This is huge news. Moreno was injured in practice, but we have no idea how bad it is. McDaniels may go to his grave with that information. Knowshon was set up for a good game against the weak Indianapolis rush defense, but it now looks like Correll Buckhalter and Laurence Maroney will see most of the work. Maroney was inactive last week after being traded from the Patriots, but he has practiced this week. I’m looking for a 50/50 split, but it really depends on how comfortable McDaniels is with Maroney. In a game where they Broncos will probably be starting two rookie cornerbacks against Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon the Broncos will probably be throwing the ball. A lot.
But no matter, Maroney is a must add. It is speculative at this point, but if he is available, grab him. (Update: Moreno’s injury is to his hamstring and not the one he had a partial tear in early in the season. With Moreno’s trouble Maroney is still a good add, but now the chances of him starting next week are slimmer)
I would upgrade Orton, Buckhalter, Maroney, Thomas, Gaffney and Royal since all will be getting more work this week. Maroney is a question mark at this point and I doubt Josh will be answering too many questions, but since he should be getting goal line carries he is worth a start, depending on your league’s depth.
