Wide Receivers with my second set of 20 for the 2024 season. I can’t wait to see how this list evolves between now and August, and there is no better time than now to start!

The Impact of Coaching and Personnel Changes

  • Player: Stefon Diggs
  • Team: Buffalo Bills
  • My Rank (2024 ECR): WR22 (WR17)

For some reason, Stefon Diggs disappeared late in 2023. Was he experiencing Wide Receiver Diva Syndrome, was he injured, or was there something else afoot? Whatever the reason for the decline, we need to tread carefully when ranking Diggs. I love the QB in Buffalo and think the running game is ascending. Sprinkle in the solid TE play from the rookie Kincaid, and all things point to an offense that should produce a lot of points and fantasy volume. My major question heading into 2024 is ‘where is Diggs’ head?’. I want to know that he is in a good mental place and ready to get back to his Pro Bowl-level output. Once I see the all-good signs out of Buffalo camp, I fully expect Diggs to jump up my rankings, but for now, I am a few spots lower on him than are the ECR ranks.

  • Player: Drake London
  • Team: Atlanta Falcons
  • My Rank (2024 ECR): WR24 (WRB28)

Many experts were high on London heading into 2023, and Arthur Smith ruined fantasy football for virtually all Falcons assets. Now that Smith has been relieved of his head coaching duties and Zac Robinson has moved from the Rams to the Falcons to assume OC duties, London is starting to move up my board. ECR still has him lower than I do, but I fully expect London to move up the ECR boards during training camp, especially after the Falcons have traded for Josh Fields or drafted their QB of the future. Keep an eye on the upcoming draft, as I will undoubtedly shift London around based on trades and draft picks. Suffice it to say, I will be higher on London heading into 2024 than I was heading into 2023.

  • Player: Zay Flowers
  • Team: Baltimore Ravens
  • My Rank (2024 ECR): WR28 (WR27)

I fell in love with Flowers as the 2023 fantasy draft season approached, and I was able to nab him in Rounds 9-11 in almost every league. I had him highlighted based on my prediction of him being a PPR machine with run-after-the-catch ability. My predictions were not exactly spot on, but I promise I saw flashes of both attributes as the season wore on. There are a lot of solid WRs with significant QB questions as we move closer to free agency, and Flowers is not one of those players. It is an absolute certainty Flowers will be catching passes from league MVP Lamar Jackson again in 2024. I would like to see more targets, especially downfield, and I think the Ravens will need to throw a little more to get back to the top of the AFC charts in 2024. I expect the front office to sign a WR in free agency and probably draft one in the middle rounds to provide more weapons to Jackson. I see Flowers as the clear WR1 in Baltimore only taking a backseat to Mark Andrews as the #1 pass catcher in the offense. I appear to be right in line with ECR as it pertains to Flowers. Here’s to hoping we are both correct.

  • Player: Courtland Sutton
  • Team: Denver Broncos
  • My Rank (2024 ECR): WR35 (WR42)

Who will be throwing the ball to Sutton (and Jeudy) in 2024? I do not have an answer for that, but expect to see a name soon via free agency or the draft. One thing I am positive of is that the 2024 QB1 in Denver will not be Russell Wilson. Keep reading to see where I think Wilson is headed. Though Sutton established a great rapport with Wilson, I think there was still meat on the bone, and Sutton only scratched the surface of his fantasy output. With the right QB under center and another year of HC Sean Payton calling plays bodes well for Sutton’s output. Keep an eye on where Sutton ultimately lands on my rankings once the Broncos have solidified their QB position.

  • Player: Jakobi Meyers
  • Team: Las Vegas Raiders
  • My Rank (2024 ECR): WR40 (WR45)

If you are still reading, you clearly want to know where I am planting my flag as Russell Wilson’s next stop. Here it is…I think Wilson is dealt, within the division, to the Raiders. With that, I think Wilson will be a better fantasy QB in 2024 than he was in 2023, especially if Davante and Jakobi stick around as WR1-2. Meyers was lights out in the middle of the season while reeling in 8 TDs on the season. As the WR2, and with Davante garnering much of the defensive attention, Meyers should improve on his 71-807-8 (106 targets) line from 2023. I am clearly higher on Meyers than ECR. I can envision him moving up this list a little based on where QBs land during free agency. Time will tell if my prediction of Russ to the Raiders is accurate. All of that to say this…Meyers is a young, solid talent that could blossom with the right QB and gameplan. I am excited to watch him in 2024.
