It was an ugly end to an ugly game. The talk of the town this morning is how long Myles Garrett should be suspended by the NFL. Baker even brought up a suspension in the post game interview. Striking Mason Rudolph with his own helmet is one of the most malicious acts that we’ve seen on the field in a very long time. If there is even a little bit of humor in what occurred; trust me there isn’t much, it was Mason Rudolph throwing his hands up to the ref IMMEDIATELY after the helmet hits him.

Was Mason Rudolph really that concerned about getting an extra 15-yard penalty being down 14 points with not enough time to come back? Did Rudolph want the ref to square up with Garrett on his behalf? It’s so confusing. I think my first reaction after being struck with a hard object by an obscenely large man would be, “oh my God, my brain is bleeding. Somebody please help.” Quarterbacks and receivers take hard hits all of the time with the helmet on and looked dazed and even stumble around a little bit sometimes. Not Rudolph. He turned to the ref and wanted his 15-yards and he wanted it now.

I can’t help but feel bad for the rest of the Browns after a second consecutive with over a team with a winning record. It’s completely overshadowed by the chaos that occurred. I guess we can just sigh and whisper, “that’s so Browns.” Here’s what else I saw on Thursday Night Football.

Performance Checks

– One would have to think that this is the last we’ve seen of James Conner for a while, right? Conner aggravated his shoulder injury and aggravations usually lead to a conservative approach to recovery time. It would be a bummer if we didn’t see him again this year.

 – The 12 touch mark is about the amount of work that I was expecting to see Kareem Hunt get after he returned from his suspension and I think that it’s what we can expect going forward. Hunt adds an element to this offense that they didn’t have have before with having a good pass catching back and space for Nick Chubb when they are on the field together.

Nick Chubb wasn’t too shabby again last night except for the whole not scoring a touchdown thing. He had 92 yards on 27 carries and the 27 carries is exactly what you want to see as a Nick Chubb owner.

Odell Beckham Jr. got robbed of a touchdown. Beckham owners can’t catch a break this season. It sucks because he is the same old Beckham from a talent standpoint. You’ll just have to settle for the 10 PPR points that you got.

Jarvis Landry is paying dividend to his owners in the month of November. He had 4 catches for 43 yards and a wide open touchdown grab on 7 targets.

– We finally got the Baker Mayfield that we have been waiting for last night. The yardage total wasn’t there, but 3 total touchdowns will get you some fantasy points.

Mason Rudolph continues to look like a terrible NFL quarterback, except this time the defense couldn’t save him. Rudolph just doesn’t have zip.

– I’m not quite sure what to make of Jaylen Samuels going forward. He didn’t see a lot of work after James Conner exited.

ROS for 20 team PPR redraft, this is for worst RB on team (also have lat murray, AAron, white, samuels, mal brown). rank these: edmonds (PIT, so my jay sam backup), pollard (handcuff in good situation if one injury), mal brown (not even sure if he’d be the biggest gainer if gurley went out now and LAR offense (esp running game) ain’t great either), bonnafon (similar to pollard).

I don’t have any social media accounts. For that reason, I am hoping someone who does will read this and take action.

I like James Conner a lot, but the man needs a new mentor. Maybe someone could try to spark a connection between him and Matt Forte (or some other running back who demonstrated an ability to get to the ground without injury in the interest of longevity) with a couple well placed @s.

Yes, there is value in being a tough guy. But gaining that extra yard is not worth an injury that takes you out of a game (and future games).

I LOLed in real time when I saw Rudolph turn to the refs and throw his hands up. Yes, Mason, we saw what just happened.

I’ve seen a lot of Steelers game this year for whatever reason. Mason isn’t a good thrower of the football, but I honestly can’t say I’ve seen many guys stand in the pocket like he does. He shifts subtly in there while maintaining eyes downfield. I find myself yelling at him to throw it already or get the hell out of there, but he stays cool and manages to get rid of it just in time. I don’t know if it’s the confidence in his O-line, supreme pocket presence, or he’s too stupid to realize he should have been sacked already but it’s interesting to watch.

yeah i’ve seen PIT games at least 3 times since he’s been playing too and it’s like he has no instinct of self-preservation at all. sorta like inverse darnold. “i’m not worried that i was probably a few inches from possibly being dead i want my 15 yards!” maybe he’s been hit so many times in the head he forgot there was only 8 seconds left and thought PIT could come back in the game.

Yeah, it might be that he has NO pocket presence but I’ll give him credit for hanging in there until the last possible second, whatever the reason is.

yeah it’s some mix likely of guts and/or ignorance here.

12 team PPR. keep one (barkley, easily). RB thin here (lost carry-on, now i’m left holding the baggage)
QB (1): j.allen, goff (6 pt TD throws league, and 6 pt bonuses for going over 300 throwing (had been goff’s bag in past seasons), 6 pt bonuses for rushing/receiving over 100 yards too)
RB (2): barkley, mckissic (him or guice this week too), gore, mack, guice
WR (2): pascal, samuel, edelman (return yards worth same as scrimmage, but this year edelman’s gotten far less return work than most seasons), mclaurin
TE (1): henry (bye coming up), cook
    1 flex
IR (1) green (although i might be better off putting c.thompson in here when he gets ruled out)
    K: gay
DEF (1): BAL/OAK (OAK’s weeks 11 and 12 are awesome, meanwhile BAL destroys people sometimes and hasn’t gone under 13 pts in this league since week 4, and has this playoff schedule (@ BUF, vs NYJ, @ CLE, which has to be the best playoff schedule i’ve heard about, BAL got a 30 in this league last week, these scores since week 4, 13, 14, 25, 20,30)

only waiting for yahoo to catch up to green’s out tag, when he gets it,

    1. best add out of: gallman (barkley went for MRI on shoulder, we won’t hear the news for a bit since he’s on bye, but if i wait for that gallman might be grabbed by somebody), ty-jo, c.thompson (could IR him over green too in not too long), conley, mccoy (just in case walrus 5th guesses himself or whatever number he’s up to on jerking some RB around for playing time), walton?

    2. mayfield over goff here?

    3. one of those FA RB’s over gore here? i guess gore would have good value if singletary went out again of course.

Twinkle Toes Conner has killed me this year. just needed to vent. Thanks for listening. Tomlin is a scum bag not only for leaving him out there to originally get hurt in a blowout but then again for basically lying to the whole country saying he was good to go for last night. F Tomlin, just venting, thanks again for listening.

PPR,I just traded Henry for Lockett. However I start 2 RB’s and still have Zek, Fournette and Jacobs. Would you trade Fournette or Jacobs for either Theilen or Godwin?? Thanks Man!
