Razzball Dynamic Injury Report

Welcome to the future! Now you can feel as cool as everyone who has an iphone. What we are going to do is continually update this post to reflect the latest injury news for this Sunday. Basically we’re going to do all the work; you just have to hit the refresh button!

We are going to discuss all the players from Probable to Doubtful, shedding light on what we think their chances of playing are at the moment. As teams announce their active and inactive players before game time we will also update that.

Since Fantasy revolves around the offensive skill positions we are going to focus on that. We may sneak in a few key IDP or mention key offensive linemen whose status could affect quarterbacks, etc.

A note on players listed as Probable: we are going to assume that they will play so unless there’s something significant to report we won’t discuss them at length.

Arizona Cardinals

Doubtful: Mike Gandy (LT)

Kurt Warner – Earlier in the week it looked certain that he would play. He has continued to have symptoms throughout the week, however. In addition Mike Gandy, the Cardinals left tackle, is doubtful and will miss the game. Wait for more updates on this situation.

Tim Hightower – The extent of his thumb injury is unknown at this point. He is a surprise addition to the injury report. All reports indicate that he will play but if the thumb is really bothering him that won’t bode will in the passing game.

Neil Rackers – He has been Questionable for several weeks and he hasn’t missed a game. I wouldn’t be nervous about putting him in your lineup.

Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan

Michael Turner – He should really be listed under Doubtful. No one expects him to play.

Roddy White – He will start today.

Michael Jenkins – He missed practiced for the third day in a row on Friday. It’s looking more and more like he won’t play on Sunday. You shouldn’t be owning him in the first place but I digress.

Baltimore Ravens

Ed Reed – He didn’t look healthy at all last Sunday and has missed practice on several occasions this week. I wouldn’t expect him to play and if he does don’t expect a lot from him.

Joe Flacco – He will play, put it in the bank.

Buffalo Bills

No injuries to key players

Carolina Panthers

Jake Delhomme

DeAngelo Williams – He was on here last week and played so don’t expect him to miss this Sunday’s game.

Jonathan Stewart – Expect him to be active.

Chicago Bears

No injuries to key players

Cincinnati Bengals

Bernard Scott

Cedric Benson – This is great news for his owners (like myself). Expect him to return to his role as the main back in Cincinnati.

Laveranues Coles – He should play on Sunday.

Cleveland Browns

Jamal Lewis – He was placed on Injured Reserve in case you’ve been hiding under a rock this week.

Chris Jennings – His shoulder is bothering him but he’s fully expected to play on Sunday. Jerome Harrison is officially listed as the starter which is a surprise. I would take a wait and see approach before putting either one of them in my lineup.

Dallas Cowboys

Tony Romo

Jason Witten

Denver Broncos

Eddie Royal

Kyle Orton

Detroit Lions

Matthew Stafford

Calvin Johnson

Green Bay Packers

Ryan Grant – He has been limited in practice but is fully expected to play. The tough part about this is the Packers are playing on Monday Night so you’ll just have to roll the dice if you want him in your lineup.

Aaron Rodgers – Should be active for the game.

Houston Texans

Jacoby Jones – Not injury related; Jones was late to a team meeting and was told not to bother travelling with the team for this Sunday’s game.

Steve Slaton – His neck injury kept him from being able to practice on Friday. He is NOT playing today.

Indianapolis Colts

Donald Brown

Anthony Gonzalez

Adam Vinatieri

Dwight Freeney

Peyton Manning

Joseph Addai

Reggie Wayne

Jacksonville Jaguars

Maurice Jones-Drew

Mike Sims-Walker

Kansas City Chiefs

Kolby Smith

Dantrell Savage

Miami Dolphins

Ricky Williams

Minnesota Vikings

Visanthe Shiancoe – Limited in practice this week but is fully expected to play

Chester Taylor – Ditto.

Adrian Peterson

Bernard Berrian

New England Patriots

Fred Taylor – He could be returning shortly (possibly as soon as next week). I’m not sure how valuable he can possibly be with Maroney playing so solidly as of late.

Sammy Morris – Coach Belichick has said that Morris is looking healthier this week in practice. He is still a stash at this point so this weeks status shouldn’t matter that much to you.

Tom Brady

Benjamin Watson

New Orleans Saints

Reggie Bush – He missed last weeks game and was limited in practice this week but Bush said emphatically that he will play on Sunday.

Mike Bell

Pierre Thomas

Jeremy Shockey

New York Giants

Danny Ware – He has a concussion so consider this previously touted Sleeper dead weight on your roster from here on out.

Ahmad Bradshaw – Fully expected to play this Sunday despite the nagging injuries he’s been dealing with. I would be very cautious about putting him in your lineup, however.

Eli Manning

New York Jets

Mark Sanchez – He’s lucky to have not sustained a worse injury due to his refusal to slide like a wussy. The PCL sprain shouldn’t keep him out of this contest but you shouldn’t be playing him in anything other than 2 quarterback leagues anyway.

Oakland Raiders

Justin Fargas

Philadelphia Eagles

Kevin Curtis

Brian Westbrook

DeSean Jackson

Brent Celek – He practiced all week without limitations so don’t be nervous about the thumb issue. As an aside the Eagles inked him to a six year deal this week.

Jeremy Maclin – It’s nonsense for him to be listed on here in the first place. For those of you in return yard leagues it was announced that he will take over DeSean Jackson’s role as the punt returner.

Jason Avant – He really shouldn’t be listed on here either. Fully expect him to play and be productive.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Troy Polamalu

Charlie Batch

Ben Roethlisberger

St. Louis Rams

Mark Bulger

Steven Jackson – Same issue as before (back spasms) but that didn’t stop him from ripping it up last week so I wouldn’t be hesitant about starting him.

San Diego Chargers

Eric Weddle

Shawn Merriman

San Francisco 49ers

No injuries to significant players

Seattle Seahawks

Justin Forsett – This is a huge blow to those of us hoping he’d remain the feature back in Seattle despite Julius Jones’ return.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Michael Clayton

Kellen Winslow

Limited Participation in Practice

Carnell Williams – His knee has been bothering him but he is definitely going to play this weekend.

Tennessee Titans

No significant injuries to key players

Washington Redskins

  1. G says:

I have a big predicament..I need to pick 2 of these RB’s in a PPR. Most of the rankings I’ve looked at have all these guys at around the same spot. Which 2 do you like and why? LT, Mendenhall, Ricky Williams, Ray Rice..thanks in advance

  2. Drew

    Drew says:

@G: LT (matchup against Cleveland is just too good), Ray Rice (it’s PPR and aside from that he’s just too studly to sit)

  3. AL KOHOLIC says:

    @G: nice problem to have

  4. Van Hammersly says:

Flex question: McCoy or Maclin in a league that counts Return Yards and TDs? I like McCoy’s 20+ touches, but Maclin’s taking over return duties today with Jackson out. Thanks for the injury report this AM!

  5. jesse says:

how about greg jennings vs. hines ward?

  6. Nick says:

Heady Braphet. I am embarrassed to ask, BUT I need 3 out of these 5 sub par RBs. K. Smith, Beanie, Snelling, Cartwright, and Norwood. After snickering quietly to yourself guide me to the bye week I am somehow about to flop in to.

  7. Drew

    Drew says:

    @jesse: Ward

@Nick: Cartwright, Snelling (I would pay attention to the team news, though, and start Norwood if it’s announced that he’s the starter. Right now it’s supposed to be Snelling)

  8. hideousmutants says:

My WRs (non ppr) have a lot of question marks:

Colston (against tough D with cold-weather hating QB)

Roddy (injured, tough D, backup QB)

    Boldin (Warner starting? Tough D)

All this has me considering Avant. Am I nuts and, if so, which stud would you start?

  9. Drew

    Drew says:

@hideousmutants: how many WR can you start, total?

  10. hideousmutants says:

2 total. My other is Sidney Rice but figured he was a lock

  11. Doc

    Doc says:

@Van Hammersly: I like the for sure touches out of McCoy, but I can see the upside out of Maclin. Maclin.

  12. vinko says:

Need one, non ppr – Burleson, Avant, Walter, or Hester?

  13. Doc

    Doc says:

    @vinko: I like Avant

  14. ELaw says:

Palmer or McNabb? Also…Vernon Davis or Gonzalez or both? Thanks.

  15. Doc

    Doc says:

@ELaw: Nice choices to have. I like Palmer and VD.

  16. Peter says:

Avant or Greg Jennings for my WR3? I’m so fed up with Jennings, that I’m ready to do something drastic.

  17. Asdrubal Bastardo says:

    JStew > Barbarian?

  18. Joe B says:

Derrick Mason vs GB or Santonio Holmes vs Oak this week???

  19. xopchipili says:

ESPN reporting DeAngelo’s inactive, if so JStew is a no-brainer

  20. Drew says:

    Pick 2 RBs, .5/reception

Benson, LT, P. Thomas, Maroney, Taylor

  21. Ben says:

I see a lot of similar questions, but I have to pick 2 of these WRs in a PPR league:

Jennings, Roddy White, Meachem, Britt, Avant, Garcon…

I know I should probably go with Jennings and White… confirm?

  22. Gary says:

With Talib being inactive as well as D. Williams, where would you rank S. Smith among the following:

    – R. White
    – Maclin
    – Avant

Currently those three are my starters. I left Smith out due to his poor showing last time against TB and with an uncertain Matt Moore at the helm.

    Thanks again!

  23. money says:

Need to pick 3 – Ward @ Oak, Roddy @ Phi, Boldin @ Min and Driver @ Balt. Which 3 should I go with?

  24. Doc

    Doc says:

    @Drew: Benson, LT

@Ben: Worried about White, but I think so

@Gary: I think you have to get Smith in there. Probably over Avant.

    @money: Boldin, Ward, Roddy

  25. Bofum says:

Avant or Percy? no points for return yards only td’s

  26. Doc

    Doc says:

    @Bofum: Avant

  27. stumanji says:

Any word on the Shiancoe injury? Active or inactive?

  28. Doc

    Doc says:

    @stumanji: None yet.

  29. Sos says:

    Ppr norwood or charles?

  30. Jon says:

    I’m revisiting this but…

PPR league start Grant or Norwood alongside Ricky?

@Doc: You still contending the starting Arodg over Palmer?

  31. Jon says:

    starting *of

  32. Doc

    Doc says:

    @Sos: Charles

@Jon: Grant is hurting a little so I’m going with Norwood. I still like Rodgers, but I wouldn’t say anyone was dumb for starting Palmer.

  33. Jon says:

I like Rodgers as well. I’m trying to convince myself I’m not dumb for not starting Palmer…

Hopefully I’ll have a playoff spot clinched by 7pm.

  34. tenken says:

Last minute question, but which of the Seattle RBs do you like more? Right now, I’m siding on Jones but I’m scared that either he’s going to be ineffective or might aggrevate his rib injury and not play at all. Forsett seems to be high risk/reward.

  35. Commish Cauda (formerly Mike) says:

Gage is out…chambers or Britt in 0.5 ppr?

  36. trevor says:

Which defense do i go with. Green Bay or Arizona. I really need as many points as I can possibly get as Im currently up 101-46 with only D left to play. Bye week is on the line

  37. Drew

    Drew says:

@trevor: you have to go with Green Bay
